Only One Man Stands In Bucs’ Way Of Super Bowl

June 4th, 2021

Hopping on Bucs bandwagon.

Recently on “Good Morning Football,” seen weekday mornings on NFL Network, a debate developed about what obstacle could stop the Bucs from repeating as Super Bowl champions.

NFL Network’s It Girl, Kay Adams, believes that one speedbump is a man. And his name is “Aaron Rodgers.”

Provided Rodgers continues playing for the Packers.

“I would say, the biggest threat, the biggest obstacle, the biggest challenge is Aaron Rodgers returning to Green Bay,” Adams said. “Getting a deal done and returning to the Packers. That is, in my opinion, the only team in the NFC that can really do damage and hold their weight against this juggernaut returning 22 [starters].

“Even Green Bay’s defense… this is a defense that picked off Tom Brady a bunch when they played each other.”

Adams has an interesting point. Three times in the NFC title game the Packers picked off park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

(Joe wonders how much of that, if any, could be attributed to Brady’s bum knee?)

But would Brady throw another three picks if the Bucs played the Packers again in the playoffs? Seems a stretch to believe Brady would be that sloppy a second time in such an important game.

And if Rodgers isn’t playing for the Packers this fall? Adams suggested Bucs fans might want to start booking a flight to Los Angeles in February.

“I think if Aaron Rodgers does not go back to Green Bay and ends up in Denver, it’s got to be whatever team is strong enough out of the AFC whether it is the Chiefs or the Bills or the Ravens or whoever,” Adams said.

The Bucs in the City of Angels in February. There are far worse places to be at that time of the year.

By the way, on Rodgers and the Packers: Doesn’t Rodgers seem to always find a way to lose a playoff game? It’s almost a holiday tradition.

we slapped AR around in 2 games last year…lol…

no MAN can stand in our way…only a GOAT!!!!….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  2. Medicated Pete Says:

Rams I’m more worried about. I wanna see Rodgers outta the NFC so badly

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

we beat GB when Brady threw 3 picks……enough said.

  4. SB Says:

Let’s just start with Spanking Dallas.

One squeeze of the trigger at a time.

Same goes for Brees, lol, but we don’t have to worry about him anymore.

  6. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

Aaron already has a deal, that’s the problem. He can’t get out of it.

    Run the rack! 28-0!

  7. Dano407 Says:

Absolutely no one is talking about the Rams . They pose a serious a threat in my opinion.

  8. Darin Says:

Dont be worried about the Rams Petey. Losing good players year after year catches up. Count all the premium draft picks as players too

  9. Pine Hills Says:

    Oh, Joe.
That was a heartless slap at the drama queen Rodgers.
    Love it!

  10. JimmyJack Says:

The only thing that sucks is that we didnt win the division. So we dont get to see Suh inflict pain onto Rodgers during the season.

Its a shame. That would be a fun game……I dont know why the NFL didnt use the 17th game to match up rival teams. For sure they would have given us the Packers if that were the case.

I really dislike the way the scheduling works. It was so much better back in pur glory years when they used to set up rivalry…….Back then they had us play the Rams every year because the 2 teams couldnt stand each other. It was great great football. Why they ever did away with that boggles my mind. They literally made footbsll less fun. Idiots.

  11. Joe Says:

Back then they had us play the Rams every year because the 2 teams couldnt stand each other.

Actually the reason was in those days the NFL made sure division winners from the previous season played each other the following regular season.

  12. SOEbuc Says:

Same bullish!t, different year. Sounds like SAS saying Rodgers is the GOAT before the playoff game. Love how we were the underdog in every round of the playoffs except for the WC. Rodgers was pouting like a little girl after the NFC Championship. 1-5 NFCC? I’ll start to believe when I actually see. Might I add three of Rodgers six picks in the regular and post season.

  13. SOEbuc Says:

    * Might I add three of Rodgers six picks in the regular and post season were by the Bucs.

  14. Defense Rules Says:

@Dano407 … “Absolutely no one is talking about the Rams . They pose a serious a threat in my opinion.”

Agree 100% Dano. Can’t take ANYTHING for granted in the NFL. Articles like this really concern me because they get everyone all hyped up, and 99% of the time they end up being horsepuckey.

Making it to the playoffs, then through the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl is getting tougher & tougher & tougher IMO. Even The GOAT hasn’t had an easy go of it, even though he’s won the SB 7 times. The margins of victory in each win? 3-3-3-4-6-10-22 points. Yup, in our 31-9 win we posted the widest margin of victory for Tom Brady of any of his SB victories, by a factor of over-2. Still, those were incredibly close victories, and realistically most could’ve gone either way.

There are any number of teams who most likely will be better in 2021 than they were in 2020. The Rams may very well be one of those teams, especially with Matthew Stafford at the helm. If they can protect him, he’s an outstanding QB. Stafford’s 31 fourth-quarter comebacks since 2009 are most in the NFL, while his 38 game-winning drives since 2009 are second-most in the NFL behind the Saints’ Drew Bees (39). Don’t sell him short.

  15. Swampbuc Says:

    Rodgers is such a b!otch.

  16. David Says:

I expect Rogers to be back in Green Bay and they are going to be tough. It will not be as easy for the D.
That said, I don’t expect Brady to make some of the dumb throws the second half like he did last time..

  17. Mitch Says:

The strongest teams in the NFC are the NFC West minus the Cardinals, and GB. That’s it. The biggest postseason threat I think about are the 49ers. They are a well rounded football team.

  18. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I expect Rogers to be back in Green Bay as well, mainly because Green Bay is in the drivers seat with him, financially.
They have played nice, so far, but they can demand he pays back the 30 million bonus they have paid him.

