Full-Go Practice For Jamel Dean; Dee Delaney Out

October 28th, 2021

Injury news

Overall good news from One Buc Palace as the Rashard Robinson era might be about to begin.

The official Tampa Bay injury report for Thursday is released and cornerback Jamel Dean was a full participant for the second consecutive day. Dean has been gutting through knee, shoulder and thumb injuries. So that’s an awesome sign he’ll play Sunday against the Saints.

Dee Delaney, last week’s starting outside corner, has yet to practice this week after messing up his ankle late against New Orleans.

It’s possible the Bucs could turn at cornerback to veteran Rashard Robinson, and Joe almost thinks Bucco Bruce Arians might like to go there. Multiple times this week Arians has said (with a smile in his voice) that the Bucs could roll with their eighth starting defensive backfield in eight games on Sunday.

Robinson, 26, has years of experience with Todd Bowles’ Jets and before that was a starter on the 49ers.

Of course, Delaney’s absence could bring fragrant cornerback Pierre Desir (Joe’s favorite bottle of cologne) to the limelight for his first start after he picked off Bears QB Justin Fields on Sunday.

**In other injury news, O.J. Howard (ankle) was full-go at practice, as was Ndamukong Suh (knee). Lavonte David (ankle), Rob Gronkowski (ribs) and Richard Sherman (hamstring) remain “limited.”

    The walking wounded.

But hey so are many teams in nfl right now
Nfl should rethink their current situation but they wont

No real offseason. Flag football in helmets most days. Limited practices . No hitting most days. Shorter preseason.

    Now go play 17 games.

    Surprise

  2. SlyPirate Says:

Eight different backfields in eight games. 6-1 record. Good job, Bowles and co.

Awesome; Keep RSh @ the sidelines for another week. Let him coach this week as well….. apparently he was good at it

  4. Miller5252 Says:

One Buc need to hire new security. I swear someone is coming in and mess with all the CB stuff and causing them to get hurt. This has gotta be some kind of record for most CB/safety’s hurt in a year. Good grief

  5. DaBux Says:

I would prefer Gronk and Sherman take the day off if they can.

Let’s go young, go HAWNGRY, and spike JJJJJJameis like we did Fields.

  6. gbobucsfan Says:

Just got a notification saying Gronk is Active.

  7. JimmyJack Says:

Hey we got good ol reliable Russ Cockrell. Hes not hurt right? He has played pretty good football the last few weeks. The biggest complaint is not being able to clutch the football……..We really cant have that against Winston. This fanbase has never salivated for a turnover more then this week.

  8. PassingThru Says:

    @Joe

Are you sure? The injury report says Gronk was “FP” aka Full participation, while OJ was limited.
I suspect there’s a typo on the Buc injury report.

  9. Bucsfanman Says:

    Some good news at least!

  10. Jason Says:

If we rush the passer like we did last week, the secondary will be alright. Weird how that works. 😁

  11. Defense Rules Says:

Our Secondary will be fine in New Orleans, especially if Sean Payton keeps the reins on Jameis’ deep balls. Sounds like Dean is a Go; so is Cockrell. Desir has some decent experience, and so does Robinson. Plus we’ve got Edwards (wouldn’t use him outside, but as a Nickel he’d be OK). Still, our pass rush is the difference-maker.

  12. James Says:

He messed it up in New Orleans? I thought they had not played that game yet.

  13. Craig Says:

As long as the line and backers can contain Kamara and pressure Jameis, the DBs will be fine.

If it gets too bad they could throw a couple of extra receivers into the defensive side, most DBs were receivers that couldn’t catch.

The injuries this year are crazy!! We were so lucky last year, maybe I didn’t pay attention to it as much. But every team has real issues? I don’t remember it being like this 5, 10, 15 years ago?

  15. DaBux Says:

Don’t over use Gronk please. Spot play him. OJ Howard is expendable, Gronk is not.

  16. Jerry Says:

We did have some injuries last year. Vita Vea missed half the season. Both Evans and Godwin got dinged up half-way through. RoJo was playing hurt at the end. AB was playing with a hurt knee in the Super Bowl. Brady played with a torn MCL.

The issue this year is the bulk of the injuries are concentrated on one position.

  17. David Says:

Good to hear about Dean. That sucks about Delaney, I think he’s been playing pretty darn good.

As much as I want LVD and Gronk back, I don’t want either one rushed

  18. GMC hater Says:

Does this mean AB is out?

  19. mark2001 Says:

Is that a “held out of practice” as a precaution of further trauma, or is it a held out of practice… out for Sunday?

  20. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

The focus has to be shutting down Kamara.

If we do a reasonable job of that, Bucs Win!

  21. Buc and roll Says:

    And yet another

    game of the week

sure is good to be the champs
