“This Is Awesome!”

May 12th, 2021

Worried for Dak Prescott.

With the announcement that the Bucs will host the Cowboys to kick off the 2021 NFL season on “Thursday Night Football” for the entire world, NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” is already stoking the hype bonfire.

Sitting around their breakfast table, co-hosts Kay Adams, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager and Nate Burleson were all picking apart the game as if they were hosting a pregame show.

Visibly, it looked like they just walked out of an escape hatch, being able to talk real football for a change for the first time since the Bucs were making confetti angels on the turf of The Licht House.

“This is awesome!” Brandt bellowed of the Cowboys-Bucs matchup. “What’s this young [Cowboys rookie] Micah Parsons got cause there is another middle linebacker on the other side, Devin White who is sort of [Parsons] embodied in a pewter helmet.”

Brandt added of the matchup, “You cannot go wrong.”

Closet Bucs fan Schrager wants to see how $140 million man Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott handles the same defense that, last time we saw them, chewed up and spit out Pat Mahomes and Cheetah Hill.

“I am fascinated to see how this Tampa Bay defense comes out of the gates because everybody’s back,” Schrager said.

Adams wondered what is going through Prescott’s mind. Her favorite saying is “Careful, careful.” And she basically said that about Prescott facing Shaq Barrett, Jason Pierre-Paul and Ndamukong Suh.

“If you are Dak, do you love this, going up against this defense?” Adams asked then punctuated her question with “Oouuff.”

How cool would it be to see Prescott running for his life to stay alive, just like the Bucs’ pass rush did to Mahomes in February?

You can see the full discussion of the Cowboys-Bucs season opener in the NFL Network video below.

The most important question for Cowgirl fans:

How good is there backup QB?

  2. DingleBerry Says:

    [Thank you. — Joe]

Unless you were doing your best impression of Bobby Bacala.

“You know, Quasimodo predicted all this.” – Bobby Bacala

“Who did what?” – confused Tony Soprano

“All these problems, the middle east, the end of the world.” – Bobby Bacala

“Nostradamus! Quasimodo’s the hunchback of Notre dame.” – Tony Soprano

“Oh, right… Notredamus.” – Bobby Bacala

    >>> How good is there backup QB? <<<

That's an Ira Kaufman question. He's always more worried about a clipboard guy wearing a baseball hat than players who play.

  5. Tye Says:

Missing much of last season, coming off a horrible injury, a gimpy Dak can’t be thrilled this is his 1st meaningful game back after what the Bucs did to Mahomes and company…
Not expecting a competitive game at all!

  6. Iamabuc Says:

Oh I can see it already.
“Dak Prescott,….. running for his life!!”

  7. Pewter Power Says:

Don’t be that arrogant media and fanbase, 2002-2003 season didn’t translate and we dominated that super bowl too. This is a different season and if we dominated every team like we did the super bowl that would be different but we didn’t we took advantage of a banged up o line.

  8. catcard202 Says:

My only worry at this point is injury bug related…Pre-season games = more chances for starters/contributors to get dinged up or lost for the yr in meaningless games.

On Paper, this should be a “W”…But the Bucs need to get through the pre-season unscathed/uninjured, 1st.

  9. Swampbuc Says:

Stay healthy and hungry, lads! Young secondary needs to be as on edge and alert as in the playoffs. They are the youngest and most vulnerable to the subtle mental letdown “we got this” thing.

Offense – Pound it, play action it deep, screen it, rinse repeat. Let’s GOOOOOOO!

  10. Bird Says:

    Sweep the leg. 😂

  11. Swampbuc Says:

PS – Kay Adams is coming over for lunch.

Seriously. Well not really. If it were true, it’s because she lives in my neighborhood. She’s 5’6”, about 220 pounds, 48 years old. Looks nothing like the NFLN Kay.

  12. Kobe Faker Says:

    “Closet Bucs fan Schrager ”

These words could not be truer

  13. Buc4evr Says:

I’m still pissed off about the 38-0 divisional playoff loss in 1982 and the garbage talking cowpokes. I hope the Bucs make them walk the plank. I truly hate Dallas.

  14. Bucsfanman Says:

I can’t stand the Cowboys! I don’t care how we do it, we just need to beat this team. Start the season out right by beating the most over-hyped team of our generation.

  15. Thisisouryear!! Says:

How good is the cowboys offensive line? If the can eliminate pressure from our front 4 it exposes our secondary. I can’t wait to see.

  16. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

Props to the Bucs for the SB win. But while reading all of the posts about Dak running for his life etc…many seem to have forgotten that in the Sb the Chiefs were playing two backups at tackle. Dallas most likely won’t be.

It is not a foregone conclusion that Dak will be running for his life my friends.

  17. DaBux Says:

TB12 will have our samurai primed for this one. I would not want to be Dak returning with a new line, new faces, and bad coaches.

  18. SlyPirate Says:

Cowboys offensive line is solid, Zeek is back, WR are solid.

I just don’t believe their defense is good enough.

  19. 941Boltsfan Says:

    Oouff

  20. Mike28277 Says:

Joe: Kay has that “ really Joe….leaving me for Rachel Watson?” look on her face.

  21. SB Says:

^^^^^^ LOL Mike!!! I see it now!
    Thanks!

  22. David Says:

I’m sorry I got distracted by Kay Adams… You were saying?

  23. David Says:

    SlyPirate
The Cowboys offense is good but their o line is not what it used to be.
Their defense was not so good last year.
I think Brady is going to have this team trying to show the world that they are not done yet.
I am going to predict a complete blowout-
    Bucs 45-17
