Parades Motivate Mike Evans

June 11th, 2021

Get the boats ready.

Of course, Mike Evans will likely say the five biggest moments in his life are when he got married, the births of his three children, and winning the Super Bowl.

But the parades after the Super Bowl win were high up the list of Evans’ favorite memories, he said yesterday.

Parades? Yes, parades. Plural.

Of course, Evans took part in the raucous Tampa boat parade to celebrate the Super Bowl win.

“That boat parade was unbelievable,” Evans said. “That was one of the best things I have ever seen.”

There was also a second Super Bowl parade. In Evans’ hometown of Galveston, Tex., the city threw a parade in his honor. Even gave him a key to the city.

“Seeing all the people I grew up with, people that have supported me since I was a kid playing Little League football, it was a very special moment for me and my family,” Evans said.

So how does Evans stay motivated after suffering through so many years of rotten football to finally reach the mountaintop? Easy. When Evans is sweating his tail off, he thinks of those parades.

“It’s definitely extra motivation,” Evans said. “When I am out there [at practice] tired, I’m thinking about that boat parade and that parade in my city.”

Remembering that boat parade, Joe can’t imagine any Shaq Barrett, Jason Pierre-Paul, foot-rubbing, car-littering Rob Gronkowski would ever be bored by another parade. Certainly not park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved. Bucs-Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Harry wants another parade! Getting to sit in RayJay with my wife watching the Bucs dominate the Chiefs, then see confetti fall from the heavens was something we will never forget, it was amazing! #RunItBackBucs!!!

Best WR in team history, and he’s right up there with Mr. Derrick Brooks in terms of greatness as a person.

ModHairKen … That’s an interesting discussion.

Is Mike Evans already the greatest Buc in history?

He owns every WR record for the Bucs. His 7 consecutive seasons of +1000 yards bested Rice, Moss, and every other HOF WR.

With a SB title on his resume, I think he’s there.

  5. PSL Bob Says:

I love Mike Evans. A true professional and class act!

Selmon is the greatest Buc, but Evans is certainly the best WR and best offensive player the Bucs have ever had.
