Joe doesn’t think it is a shock that the Bucs cannot do everything this season like they did last season.

Teams adjust. Opposing coaches had all offseason to find a tell or a potential crack in the armor of the Super Bowl champion Bucs.

And of course, every team will want to put the Bucs’ pelt on its wall this fall. When you stand on top of the mountain, you are a target to get pulled down.

In this NFL Network video below, James Palmer explains what Tom Brady and the Bucs hope to do differently this year. In their offseason throwing sessions, they worked on a very specific project they hope will provide an edge when it comes to the expected adjustments of opposing defenses.

    I know that Giovanni Bernard was a back up on a sh!t team, but I think his addition will pay dividends for our passing game overall.
    That will be one more thing for our defenders to worry about when many of them are way down the field out of position covering our receivers, and suddenly a sure handed running back is peeling off yards, coming out of the backfield.

    We will be changing and adapting just as much as other teams will be, rest assured. There’s a reason Tom Brady has had success over 2+ decades, it’s certainly not because he’s trotted out the same offensive attack week after week, year after year.

    One of the biggest changes this year will be the addition of a pass catching RB. No longer will be forced to watch Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette’s stone hands. While often joked about, adding another dimension to this offense will make it near unstoppable. Think about how often we’ve seen Alvin Kamara or Christian McCaffrey destroy us with passes out of the backfield. Now imagine that with Brady and this team. Scary.
