Tom Brady’s Knee

May 26th, 2021

Health report.

So we all know now that Tom Brady worked out and presumably threw passes to Bucs receivers on Monday.

There is no publicly-released video footage of the workout session at the Yankees minor league complex on Himes Ave, where it’s assumed that Ryan Griffin and Blaine Gabbert threw passes alongside the Bucs’ park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, Super-Bowl-winning quarterback.

What we do know is that Brady wore a wrapping of some sort around his left knee, based on photos. Safe to guess that’s the knee he had surgery on this offseason.

Brady called the procedure ”pretty serious” on a recent podcast. The Bucs said it was a cleanup. Joe guesses if you are the one going under the knife, it’s major.

So how is this knee of Brady’s? Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians was asked after OTA practice yesterday.

“He felt great yesterday,” Arians said. “I talked to him [Tuesday] morning and he said it’s the best he has felt.”

Those are encouraging words but there’s a whole lot of vague there.

Look, Joe is not going to panic. If Brady is in shorts and a T-shirt and a floppy hat when training camp starts in two months, then Joe’s going to have to start eating Lisinopril.

    – but we have Trask, the future savior! lol

The knee is largely irrelevant for Brady. He does not run and does not make sharp cuts. Pain free and functioning knee to handle the weight transfer in the throwing motion is all he needs.

  3. Medicated Pete Says:

Install 2 titanium knees in TB12 after this season & he can play 10 more years for us

  4. Bird Says:

Brady pays big bucks for his trainer and supplements

    I trust the process

  5. Beeej Says:

Knee problem COULD have been the cause of his deep passing problem that lasted a month or two

  6. TOM Says:

If the OL keeps him upright especially Smith, he’ll be ok.

  7. August 1976 Buc Says:

Tom will be just fine for games 1-20, fire up the Juggernaut. GO BUCS!!!!!

  8. JimBuc2 Says:

Joe, about that Linsinopril, not after 4pm if you expect any sleep. Trust me on that.
    Go Bucs!

  9. daniel Da Man Says:

Repaired knee or not .. it will be a target this year. I hope the BUCS big d keeps TB safe while he movies the ball.

  10. Jmarkbuc Says:

I thought Ryan Griffin was “dropping dimes “ at one Buc?

  11. SlyPirate Says:

Start Gabbert. If BA thinks so highly of BG, let him start against DAL and ATL. Then ensure TB12 is 100% for the remaining 15.

I would have been upset if he didn’t bandage to protect that knee. Ever have an injury or surgery on a joint? Not a bad idea to protect it from a twist or misstep. Good idea Tom. You are still rehabbing, and it would be quite silly for you to take unnecessary risks. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tom wear some support on both knees this year.

TB threw 50 tds and 5700 yards including playoffs last year. If that’s him on a bad knee wow!

  14. Phil Collins Says:

Brady will play for awhile guys , much to the dismay of his wife .

I think it’s safe to say he’s playing past 45 and good for him if he does.
