Rob Gronkowski Is Mr. Reliable

September 10th, 2021

Goofy but clutch.

There may not be a bigger goofball on the Bucs roster than foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski. And Joe types that in the most endearing way.

But damn, if you need a clutch play, Gronkowski is somehow involved.

That happened tonight in the Bucs’ 31-29 win. On a night where Chris Godwin had his absolute worst nightmare play, on a night when Mike Evans was bottled up, on a night when there was a search party sent out for O.J. Howard, it was Gronk that all but saved the evening.

Gronk had two touchdown catches from Tom Brady and absolute clutch plays on the game-winning drive to save the Bucs.

With less than a minute left and the Bucs deep in their own territory, Gronk made two key catches that totaled 26 yards and got Tampa Bay to midfield where Brady did the rest.

If Gronk, 32, is too old and too washed to be another Pro Bowl tight end, he fooled everyone tonight.

I agree 100%. The dude is a stud. But dear Lord he looked like an ancient rhino trying to make his way to the sideline to stop the clock there. Took about 17 seconds longer than it needed to.

Gronk & Brady have that chemistry. Same with Brady & AB.

I have a feeling that AB might end up with more TD’s & yards than Evans this season.

Too many mistakes, no team is a pushover, even Atlanta next week.

I hope the coaches drive that home.

  5. Leighroy Says:

Gronk and AB played A+ tonight! Maybe the only ones (aside from obv Brady)

Love having the guy. I feel like he would have fit right in with me and my buddy who did stupid random things in high school for kicks.
One guy who nevver saw any action was Brate. Kept waiting for a clutch catch in second half but Gronk was on a roll

Agreed swampbuc, that throw was right in front of me. Incredible catch, soft hands, it was like nothing to gronk ! Like catching a Nerf ball !
After seeing so many drops by our other players this catch was in total contrast, gronk made it look easy, like no effort !

  15. HeyItsAdam Says:

Imagine if we had Dalvin Cook tonight instead of that worthless sack of [Facebook TOS Deleted] Howard. No fumbles, no deflected interceptions… competent running……….

  16. Greg Says:

You guys fallin for the same old Gronk is slow BS….
1 stride by 6’6″ Gronk covers more ground than 5’10” Fast DB’s or LB’s
He looks slow but why does he always get things done? Why can’t other teams cover him or Biggest question is…. if he is so slow and etc.etc. Why for goodness sake does TB12 keep throwing him the rock?……. The man knows how to get things done!
