“Aw Man, He’s Going To Win It Again”

October 27th, 2021

Zooming with Tom Brady.

Monday night was a perfect example of how over a short period of time the meaning of words gets so twisted.

Not that long ago local politicians held what they called “townhalls.” This was a chance for the proletariat to gather at a grade school gym or a community center or a church bingo hall and discuss local issues of the day in an interactive, back-and-forth setting.

Now? Pfftt.

Take this Tom Brady show on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio each week. Brady sits with the worst slurper of sports media, Jim Gray, and Brady answers syrupy, pat-a-cake, softball questions that wouldn’t ruffle a sleeping kitten. OK, fine. Whatever. Could be worse.

So Monday the format of the show was changed to what Gray kept referring to as a “townhall.” It wasn’t any type of townhall that Joe has ever known. There wasn’t one regular, normal, blue-collar, dude-sitting-at-the-corner-of-the-bar Bucs fan involved.

Instead it was about a dozen hand-picked former NFL greats and people in sports media (in the case of Steve Young and Bill Cowher, both) either worth millions or earning enough scratch that the only power bill they remotely worry about is the one at their second home in Naples the property manager forgot to pay.

Townhall? What town are we talking about Jim, the Avila neighborhood?

Joe’s willing to bet the lowest-salaried person involved in that show was NFL Network’s It-Girl Kay Adams. And Joe is going to guess, conservatively, Adams makes low-six-figures a year on NFL Network.

Some townhall. It was a zoom conference call with folks who have as much to do with 300-level season ticket holders as Stu Sternberg (to her credit, at least Adams will sometimes mingle with the littles).

Today Adams discussed her experience being involved in this project. And Adams, as you can see in the NFL Network video below, has turned into a total Brady fangirl.

What was her big impression of Brady after listening to this 100-minute zoom call?

“Aw man, he’s going to win it again,” Adams gushed.

You can hear (and see) Adams’ full take below. One thing Adams said that caught Joe’s attention was that Brady claimed he’s more about helping Mike Evans continue his NFL record streak of 1,000-yard seasons than any of his stats.

After all, what passing record doesn’t Brady already own?

Joe remembers only a handful of years ago “townhall” meant concerned citizens gathering to make a difference in their community. Now, “townhall” apparently means hand-picked media elites who discuss the best spots for fish tacos in Cartagena.

Townhall? Hey, just because you call a dog a cat doesn’t mean it’s not a dog. See how the meaning of words can be so twisted in such a short period of time?

#Sad.

She must have lost my home address. I know she’s bringing over beers and wings one Sunday.

  2. BA4President Says:

“All-Star Q&A” may have been more accurate, but they probably didn’t think anyone would care about the title. Then came Joe, haha

  3. David Says:

K Adams… I had to watch it twice because the first time I just sat and stared at her. Wow. Anyway, I digress.
Most of that was ridiculous dumb questions but I see where she is coming from. He does seem like he’s just on a different plane, a different level than other quarterbacks mentally. He should be because of his age and success and experience. I get the feeling he’s here definitely next year, possibly another

  4. David Says:

On another note, Aqib Talib. It’s good to see him in such a good place in life. It sucks he couldn’t stick around with Tampa and get his crap together but he has really grown up

If Joe wrote this article, I have to say that the feminine products will be in stock as soon as they are unloaded from the 70 ships. What a cheap marketing tool you are. I’ll give you credit. you are smart enough to know that America thrives on controversy. Did she say something that’s not true?? What a whiny ass article. wah wah wah

“Kobe Faker would give 3 months of Disability checks and 6 months of foodstamps to have Kay Adams kick him in the nuts”

I sold health insurance for 26 years. I used to tell my manager that I wanted to make him a rich man. Get it? If Tome says he wants to to help Evans achieve his goals, well guess what? he helps himself as well as the team. Come on people let’s not make this a damn sissified soap opera. Go TOM!!!!! GO KAY! haha

  8. Posey99 Says:

When Evans gets his record, Brady should pretend to give the ball away to a fan. It’s only fair lol

  9. ClodHopper Says:

“After all, what passing record doesn’t Brady already own?”

For me the most important record I want him to get is the Bucs franchise season passing yards. I’m sure Mike will be more happy to help him

  10. Buc4evr Says:

The only thing that counts is another SB ring. No other records really matter, ask Dan Marino….

You guys with a bug up your butts about Joe are hilarious. You probably can’t even write a coherent sentence, much less numerous sports articles per day. Give it a rest and go kick your dog.

I love me some Kay Adams!

  21. BrooklynBucsFan Says:

I’m sure Kay Adam’s makes more than “low six figures.” I worked on a show for people magazines website and the host of that was making $2500 per show(for about two hours of filming on a Sunday)and she wasn’t yet famous, though she did go in to host major network shows. I’d guess Kay Adam’s is making closer to low 7 figures.

  22. Rocco40 Says:

Ok, anyone heyah, know what defines a “gentleman”? Enough about wanting to be with her, geeze. And IMO, Posey99, best comment, good’un! As they say, lmao.
