Dak Prescott May Come In Cold

August 11th, 2021

Waiting

Our beloved Bucs are a seven-point favorite in the home opener against the Cowboys in four short weeks.

That could change in a hurry.

Joe got the line at 6 1/2, then it moved to 7, and that could shift again with today’s news.

ProFootballTalk.com lays out that Cowboys QB Dak Prescott might play in the third preseason game — and that he might not play at all before facing the Bucs following an MRI of his bad shoulder on Friday.

Cowboys No. 2 man Stephen Jones was talking today about Prescott and claiming preseason is overrated.

That may be true, but it’s not overrated when you’re coming off a serious injury and haven’t played since Oct. 11.

A jacked up Bucs defense — and crowd — under the lights of The Licht House is not an ideal place for a quarterback to rediscover his rhythm.

Joe would not be surprised to see the Bucs as an eventual 8 1/2-point favorite by kickoff.

6 sacks. At a minimum. Please.

  2. Cobraboy Says:

I would love for America’s Team to be dismembered and embarrassed on national TV to kick off the NFL season.

I have thought they were the most overrated team in the NFL and never was that impressed by Prescott or that bad dog owner.

  3. IrishMist Says:

First stop Zeke. Then we’ll let our dogs out to hunt.

  4. Architek Says:

Please embarrass and crush the Cattle…

  5. Buc1987 Says:

I think I speak for many when I say.

I don’t like “The Licht House.”

    Okay carry on.

  6. SB Says:

20 point win Minimum. Start the season off with a statement.
I saw Greenburg picked week 4 as our first loss to the Patriots!
Can’t WAIT to rub that sh** in his face when we beat the Pats by 4 Tuddys

    Agreed. It’s the New Sombrero.

  8. IrishMist Says:

I’m watching episode 1 of Hard Knocks. And I’m smiling.

  9. SOEbuc Says:

    Agreed. New Sombrero.

  10. SB Says:

How did my post completely disappear Joe?

  11. SOEbuc Says:

I was watching Cowboys camp on BSPN, and Jerry has them practicing in a large, ugly park outside of housing project. I was shocked. The Bucs do have one of the best facilities.

  12. Buckaroo Boozie Says:

Could see the Bucs as a double digit favorite over crumbling cowpokes

  13. Wild Bill Says:

Back in the day “America’s team” made me want to puke. Everything was supposedly bigger and better in big D. I had to go there frequently on business and turned down a lucrative job offer because I could not stand the bloated attitudes. Business men in suits but wearing cowboy boots and cowboy hats ya all. No thanks. Loved it when their bloated ego crashed and burned.

  14. Howard Cosell Says:

So refreshing to hear “Licht House” instead of the dreaded DoD we knew for so many many many years.

Speaking of which: How are the Bucs going to honor Brady? Howard would say ring of honor at the very least. Brady broke the curse. Crushed it if you will. Brady ain’t afraid.

  15. EA Says:

Almost time to comment on some real games

  16. Jerry Says:

As long as the Bucs dont get too full of themselves and overconfident, the Cowboys are going to get crushed.

  17. Denny Gay Says:

I too, would love nothing but to lay the wood to the Cowboys and the NFL Network. 49-3 free be awesome.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

I don’t know if it really matters if Dak plays in the preseason or not – if he’s healthy, he’s one of the best QBs in the game and can put up a lot of points. Still, being at home, on opening night, I expect a nice beat down since the Cowboys defense should be awful. Still, if Dak is healthy, they’re going to put up a lot of points I think, so even if the Bucs get up by 21 in the 3rd, they had better stay on the gas.

  19. Medicated Pete Says:

Dak’s gonna be seeing ghosts when Vita Vea ragdolls the Center & Guard

  20. German Buc Says:

@Buc1987: Did you like ‘Den of Depression’ better?

  21. The Red Mirage Says:

He thrusts his fist against a post and still insists he sees a ghost.

  22. Roy T. Buford Says:

Look, there is no question the Bucs will be Tenneesee ready. And that statement should be sobering for Bucs fans.

I would be thrilled if the Bucs win by one point. Let’s not start pretending like this can be some blowout. Remember how Rocky III started. The Bucs are a good football team if we go back to how last year ended. That’s ALL we know.

  23. Roy T. Buford Says:

I will accept the Licht House only if we can rename Dale Mabre “Brady Way.” Sure, Licht got Brady here but let’s not fool ourselves on who had a bigger impact.

  24. HooverBucsFan Says:

I thought the MRI was a second one on his shoulder and not his ankle Either way he will be limited in the preseason and that should mean more rust.

  25. Jason Says:

“The Licht House” just doesn’t seem to carry enough weight for me. Lol.

  26. Jmarkbuc Says:

Licht House is silly, especially since he was about to be run out on a rail..until BA got here.

No Stadium is nick named for a GM.

  27. AtlBuc Says:

I remember when Ezekiel Elliott clowned us by jumping into that Salvation Army kettle. It’s time to get revenge for that!!

  28. AtlBuc Says:

    @Rod Munch
Dak is one of the best QBs in the league based on what?? His salary? What’s his win loss record? What’s his playoff record? His last 3 seasons were 10-6, 8-8 and 2-3. And that is with a great offensive line and one of the best running backs in the game.
I just don’t see it. We will blow them out and I will be disappointed if we don’t. People are saying we are the hunted this year. They can hunt but they can’t kill!
