More Joe Tryon Love

August 17th, 2021

Joe Tryon

Who doesn’t love fresh Joe Tryon hype?

Joe’s adoring every minute of it.

Tight end O.J. Howard was dishing it out today after practice. “Explosive, very athletic, you know, we saw what he can do in the [preseason] game,” Howard said of Tryon. “He’s going to be very hard to stop off the edge. I think he’s going to make a lot of noise.”

Rob Gronkowski said Tryon is “well rounded” in the pass and run game and, per Gronk, that’s what makes him “special.”

Gronk praised Tryon’s hard work and “explosiveness coming off the ball and just how strong he is and with his size.” Tryon is “challenging to block,” Gronk continued.

Man, just imagine if Jason Licht nailed Tryon at the No. 32 overall pick, a legit pass rusher in a league starved for them.

It should be some fun stuff watching Tryon square off against the Titans in practice tomorrow.

IMO we should wait on this hype amid he looks good…..He played one game he made one play when he was not covered against a backup couple…..Practices are VERY different than real game.
    He needs some time…….

  2. Buc1987 Says:

It must be just me when I say this kid looks too skinny to play DE.

  3. Infomeplease Says:

My suggestion to JT… Stay Healthy, Stay Hungry, and Thrive. Go Bucs!!

We’ll have more information then. I mean, what else are teammates supposed to say? Players were saying the same kinds of things about Noah Spence and right now he’s a free agent.

    😁

  6. Stonedbuc Says:

Love the kid, reminds me of a young Jason tayler. Let those hands develop a little more and get some tenacity and he will be a menace.

    Going for ✌️In a row

  8. Robert Says:

he does look too skinny. maybe he’ll beef up. I’m sure he’s fast at that weight and will get to the QB quick when unblocked…..but he’d probably be tossed to the ground in .5 seconds by DS or Wirfs….and I doubt he’s blowing past any interior linemen without getting knocked off his path.

  9. Buczilla Says:

Man, all of this sounds promising as hell.

  10. webster Says:

He looks skinny? Have you ever seen the photos of this man with his shirt off? Nothing about him says skinny. You guys need your eyes check. Jpp is listed at 6’5 270 and tryon is 6’5 263. What are you guys even talking about right now?

  11. Bucsalltheway Says:

Reminds me of a young jason taylor

  12. Dewey Selmon Says:

I already feel better about him than I have Anthony Nelson since he was drafted.

  13. Tony Says:

Yeah I would’ve taken either him or Ossai with that pick. So yeah he would’ve been my other choice.

  14. Mike Says:

He’s got JPP’s size and length and Barrett’s quick get off at the line. He’s going to be a terror!

  15. PSL Bob Says:

Everyone knew the potential this kid had. The only reason he went as low as he did was because he sat out the 2020 Covid season. He has the attributes (size, quickness, strength) to excel at the position and has two great mentors in Shaq and JPP to hone his technique. He will turn out to be a steal at No. 32.

  16. Robert Says:

his biceps look like they have never met a curl bar.

  17. 813bucboi Says:

nothing gets joe more excited than “nailing” a pass rusher!!…lol…

    GO BUCS!!!

  18. SlyPirate Says:

    Stonedbuc and Bucsalltheway …

    Jason Taylor – Joe Tryon

    Height: 6’6 – 6’5
    Weight: 244 – 259
    40 Dash: 4.55 – 4.65
    Initials: JT – JT

    Good call.

  19. Hodad Says:

Don’t need to hear the accolades, my eyes don’t lie. That kid is going to be a star. His first step is special, his bend, and closing speed. Just overall impressive.

  20. Hodad Says:

I’ll go a step further. Best edge rusher taken in this draft!

  21. David Says:

Tryon is the perfect size to be A great pass rusher.
He’s the same height and weight as Simeon Rice.
Same height and about 10-15 pounds heavier than Jason Taylor

  22. Cobraboy Says:

@zz: Tryon made more than one play. He blew up a bunch of others…

  23. SOEbuc Says:

Two more slam dunk rookies for the next four years if Darden and Tryon produce

  24. Brandon Says:

Tryon “looks skinny”…. okay. He looks more like Simeon Rice to me. Or JPP …or any other prototype edge rusher.

  25. DaBux Says:

If Tryon can spell JPP for 40% of his snaps and still perform, that’s a major win. A fresh JPP in the playoffs is a killer monster JPP. Same for Shaq.

  26. b4l Says:

Meh, the preseason hype is just that. They haven’t proven anything at all. They are going to have another slow start this season if they don’t get their act together.

  27. Rads Says:

He uses his wingspan very well against the run, not letting lineman get their hands on his breast plate

  28. kgh4life Says:

Can’t believe he fell to the 32nd pick, the Bucs got a steal.

  29. firethecannons Says:

Yeah–really amazing pick! Have heard nothing about any of the other edge/outside linebackers picked before him or after him in this draft. Mostly his athleticism and get off and motor, rest of it he can refine in short order with mentoring from the experts on this team. #GoBucs

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

As a Bucs fan, I have learned to give no rookie credit until he earns it on the field. After all, look at OJ. He’s practically a bust because of injuries. So many others could be mentioned as well.

Respect is earned. Until then, it is unrealized potential.

  31. WhatTheBuc Says:

Roberto said “his biceps look like they have never met a curl bar.” You’re either trolling or blind. I’m not going to personally attack Roberto because I don’t want to insult mentally challenged people.
