Rookie Simplicity From Tom Brady

September 16th, 2021

What a great life lesson this is.

Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich was talking about his prized possession this week on Bucs Total Access, a production of team-sponsored media paid for by Team Glazer.

There Leftwich was asked to name a new thing or two he learned about Tom Brady over the past year.

Leftwich replied that Brady has the very simplistic approach of a rookie without all the wasted thoughts and uncertainly that bogs down most young quarterbacks.

“He approaches [the game] as if he knows nothing. He don’t take nothing for granted. He thinks through every concept no matter how many times he’s done it,” Leftwich said of Brady. “And when you watch him play, he makes the game simple. He don’t clutter his brain with a lot of stuff young quarterbacks do.”

Man, imagine coming in as the most experienced quarterback in history and forcing yourself ot have a rookie mentality.

Leftwich added that Brady takes plenty of pressure off an offensive coordinator because Brady is so laser-focused on winning every practice, in addition to every snap.

Yes, Bucs fans, this is the golden age of Bucs football.

Amen to that! The golden age that is. Wouldn’t it be something if the Buccaneers maintained a high level as a franchise even after Brady, Gronk and BA are gone? A dynasty? I can dream can’t I?

Meanwhile, I love learning more about the GOAT precisely because I ignored much of his career in the previous years. 😇

    Go Bucs!

He is not forcing himself to do this, he has trained himself to approach the game this way. Most likely is how he approaches day to day life off the field also, maybe, I do not know.

But this reminds me of Vince Lombardi starting training camp every year.
Vince would stand there with a football in his hand and say to his Veteran Championship team “Men this is a Football”

    Think about that.

That is the most basic thing. But the key to everything.

    Always keep it simple, focused.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

I’m just like Jimbob on this. Never cared for Brady until now.

And right now i feel like Tampa is the new Boston. From the Buccaneers, to the Rays, to The Lightning. I love Tampa!!!

The details people in every aspect!!!!! But but but how fast is his 40 time smh.

  5. Hodad Says:

As long as we have Brady we’ll be a contender. Enjoy it while we can.

Every century or two a great leader comes along and captures our souls, our minds and leads us all in a way never before imagined.

TB is that person – so cherish it – run with it like the entire Bucs organization from top to bottom is doing.

Leaders like TB instill belief in ourselves and lifts us all to heights never thought possible.

You are only limited when you allow doubt to enter your mind. TB will not allow that to happen. So enjoy and live in the moment with TB.

  7. PassingThru Says:

That’s something that most don’t realize: Brady wants to win practices. Even for something that most folks write off as meaningless, Brady is both serious and miserable following a practice “loss” to the defense.

I’m a patriots fan and I still route for Tom Brady I will root for the Tampa Bay Bucs all the way unless they meet the patriots and then I would go for the patriots other than that go bucs!! So when the patriots n bucs meet this year it’s going to be awfully hard to watch since I’m rooting for both of them!!

  9. Ddogg Says:

Kevin I’ll roote for the Buccs enough for a couple extra fans. But, I think you’ll be cheering for TB12 and feeling bad for your pats by the end of the game. I’m in awe still of last seasons ride and this one should be even more historic. I think this team is about to tare up this league this season

Joe, it is interesting to know more about “ He don’t clutter his brain with a lot of stuff young quarterbacks do.”

Brady also said before..it was like having the answers to the test. He can simplify in ways that others cant.

That said.. the QB position gets really complicated under pressure. Brady will be tested every week and it’s possible the cowboys D was kinda soft.
