History-Making Bucs

September 10th, 2021

League-first.

After pulling off an NFL historical first despite playing sloppy football in their first game defending their Super Bowl crown, might the Bucs be on another magical run?

Yes, Joe typed how the Bucs played sloppy. They should have lost. Really? Why does Joe think that? Well, per NFL Network producer Bobby Belt, the Bucs made NFL history Thursday night in their 31-29 win.

It was a game that spelled doom for teams since the NFL was born just over 100 years ago.

So yeah, Joe is pretty stoked to learn this. If the Bucs can play this sloppy and win, imagine what they will do when they work out all the errors?

    Amen. Juggernaut.
Joe please write a series about Vita. Maybe give him all of Tuesday. Can’t wait for Baldy. Had 2 of the best DT plays I’ve seen in my LIFE in the same half.

  2. UnderMeBucinHat Says:

Special teams was difference in this one?

  3. Medicated Pete Says:

We were trying to lose the game but Tommy wouldn’t let us

  4. Swampbuc Says:

I expect more slop. Dropped passes and too much off coverage. I thought Lovie Smith was calling the defense. Matt Ryan torched us last year. What from today gives anyone confidence that Ryan won’t do what Dak did?

  5. unbelievable Says:

    Lol. That’s is pretty nuts.

Agreed with the first poster, Vea was beastin tonight. Rest of the d line was inconsistent. Dallas’ o-line also doesn’t seem like a weakness for them anymore.

  6. BradyBucs Says:

    GAMEBALL TO MICKENS!

  7. Swampbuc Says:

    Agreed Mick was money.

  8. WillieG Says:

The Bucs always do the weird sh!t

  9. SlyPirate Says:

    9 wins in a row.

Some are bound to be ugly.

    Bring on Atlanta

  10. Swampbuc Says:

Atlanta can beat us. Anyone can. It’s the NFL and we cheer for the franchise that has defined finding creative ways to lose for 45 years. I want to see more run game. More PA passes. Less empty backfield. More press coverage. And our pass rush was asleep for most of the first half. Meanwhile watch Kansas City destroy the Browns and look like real Champs. We looked like frauds tonight.

  11. Buxszntkt Says:

Why were the bucs sloppy and Rusty and Dak who hasn’t played for ages including preseason just fine. Rusty not an excuse when the team we were supposed to outclass did fine !

  12. Youngbucs Says:

Tom Brady don’t need weak excuses those days are over win or lose!

  13. PSK Bucs Fan Says:

Amen Joe! And spare me all the dang drama. I will take a blowout next week. Please!

  14. snookman Says:

Game 1 of the NFL season is the true Pre-season. There is no film to study the week before as a reference. Dallas probably played to the best of their ability, we played at about 60% of what we are capable. Our QB is th smartest human alive. Our Defense will get passed on a lot this season because you absolutely cannot run on Tampa.

Its a long season lets hope we put it all together int he end like 2020……….Winning the SB is the hardest thing to do in sports…………..we have done it twice………..only 13 other teams in NFL can say that they have done that.

Be happy. We are finding ways to win games.

  15. Ozzie the Sports Junkie Says:

The Better team got it done , wasn’t the cleanest or error free but easy Elitist Bucs fans.. We got the W …The Defense has a ton of tape to work on as does the RB and WRs dropping balls that would have cost the Bucs the game for the past decade.
!0 days to have this coaching staff and Brady let these guys know the Super Bowl Party is OVER!
There’s another in LA in Feb but its still summer ..
Brady showed why he’s the GOAT
Gronk hasn’t lost a step” All he does is score TDs”
Fournette still cant catch outta backfield ..didnt we sign the NFLs top pass catching back??
We got to enjoy someone else’s KICKING nightmare’s. Wide right like 20 feet from 31 and Aguayoed the goalpost SO why not try a 60yrd that bounced at the goal line !WHILE Succup is MONEY IN THE BANK!! AND IN THE BLESSED NAME OF MICHAEL SPURLOCK AND THE REV VERNON TURNER WE JUST MAY HAVE A KICK AND OR PUNT RETURN MAN ….a first in these parts ..Its a win at Home in front of 65K in house for first time in years and we WON THE GAME!!!
A DECADE AGO THE HOME GAMES WERE blacked out south of SKYWAY so enjoy boasting tomorrow because while yesterday means nothing and the team needed wake up call THAT ITS GO TIME! they know how to win the SB now….

  16. Izod Says:

As long as the OL can hold up, this offense goes as Tom goes… When Brady is on like he was tonight, and that is his usual level, this offense is hard to stop.

