O.J. Howard Is Working But Not Practicing

July 25th, 2021

The picture sort of says it all here.

“Juice,” aka fifth-year tight end O.J. Howard, is at training camp today but is wearing a visor and not practicing. He’s not ready yet, even for underwear football. But Howard has been working with trainers and catching passes.

Get well soon, O.J.

The atrophy of his calf is evident. I wonder if that is normal/expected at this point?

Hard to miss what you never really had.

Every sensible Bucs fan should be more concerned with Cam Brate.

  4. Jason Says:

    Where’s his floppy hat?

Achilles injuries take roughly a year to fully rehab post-surgery. It will affect his explosiveness. Generally speaking, it’s easier for a big-ugly to return to full effectiveness post-Achilles surgery than for players who rely on quickness and athleticism. Let’s see how OJ handles the challenge.

  6. SlyPirate Says:

Brate and OJ are out. Gronk is going to get a lot of work.

Always interesting how a team’s deepest position gets depleted in an instant.

  7. Joe in Michigan Says:

SB~LV: You do realize that OJ Howard has played in 42 games for the Bucs, right?

    trade him…. liability…trade him

  9. Wild Bill Says:

Bucs may have to pick up an experienced blocking tight end so Gronk can run more routes.

Same O’le story please do not sign him after this season.

  11. The Deflator Says:

Crazybucs_cl, if he’s such a liability, nobody is gonna give anything for him in a trade.
