It’s All About Tom Brady

September 11th, 2021

Anything possible with Tom Brady.

Even though the Bucs opened the 2021 NFL season with a win over the Cowboys Thursday night, there are still a lot of folks giving their preseason predictions since the rest of the league won’t play until tomorrow (and Monday).

And that includes former Bucs guard and current popular sports radio personality Ian Beckles. In a recent edition of his podcast “In the Trenches,” Beckles believes Bucs fans really have only one thing to worry about this season.

Beckles said, remembering just two years ago when the Bucs were the fire hydrant in the dog park of the NFL, hearing everyone suggest the Bucs will at least get to the Super Bowl, Beckles admitted it is mindblowing.

But never fear, Beckles said, Tom Brady is here. And as long as the Bucs can keep Brady on two feet, another Super Bowl run is not crazy talk.

“Isn’t it all about Tom Brady, when it all comes down to it?” Beckles asked. “If Tom Brady is standing at the end of the season and is upright and is healthy, this Buccaneer team is going to be good.

“There is no reason to not believe this Buccaneer team to be exceptional if they all stay healthy.”

Ah yes, injuries. And turnovers. How many folks wanted to jump out a window Thursday when Chris Godwin fumbled at the three-yard line? That play won/lost loads of cash for thousands.

But Beckles is right. With Brady as the Bucs quarterback, anything is possible.

If Tommy doesn’t throw INT’s in the playoffs & Mike Evans doesn’t drop balls & has his head in the game & blocks on screen passes…..this team will go back-to-back

  2. Usedtocould Says:

He’s a beautiful man. Not Pete.

  3. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

This illustrates the exact point Beckles is making…

After the Godwin fumble, the stadium went dead silent. We were all depressed. Then Dak did his thing, and some started leaving the stadium. Give Dak credit. He is a top 5 QB. I told my wife, its ok, Brady has a minute and a half left – and all the Bucs need is a field goal. Brady getting a FG with 1-1/2 minutes – I will take that bet all day long.

With the talent he has around him, Brady will get us to the sacred place again in February. Plus maybe a team size jar of Stickum

  4. BucsBeBack (Artist formally known as: BringBucsBack) Says:

It IS all about Tom Brady and indirectly the offensive line! They played well as a group and if they continue to do so, that’s bad news for the league. Brady does not like to be moved off of his spot and the league knows it.

Pete is correct, If our receivers are so great, They must not disappear, drop well-placed balls and/or fumble. What ever happened to high and tight, anyway?

  5. James Allen Lofton Says:

Remember the saying – the Super Bowl Champs will see teams at their best to dethrone you. This will only make the Bucs better. Go Bucs

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We did everything we could to lose that game….and we didn’t.

Fumbles, interception off Fournette…..penalties on both sides…..porous defensive backs…..

Brady kept his cool throughout……and did his job from beginning to end.

  7. Architek Says:

I think that’s what separate the Mike Evans and Godwin of the world from Hopkins, Julio, and other “elite” WRs; the penchant for timely drops and concentration mistakes.

  8. Mike C Says:

Everyone that was around me stayed the whole game, we don’t need those so called fans anyway Harry.

  9. James Allen Lofton Says:

    Look out NFL…

Jones fumbles at the 24 yard line, Fournette botches the easy pass & interception from Brady at the 21 yard line and Godwin fumbles at the 2 yard line which resulted in easy scores for the Cowboys, the Bucs more than cover the money lines.

Keep 17 & 0 as your goal = Super Bowl win.

  10. 2021 Year of the GOAT Says:

TB12 Will be the best QB in our lifetime hands down…. great teams find a way to win even when they dont deserve too…. Yes … protect TOM and we go all the way

  11. Steven007 Says:

I personally didn’t see any Bucs fans leave after the fumble. And I can’t believe any fan worth his salt would leave in that situation with our quarterback and 90 seconds left.

  12. Boltsfan17 Says:

Of course it’s all TB12. Without him this team is going nowhere. He covers for an overrated defense (looking at you secondary) and totally inconsistent running game. He brings so much credibility to the franchise both on and off the field that’s really immeasurable.

  13. Mike Says:

Brady throws such as text book spiral, its a thing of beauty to watch. Still can’t believe he’s the QB for the Bucs.

  14. Kev@Inverness Says:

No fans left after the fumble in my section either. Maybe a couple years ago with #3 folks would have left, but not with TB under center.

  15. Eddie Marz Says:

I hate to say this but I listened to some clowns on ESPN and they said if Dak Prescott was in Tampa he would have won that game. Don’t these guys get it. It’s not just the numbers you put up, it’s the intangible’s also that make Tom Brady great. GO BUCS!

  16. Steven007 Says:

Kev, fans would have left in droves if we’d had our previous quarterback. I know because I witnessed it multiple times. Even though I always stayed I always anticipated the last minute interception as I’m sure the fans who left did as well. I don’t anticipate that anymore.

  17. Steven007 Says:

Dak surprised me. I thought he’d be a dead man walking on his wounded ankle. Or that there be easily discernible rust. Hats off to their OC. Great game plan which had mostly quick throws to the sidelines that are easy to complete.

  18. Youngbucs Says:

What say you haters??? No run gm over 100 yds in penalty’s 4 turnovers tossed the ball 50 times!!!!! Tom Brady don’t need your excuses win or lose! But trust most the time he’s winning!!

  19. Jason Says:

It’s all about Tom Brady > It’s all about #5

  20. SufferingSince76 Says:

Those leaving must have been Cowboy fans. They saw the writing on the wall.

  21. crazybucs_CL Says:

… should be clear here…. there was No defense, and sure not the coaches, winning.
    They suck!
We have an average D, and average coaches that can’t make ANY impact to WIN.
Is only one man, pulling this team, in need for constant stimulation.
    That is TB12.
Tom’s boys are the best; we say JL is doing great job…. yes he did. Going along with Tom requests, after open the doors when he decided to be a Bucs, that’s it.
The best “draft picks” are done by TB12. Gronk, AB, Lenny…wow what a “draft”.
HE is everything we have. That,s it.🐐🐐🐐

  22. Darin Says:

Just those two things. Ok got it Peter

  23. Donald Rico Alexander Says:

Ya know, even when TB12 was in New England it was always “if this or that QB was playing in New England they would do the same things Brady does. Now it’s Tampa.

  24. Listnfrmafar Says:

Brady had the ball 12 and 1/2 minutes less than Dak and still won with 4 turn overs, how can anyone say Dak out played him? Dak played good against a below average secondary and took advantage of a few turnovers, kudos to him but I’ll take the W over accolades.
