“I Threw Them Off The Field Last Week”

September 22nd, 2021

Bucco Bruce Arians was fed up last week and was ready to change his initial approach to facing Atlanta.

That revelation came yesterday. The head coach was asked to comment on the Bucs starting fast with a precision touchdown drive against Atlanta, and he explained it wasn’t supposed to happen that way on Sunday.

After opening-drive woes in preseason and in the season-opener against Dallas, Arians said he punished the offense last week in practice and only the threat of rain Sunday put the offense on the field first.

“We talked a lot about starting fast and finishing strong. Offensively, it’s been a bad pattern. In practice, I threw them off the field last week and the defense started every day,” Arians told Bucs Total Access on WDAE Radio. “The weather was the only reason we took the ball [against Atlanta].”

That Bucs streak of good luck continues. Rain was never a factor in the game and the Tampa Bay delivered first-drive brilliance.

Arians loved the response by the offense and hopes its past whatever had it in slow motion to start games.

Boys better get their Sierra together before they step off that plane on Saturday!
Arm tackling a bumping players down has got to end!
That said I believe that they are mature enough and don’t need me to tell them that.
I think we will see a great Buccaneer victory
    LA Road Kill !

With so little preseason playing time I am not surprised the Bucs have not been at the peak of their game. They should look sharper as the season goes on. Practices are not like real game speed, etc. They have scored plenty of points so far but have looked flat at times as well. Let’s hope they hit a peak in execution against the Rams.

One of the problem with slow starts is the predictable run up the gut on 1st down…….we do it all the time.

Think this road trip is just what the Bucs need. Three home games in a row including the S.B., time to get out of Dodge. I know this Florida heat is making me lazy, maybe a little less humidity will put some pep in their step. Aside from crowd noise, being on the road can be less pressure to preform in front of home town crowd, and family. Being big favorites in both home games has been unrealistic pressure also, now we’re the under dogs in this game. All those factors I believe will result in a big road win.

Taamp; you are 100% right. I watched the gamecast of Carolina and NO and the Panthers did the same thing. EXCEPT they never stopped doing it from start to end. Mcaffrey 1 yd, 2 yd. They are basically playing with 3 downs. If 1st down doesn’t produce anything, which it didn’t, the defense can unload. But the funny part?????????They kicked the crap out of NO anyway hahahhahaha

Bruce, the only thing you’ve ever thrown is a cheeseburger and a Bud

I am not sure but wasn’t the first play against Atlanta a play action pass? I think I remember this because I was surprised by it. Anyway, Bruce don’t mess with the offense except maybe let Gio play more, Brady and BL have thT covered. These are professional football teams all considered underdogs so it’s common sense these players competitive nature and pride take over and want to beat the big dog. Look what Baltimore did to KC. The any given Sunday cliche is real. Get used to it you are going to see it all season, except against LA where we are underdogs, they should be worried.

Taampabaybucfan you’re dead wrong. Here are the facts, the Bucs have thrown on 1st down 38 times and run on only 21, one of the highest 1st down passing % in the league. They don’t run “all the time”

  9. webster Says:

Thank you phillybuc. You beat me to it. I am so tired of these buc fans that think they know what they are talking about and can’t be further away from the truth. Tampabaybuc is not the only one who spew this falacy. All the BL haters spew the stupidity too. Thats the era we live in though. If you say something over and over again even though there is no proof to back it up, there will be 35% percent of the population to believe it. Stop the steal

    I’m good enough
    I’m smart enough
and gosh darnit, I can run an offense better than BL from my keyboard!

Its not the offense. They are playing dynamic, if not mistake free, ball. We need to hurry, hit and sack the qb as we were doing at the end of last year. Our corners and safeties are having to hang with very good receivers way too long and is the main reason they look so bad in coverage. Pass rush causes turnovers. Get that done and we are unbeatable.

  12. Swampbuc Says:

Alton Green you are a raving imbecile.

  13. TampabayDJ82 Says:

PhillyBucFan , your absolutely right about that !! It’s been 2 games so far and if anything , they need to run the ball MORE !! Lenny’s first run of the game last week gained 9 yard’s ! Both backs were getting good yard’s after contact. When they stopped running it , that’s when our passing game slowed down

    Bradentuckeybuc , Lmao 🤣🤣 !! Love it
