“Impact”

September 5th, 2021

Bucs OLB Joe Tryon-Shoyinka.

Joe can just hear the late-night/early-morning infomercial carnival barker on your third-tier cable channel.

“The Bucs are Super Bowl champions — but wait, THERE’S MORE! Five out of five NFL executives agree: The Bucs are the best team in the NFC… “

Mike Sando of The Athletic spoke off-the-record with five NFL suits to get a breakdown of teams in the NFC. Unanimously, they all agree the Bucs are the best in the conference.

One executive went further. He believes the Bucs will actually improve. This is a pretty mind-blowing to say that a Super Bowl champion will get better, but that’s what one unnamed NFL shot-caller claims.

“If there is any question on offense, it might be, where does the running game go?” a voter said. “And I actually think it’s going to be improved with Giovani Bernard. I think Giovani Bernard is going to be like James White for Tom Brady. On defense, their pass rush will be improved. Joe Tryon is going to have an impact as a third guy. I don’t think there’s a weakness, in my opinion, on their defense.”

Man, Joe’s mouth just waters at the thought of Joe Tryon-Shoyinka having an “impact” on the defense. The way he is being hyped, it is too much to expect seven sacks from the rookie?

If JTS can get eight or more sacks to go along with Jason Pierre-Paul and Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett, that will be just wild to watch, and a friggin’ nightmare for NFL quarterbacks.

Could the Bucs defense be so dominant that it could carry them far into the playoffs? Hey, we’ve seen the Bucs do that before, haven’t we? 🙂

@joebucsfan i think Tryon will a beast and have a major impact for our team this year. And our offense will be be crazy BUT i think the secondary outside of Winfield, edwards, and Davis will disappoint you! DEAN is not who you should bank on this year…#GOBUCS and this is the number one site for all true bucs fan 💯

  2. Mort Says:

The defense and offense will both haul that sorry-ass special teams group to the playoffs again.

    Is it Thursday yet?

  3. Joe Says:

    Thank you Dre! 👍

  4. VegasBuc Says:

I didn’t know we signed #9 Cam Newton

  5. BradyBucs Says:

David, SMB, and Dean are all highly overrated.

I know I keep saying it over and over, but everyone seems to overlook them as the D’s biggest weakness.

  6. Crickett Baker Says:

BradyBucs, you can say it over and over but your voice is muffled by the place your head seems to be stuck in…

  7. Stanglassman Says:

Bradybucs. I just don’t think anyone knows what you are saying. Who’s David, LVD? I thought it was White that couldn’t cover. That got put to bed. Carlton Davis is a budding super star. The Bucs CBs have been playing really well for awhile now. Are they young, yes. As long as the defense is getting pressure on the Qb they’ll be fine. Give any NFL offense too much time and your secondary will get picked apart.

  8. Patrianakos Says:

Our secondary will be fine exactly as long as our pass rush gets there.

  9. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Our secondary is young but now has the confidence and experience under their belt. I think they continue to improve. Also, everyone knows, a great pass rush can make the secondary look and be that much better.

I strongly agree with u on JDean, he’s not who anyone should bank on, let me put it like this, Dean’s a sheep in wolves clothing. I’m still not sold on him. So what he luckily intercepted ARodgers. For the third year my naked eye don’t lie, he’s passive, timid, play confused,n seems to not know how to utilize his size n speed. In my opinion he makes specks of plays here n there. He reminds me of former Succaneer Myron Lewis. On the other hand, its rare to see a corner that hits like CDavis. I think SMB has improved. I just can’t say the same for JDean, I’m not sold on him. Watch the tape on him

  11. BillyBucoff Says:

Im giving Dean the benefit of the doubt until I see him blow coverage.
Still the fastest cover corner on the team.

There will be some receptions his way, bit hopefully less.

For you that dont remember he had like 13 passes defensed in limited time one year.

    Can’t say that’s bad sorry.

Somebody that says the same thing every time he opens his mouth like Brady Bucs is clearly wanting to sound right should it come true. I’m sure you have I told you so cued up right?

Say 1 thing different and please act you know what you ate talking about THIS YEAR.

  12. Bird Says:

    David is overrated now?