  17. August 1976 Buc Says:

Buccaneers are the first team in NFL history to lose the turnover margin by at least 3, incur 100 penalty yards, allow 450 yards, and still win the game

TB 12 The great eraser, the difference maker and 1000 other adjectives about the GOAT of GOATS, is why the Bucs on this game.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  18. Howard Cosell Says:

The reason the Bucs pulled this turd of a game off and won was Brady

  19. Patrianakos Says:

The only reason this game was close was four giveaways.
Didn’t expect Chris Godwin to get butterfingers.
That said, Dallas’ OL showed up big.
I expect them to win the NFC Least now.

  20. Jerry Says:

This will be a weekly affair the defense will have to find an answer for. Elliott was shut down. They couldnt run the ball. So Dak threw it 58 times, mostly short and quick routes. It works. So teams will keep doing it. It’s exactly what Matt Ryan will do next week.

Offense needs to stop the turnovers immediately. 9 out of 10 times when you turn the ball over like we just did, you lose.

  21. CalBucsFan Says:

Lady Luck was on our side tonight, thank you sweetheart!

    Go Bucs!

  22. HC Grover Says:

Yo me this was the most fun game since Miami v San Diego back in the day. Great from start to finish. Real Football. Hope the rest of the year can match this gam but doubt it will. LOVED IT! R U ready for some FOOTBALL!

  23. August 1976 Buc Says:

Didn’t expect Chris Godwin to get butterfingers…..

We used to have Good Jameis and Bad Jameis,
now it is Good Chris and Bad Chris.

Chris looked like he did in the last post season. Not fun to watch.
Yes he made some plays and a TD, but he is way better then this Good Chris Bad Chris kind of play.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  24. Rod Munch Says:

Brady is on pace for 6443 yards, 68 TDs and 34 INTs.
Gronk is on pace for 136 catches, 1530 yards and 34 TDs
Godwin is on pace for 153 catches, 1785 yards and 17 TDs
Brown is on pace for 85 catches, 2057 yards and 17 TDs

    What a pace!

  25. Rod Munch Says:

Reminder, folks — do yourself a favor and go find some Cowboys podcasts to listen to, it’s so entertaining to hear them whinning and crying about the loss.

  26. Bucsfanman Says:

I thought the offense was “OK” aside from the plethora of fumbles. We moved the ball pretty well.
I didn’t like that Dak had all day to throw the entire first half. We gifted the Cowboys half their points.
    The penalties were ridiculous.
We better shore up that secondary because SMB isn’t coming back soon and we looked suspect.

  27. Onetrickpony Says:

Can you say over confidence ?

  28. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

I take back my 17-0 prediction!

  29. DBS Says:

The secondary will not be any better with SMB. He had a few good plays in the playoffs. But he is the same as he was last season. He will get toasted just like he did last night all season long.

  30. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Just three words for you . . . . . . EGG ZACT LEE !!!! They didn’t play poorly just sloppy. I put some of the defensive play on Bowles blitzing too much instead of allowing his front 4 to do their thing and keep 7 in coverage. I do believe they needed this close shave and that they will adjust and will become that attacking and opportunistic defense they became last year.

  31. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Yes Rod and they are on pace to give up

    6885 yards passing
    493 Points

    aaaand
    Score 527 points
    Go 17-0 on the season.

  32. Mike Says:

Pretty hard to believe we won that game with that many turnovers and penalty yards. Several penalties were absolute BS that were called on the Bucs, but that can happen sometimes.

  33. Youngbucs Says:

Anybody still hating on Brady is just a moron. He is a winner!!!!!

  34. Bucamania Says:

Glad they got the win but that game was really sloppy and should be a wakeup call for this team.

  35. James Says:

Dak is now 1-4 when throwing 50 or more passes in a game. Not bad Brees was 4-15, Payton was 4-13, Marino 5-11. Then of course there is our qb who is 19-9. If your name is not Brady don’t throw that much.

  36. Randy Says:

Can the idiots stop all the Travis Weenie Boy is the best TE in the league?! Gronk is the best TE in NFL History! Kelce couldn’t block an old lady in a wheelchair! He is the best oversized WR playing in the slot, nothing more. George Kittle is also way more man than the KC weiner. I think this BS talk about Josh Allen, Russell Wilson, and Patty Longchucks being better than Brady needs to stop IMMEDIATELY! If they are all so much better, why do they lose games and Tom have 7 rings? #SICK OF THE DISRESPECT!
P.S.-once again this year people are not giving Antonio Brown credit for easily being the best WR in Tampa and still top tier in the NFL. I know he acts like a child but, the talent is undeniable.