  19. PSL Bob Says:

I think Patrick Mahomes may have something to say about it also. Yes the Rams may be a road bump on the way to the NFC championship, but Adams is talking repeating as SB champs, and I have a feeling KC will be the team the NFC champs will meet in SB LVI.

  20. Mitch Says:

@PSL Bob the segment was about NFC opponents, and she went off script because if Aaron doesn’t come back to GB she doesn’t think the bucs can be stopped in the NFC.

  21. Miller5252 Says:

I gotta agree with Joe on Rodgers…. he just can’t get it done in the playoffs. He’s a lot like Payton Manning. Great regular season QB, but when it really matters they both found a way to lose.

  22. Joe Says:

he just can’t get it done in the playoffs.

Well, he did once. But it’s been a while. 🙂

  23. Kobe Faker Says:

“This Kay Adams look and smirk above

is so reminiscent of all the girls Kobe has had relationships with

    both drunk or paid for

every time Kobe drops his pants

Kobe gets that exact Kay Adams look like that picture above

Its such a mood killer that sometimes Kobe just tells them they can leave and keep the $25”

    Kobe Faker

  24. Joe in Michigan Says:

The Rams secondary did a great job against the Bucs in last year’s game, and that was with the Bucs O-Line doing an incredible vs. Aaron Donald. The Rams seem to be a more formidable opponent than Green Bay with Rodgers, IMHO.

  25. Pickgrin Says:

The Bucs defense stepped up big time in the NFC Championship game.

Brady throws THREE interceptions in the 3rd Quarter and the Defense stonewalls the Packers offense on 2 of them and I think only allowed 3 points off those THREE perplexing misfires by the GOAT.

How different the conversation this offseason would have been all the way around if Rodgers had taken off for the end zone and scored on 3rd down their last possession of the game….

No Super Bowl – no boat parade – no redemption – no adulation – no JOY.
Just a sick feeling that we “almost” got there and our TRUE Savior was more than mortal to end the season throwing THREE interceptions in the Championship game……

Just think about that alternate reality for a second – that hinged on Rodgers faulty split second decision to try and force the ball to a covered man instead of take off for the end zone himself and he likely would have scored……

  26. AtlBuc Says:

AR is a selfish DIVA. He does not have the mental toughness to handle adversity. As long as his good offensive line is protecting him and he’s throwing dimes, he’s happy. But, when he gets knocked around and hit in the mouth (ala Suh, he transforms into a little butterfly. People in TV Land can see fear in his eyes and I’m sure the guys on his team can see it too.
Maybe they should jettison AR and let Love play. At least they will have a tougher team.
No matter where he goes, they will be good enough to make the playoffs but their wussy leader will not lead them to a SB victory.

  27. 6throundpick Says:

Winning is fun. This Bucs teams wants to get on the field. SHOWTIME! And playing good teams…more fun. No problems, only solutions.

  28. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

Right Joe,I said that,, wasn’t 100 o/o but that’s what I thought and I also said I thought the AFC or NFC Championship winners and losers from the previous year used to open up the season,,that was the best

  29. BucEmUp Says:

My darknhorse thisnuear for the superbowl is the REDSKINS!!!!! (YEAH I SAID IT)

Fitz will be playing with the best defense in his career, a tremendous running game and really good offensive weapons.I may throw $100.00 at it for sh!ts and giggles. They were good with crap at qb, I think fitzmagic will have a comeback tour this season

  30. JimbobBucsFan Says:

When Green Bay brought in Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre reportedly wouldn’t give him the time of day. At the time I thought Favre was being petulant. Maybe, he saw something he didn’t like in the guy.

    Just speculation of course.

  31. Nowhereman Says:

Kay Adams is an idiot Rodgers is overrated & with or without him Buccs will be in LA repeating. Has she seen his post season records after his one and only SB win lol !!! This is why women especially those that don’t know sports shouldn’t talk sports .

  32. GoatWatcher Says:

If Julio goes to Seattle may be trouble. But really, Bucks look like a frigging juggernaut.

  33. Tony Says:

There’s a good chance it might end up being them & KC in it again. But you never know with Buffalo Indianapolis Cleveland & Baltimore because they’re getting better. But it wouldn’t surprise me if it does end up being both of them again next year. Yeah I think LA would probably give them more problems out of anybody right now.

  34. Charles Elliott Says:

How many times does TB12 have to beat Aaron Rogers before y’all get it?

  35. Jg Says:

It girl? Good Morning Football? Shrager and the …it girl are unbearable. The NFL network wastes the Morning with their drivel. AR is a selfish diva. He’s a choker. And a jealous cry baby.
Love his facial expression after a sack or interception. Biggest pouter since Peyton Manning.

  36. stpetebucsfan Says:

I still marvel at some of the jackwagons who continue to low rent AR. It’s freaking absurd.

He had to wait his turn on the bench after being drafted 20 spots below where he belonged by a team with an HOF QB in Favre.

Then the Pack drafted a QB in the first round instead of improving the rest of their team. Talk about disrespect. It’s one thing to take a shot in a later round with somebody like Trask but how would Brady have reacted if we traded up a bit for Justin Fields or Mac Jones?

Meanwhile…AR WON A SUPERBOWL!!! DREW BREES WON A SUPERBOWL.

I dislike the Saints but Brees was a great player with the same # of SB’s as AR.

AR might have another SB if his coaching staff hadn’t gone braindead at the end of their game with us. Stop low renting people and respect opponents.

    D.R.

You may have hit on the most under covered story of the offseason. Yes the Rams are really good, talent, great young coach, and Matthew Stafford still has tread on his tires. I expect big things from them.