I think he has been one of the most underrated players over the last decade (9years)

  13. Hodad Says:

JTS, put an E in there and you have Joe turn on the jets. Joe flashed in every preseason game. He made at least one high light play in each small sample he played. Give him meaningful snaps for a whole game, and something good will happen. This kids got it, and is in a perfect situation to succeed.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

With JPP, Shaq, JTS & White on the field, I’m expecting our CB to get some sacks this year….last year they had none…..

  15. Alanbucsfan Says:

No Defense that wins the SB is overrated.
Bucs’ LB’s and Secondary are fast, talented and have more experience.
All DB’s get beat sometimes- like Coach Arians said, “Don’t beat yourselves “
Minimize penalties and turnovers and with some luck in the injury department -Bucs will dominate the league

  16. SB~LV Says:

    Smooth and so bendy !

    Gumby !

  17. Wild Bill Says:

Should be a peak year for Bucs defense. All the vets are healthy and the younger players got their baptism of fire during the superbowl run. It’s an experienced defense at all positions now.

  18. Infomeplease Says:

No Defense that can stop KC from scoring a TD in the SB is overrated!!!!!! DEFENSE!! DEFENCE!! DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!!

  19. Merlin Says:

Our DBS are not overrated. If anything nationally they are underrated. Did you notice how last year when our front seven didn’t suck they performed better? Asking our corners and safeties to defend three four seconds longer than the rest of the league isn’t fair. They are given equal assignment they perform as well or better than most teams

  20. Cobraboy Says:

I would be ecstatic of Tryon has an impact.

I look at edge pass rushers like QBs: few even high picks ever work out.

Big Win if this one does.

The rubber hits the road in 106 hours.

  21. mark2001 Says:

What a team. Can’t wait for this season to begin.

  22. DoooshLaRue Says:

Gee, I thought you couldn’t expect a early round DL/OLB to do much of anything in his first season?

And what have you seen that makes you feel differently Joe?
I mean all he did was play in 3 MEANINGLESS pre-season games.

Gotta call you out on your BS there.
    😉

  23. SOEbuc Says:

David is overrated? Why don’t Chiefs and Packers fans stay on their own site? And I LOVE this Dak Prescott bullspit 24/7. Do you know how much that fires up our D to put him out of the game on the first play. Brady loves to prove people wrong when they say he can’t win a Super Bowl and that also is a part of the Brady effect.

JPP, the Bucs lone pro bowler (lmfao)took 93 percent of snaps! If JTS can transfer his PS game to RS, JPP gonna so freaking fast and that rotation will be nasty. The only thing I think about is the percentage of snaps JTS gets.

  24. Mike Says:

I think JTS will flirt with double digit sacks this season. He’s too much for guys to stop the entire game. He’s going to shake loose sometimes and get to the QB. The Bucs secondary has another year in the system. They don’t have to think so much anymore. Now they can just get out there and play fast and aggressive. Winfield is going to take a leap in year 2 as well, so all in all, I think they will be improved from where they were last season. And White is going to be a terror! He’s ready to break out!

  25. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

“David, SMB, and Dean are all highly overrated.”

    I think he meant Davis.

I don’t think anyone that is a Buc fan would think LaVonte is over rated.

In a recent interview Casey Philips chimed in that LD was definitely the most under rated Buc and I agree.

  26. Austin Says:

BradyBucs…. if you just said Lavonte David is overrated then you need to GTF off this board and renounce your Fandom. David IS the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on par with Brooks and Sapp. How dare you

  27. Oneilbuc Says:

I think Dean is more of a safety than a coner back !! I will like to see him in safety this year.

  28. JeffreyLane77 Says:

I don’t see JTS getting 7 sacks this year. His playing time will be limited. (Barring injury). I would be absolutely thrilled with that. But the hype may be getting a little optimistic.

  29. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

“I don’t see JTS getting 7 sacks this year. His playing time will be limited. ”

I think Todd said that he might get creative with the DL this year so that JPP may give Suh a rest on obvious passing downs. This would allow JTS an opportunity to rush from the edge.

That being said, other teams might audible to a screen to JTS’s side to take advantage of his inexperience. D White and LVD should keep that in the back of their mind.

  30. JimbobBucsFan Says:

If we can get lotsa sacks from our OLB corps just think about the potential other sacks that will be contributed by the other linemen and the blitzers coming from our backfield guys.

Do I hear any predictions for new team records this year regarding sacks and TFLs?

    Go Bucs!

  31. David Says:

I am so psyched to see how this D line gets after it this year.
And the offense! I expect them to average 34 points or more per game
