Tom Brady Worthy Of A Gold Jacket Now

September 21st, 2021

Historic run.

Yes, Joe understands players must wait five years after their retirement before being eligible to be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That may have to change.

The way Tom Brady is going, Brady is liable to die before the five-year grace period is over. Playing at 50? Joe’s starting to think about football life after 50 for Brady the way he is going.

If there was someone out there who didn’t yet think Brady was worthy of Hall of Fame induction, consider what Clark Judge of the Talk of Fame Network has written: Brady is doing things now at an age where mere mortals aren’t supposed to be playing football and he’s about to set a new standard for quarterbacks.

GOLD JACKET RECIPIENT
TOM BRADY, QB, Tampa Bay.
Maybe you heard of him. He’s 44 and outplaying the competition. He had four touchdown passes in the season opener, then followed with five more vs. Atlanta. That puts him at nine for the season, ahead of Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers … I think you get the idea. Ahead of the field. But that’s not all: His nine TD passes through the first two games of a season are second only to Patrick Mahomes’ record of 10. Plus, he has at least four touchdown passes in four consecutive regular-season games dating to last season. Yowzah. For years, people have been telling us that he’s at or near his tipping point. They just didn’t tell us which decade.

The thing that blows Joe’s mind is if you take the nine Brady touchdowns in two games and extend that to 17 games, that comes to 76 touchdowns. The record thrown in a season is 55 by Peyton Manning.

Joe had a back and forth last night with a follower on Twitter. Former NFL quarterback Trent Green said Kyler Murray is the leading candidate for NFL MVP. Joe likes Murray and he is good, but stop! If Brady throws for 70 touchdowns, it’s all over. He will be MVP.

Murray is a very good quarterback but doesn’t have anywhere close to the same kind of impact Brady does, sorry.

Brady, as we all know, is an amazing player and teammate. His positive influence on this team goes far beyond his stats. Hard to quantify but MVP voters should be cognizant of that fact. Most valuable player goes beyond the stat sheet.

  2. adam from ny Says:

he will throw 50+ regular season tds…

doubt he throws 60+, but anything is possible with brady…

70+ just ain’t happening, but is fun to talk about after 2 weeks…

    #50x60x70

  3. Youngbucs Says:

So happy players on this team talents aren’t being wasted. Got a QB and we’re off to the races.

  4. PSL Bob Says:

Just keep it going! Perfect season so far. Brady is too good and his extraordinary weapons too many for defenses to stop as long as the o-line does its job.

  5. Bucs Win Says:

    57 TD’s

  6. Winny Testaverde Says:

Just like Murray getting the pro bowl nod over Brady last year…laughable. People love little and cute like Murray & Ira. Murray will fade and/or get hammered by seasons end.

  7. SB Says:

    Heard it on GMFB yesterday.
If Brady throws 14 more TDs this yr he will have thrown MORE TDS in his 40s than in his 20s!!!!!!

  8. Oneilbuc Says:

Youngbucs . They added 2 other hall of famers on the team and even changed the plays with the no risk it no biscuit!!

  9. Oneilbuc Says:

Murray is a good quarterback he only been in the league for 3 years. Man yall are crazy lol 😆 😂

  10. Cannon Says:

Brady will be the first player to make the Bucs Ring of Honor while actively playing.

  11. SlyPirate Says:

What’s sad is people everywhere make excuses why he’s playing so well …

Stacked offense, weak competition, and my favorite the NFL cheats for TB12.

    Just appreciate it.

  12. Biff Barker Says:

    SB,

BA was just saying how much the game has changed. Rules allow for a pass happy NFL. Guess we can just cut RoJo now?

  13. Ben green Says:

I had the pleasure of watching almost every home Pats game, throughout Brady’s career. I have the utmost respect for his ability, drive, and longevity. But he is on an all-star team. It’s just a fact.

  14. Youngbucs Says:

All star team Brady is the star he’s the sun everything else is in orbit around him. Clowns don’t know elite QB play smacking them in the face or just refuse because of bitter stupidity for a bum QB bunch of losers. What’s the matter can’t poke the chest out this week so it’s back to bashing Bucs lol. Team on a ten gm win streak breaking nfl records personal records. And y’all still digging for moral victories smh.

  15. David Says:

Obviously it’s more of a passing league now than it was in Bradys first several years. Even taken that into account, though, Brady has been better in his 40s, especially the last two years, than he was on his 20’s.
It doesn’t seem like velocity is gone, he processes everything and gets rid of the ball as fast as ever. He’s as accurate as ever. And he’s more deadly going deep.

Just have the O line keep him upright and this will be a historical year

  16. Jerry Says:

They can go ahead and snub Brady give it to someone like Murray. See what happens…. Brady feeds off that stuff.

Everyone is going crazy over the Cardinals right now. They are now everyone’s sleeper team. But remember that is a BRUTAL division. At least one of those teams will not make the playoffs. Those teams have to play each other twice. 2 of them will get in. Maybe 3 depending on tie breaks. But not all 4.

  17. Ben green Says:

Brady was essentially a game manager for his first few seasons. You’re right about the league becoming pass happy. Peyton Manning bitched hard and long enough to get the 5 yard chuck rules inforced. Illegal contact as well. He was sad because the Pats DBs beat the hell out of his panty waste receivers. Without that rule change, The Pats may have 10 Superbowls

  18. Ben green Says:

That and the rules protecting the passer completely changed the game. No more could you run the ball play defense. The Patriots changed approach around 06. Brady had just been outscored by Manning. A loss that still makes Ben cry. They reinvented themselves into a bend but don’t break D, and a high flying arieal show. After that, the league turned into arena ball, and ceased to be the sport I loved.

  19. Tiago Says:

The dynasty formed in Foxborough, did Brady play alone?
Over 20 years, the squad has rarely been filled with good players.
It is a fact that many were not as starred as the Bucs.
But the difference has always been the combination of all talents with the magic that BRADY offers on the field.

  20. Shecky Says:

What blows my mind is after 22 NFL seasons Brady’s playing his first NFL game in Los Angeles this Sunday.

  21. Sparky Says:

@Shecky but there’s only been a team in LA since 2016, so not that weird really

  22. Pickgrin Says:

    Shecky Says:
“after 22 NFL seasons Brady’s playing his first NFL game in Los Angeles this Sunday”

Thats largely because LA didn’t have a team for 17 of those 21 years…

  23. Jason From Jamrock Says:

I assume the 5yr waiting period is for a player to be objectively analysed, after his playing days have been completed.
A player who ends on a high note may ride a euphoric wave into Canton if there wasn’t a 5 year wait; conversely a worthy recipient may end on a career low or an injury and that may cloud the voters opinion of him.

    But with TB12 …
… there IS NO WAIT required!!!
