Gamblers Like The Bucs

July 11th, 2021

Joe never thought the day would come.

Joe will visit his good friends with MGM Resorts in Las Vegas for a few days of R&R (and lots of Crown Royal Reserve on the rocks) before training camp begins. It’s Joe’s annual summer getaway to the desert. So naturally, Joe is doing extra football research on the side.

(This almost smells too good to be true.)

So last night Joe came across this interesting tidbit from Darrell Rovell of Action Network. More cash is being laid on the Bucs to win the Super Bowl in February 2022 than any other team. No, really.

At most sportsbooks, a $100 bet on Tampa Bay to win the Super Bowl would return $700 if they repeat as champs.

For some reason, Joe likes that the betting public has much more confidence in the Bucs than the mouthy Chiefs.

Famed JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman‘s good friend Jay Kornegay, the chief wiseguy at the Westgate Superbook, which basically controls the lines in Vegas, still has the Bucs with a season-win total of 11.5.

Think that’s still good for Joe to drop cash on the over?

Saying his toe is perfectly fine….Patrick Mahomes split Hell wide open w/ that lie.

Well maybe now people will attention to the guys who deserve recognition for the Slo Bowl like LaVonte, Devin, Shaq and Mr. A Winfield himself. Too many years LaVonte has been snubbed!

  3. Buczilla Says:

I’m not very savvy at gambling, so I’m wondering how the hell the Broncos came in third?!? Maybe it’s the crybaby Aaron Rodgers rumors I guess.

  4. Pine Hills Says:

    Bugzilla, good point

  5. SOEbuc Says:

Uugggghhhh. Some how I forgot about this terrible score system. I don’t know what the hell 11.5 means. At least 14-3 all I know.

Don’t care for the SB bet on teams at the top of the board. If I was ever going to bet on SB future I’d go with a dark horse bet, maybe Steelers at 40/1. As far as week 1, I liked the open for Bucs week 1 vs Cowboys at -6.0, but now it’s at -6.5. My favorite week 1 bet would be Atlanta -3.5 vs Eagles.

  7. sgrd0q Says:

In all fairness, this shows if the bettors’ perception is higher than the bookmaker’s odds. Many people think that betting 100 to win 700 on TB to win the SB is a great bet and the money goes there. If the bet was 100 wins 1000 you will have even more bets. If the bet was 100 wins 100 there will be zero takers.

    UNDEFEATED!!!!

  9. Bird Says:

Most people think getting back to super bowl would be impossible with CBA , free agency and salary cap

But we have a guy (who plays the most important position in all of team sports) who has been to the super bowl half as many times as years in the league . 10 in his around 20 years in league. 😮 He was injured in 1st game of one year and didnt play rest of season so lets not count that.

So yah…the bucs have a 50/50 chance of getting to super bowl 😂
Kind of kidding. But not with the goat.
Just think how crazy that is? The best to ever play…decided to come to tampa bay (ha – that rhymes)

And to think there are still some who dont want to give brady is credit on this here site Clown show starts with you know who and a few others. You know who they are

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Non gamblers like the Bucs too…..Has anyone else noticed that there are countless additional Buc fans…..mostly because of Brady…..and many are women……they love the guy & now they love the Bucs.

So…on September 9th…the Old America’s Team will meet the New America’s Team

  11. Beeej Says:

My interest is in the 17-0 aspect (Chiefs were rated slightly higher than the Bucs. Anyhow, I put down $50, which would return $2500 if they pull it off

  12. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Buczilla, very good point. Further, it is even more shocking that Broncos are 3rd, and neither the Rams nor the Bills are in the top 5?! Wow

But LOVE seeing gamblers believe in our Bucs!!!

  13. Irishmist Says:

Not sure I like this. Now the mobsters who run the sports books have an incentive to pay off the refs to make calls against us.

  14. Bosch Says:

Taking the over is a no brainer.

  15. Joe Q Says:

Joe, make the bet. Don’t worry about the 11.5 wins prediction. Brady and company will easily beat the number. Brady will put together his best performance in his 21 year career. The receivers and running backs will have numbers that are unbelievable.

  17. Chris Boyd Says:

i will say this, its common knowledge in the betting world that if you fade the public, you win money in the long run I sure hope the public is right on this one!!!
