No Respect

May 30th, 2021

Dissed.

Joe is starting to figure out why there has been an exodus of NFL columnists fleeing Bleacher Report in recent months, like rats off a sinking ship.

Joe, for months, had the sneaky suspicion a lot of Bleacher Report’s NFL columnists only watch BSPN for their NFL news, highlights and information. And maybe only SchlockCenter, which is the worst.

Take this Chris Roling, for example. In a column he posted on potential “Under the Radar” 2021 breakout players he included Bucs defensive tackle Vita Vea.

Roling exposed himself when he cited the reason Vea might break out this year is because of the PFF tribe’s grade.

(Roling had Cam Akers and Michael Pittman as “under the radar” breakout players. Both were studs on playoff teams, man. smh)

Vea, under the radar? Dude, the only reason Vea is under your radar is because you have your friggin’ radar off.

Quit watching Red Zone Channel and start watching games. You know, cough up some cash and go watch condensed games from NFL.com if you don’t have the time (and you can write it off on your income tax for research).

For anyone to suggest Vea is “under the radar” tells Joe they don’t watch games, that’s all there is to it. Not even playoff games!

He probably had a hard time choosing between Vita Vea & Devin White……

    Just laziness…….

Bucs and their fans never get any respect. I went to join gamblers anonymous and they gave me 2 to 1 I wouldn’t make it. So I left and told the cab driver to take me where the action is, and he took me to my house. No respect I tell ya!

I dont think joe or some here understand what breakout player means. Cam akers nor pittman were close to 1000 yard producers or high volume of touchdown getters, 2 and 1 respectively. I would not call that studs. You add that to the fact they were both ROOKIES and its safe to say 85% of football fans have no clue who they are. Joe you were bashing rojo just last offseason and he was coming off a year were he had more yards and tds than cam akers had this past season yet cam is a stud? As for vita, yea we buc fans know him but not many nationally. The talk is about white, david, barrett, jpp and suh defensively. Plus vita has to stay healthy for a season which he has not done yet. If he does and cam and pittman take that 2nd year leap, then they will be breakout players. Its really simple. Nothing wrong with the author’s assestment.

    Well said Joe.

  8. Jonzey Says:

White, Vea, Davis, Winfield all should be on the list

    And Wirfs

  10. Medicated Pete Says:

No one watched the Bucs until we got TB12 & even then they performed badly on National TV & Vita was injured. All Lazy ass media could talk about in previous years is JW’s turnovers b/c they never actually watched a game

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Vita Vea is not a stud until he can stay healthy. I like him a lot, but let’s be honest here.

We got to the playoffs for the first time in over a decade without him. And that’s the problem. We need him to be there during the regular season too.

  12. Cobraboy Says:

Remember when casuals said Vea didn’t make the pass rush better, and spouted some casual nerd stats?

And then Vea returns for the playoffs, and the pass rush dominates against the best of the NFL.

Kinda reminds me of Kucherov & Stamkos returning to the Bolts for the playoffs.

lol lol Joe you NAILED it “Vea, under the radar? Dude, the only reason Vea is under your radar is because you have your friggin’ radar off” lol lol

The numbers against the run when Vita plays the last 2 years are honestly historic, and Vita is a huge part of the front 7 getting pressure becuase of eating up blockers and pushing the pocket into the QB’s face.

Teams are less inclined to run when Vita is in there, so that creates even more opportunities for sacks.

This person is exposed as far as the Bucs are concerned, he is just whistling by the graveyard. GO BUCS!!!

  15. Duane Says:

Vea is an ascending player and is likely to have one of his best seasons. Last season, the improvement he was working on was getting push from the middle. I totally disagree with perceived durability issues. Guys that play violently in the trenches get hurt. His injury was due to friendly fire. We have been extremely lucky the last few seasons that our trench players have survived that grind. I think we all found out what we needed to about Vita when he worked his ass off and played in the post season.

Idiot including the starting nose tackle of the number one rush defense two years running? It’s the Chris (tree hugger) baker of sports writers. I guess so since he’s still getting paid for trash work, can’t knock that hustle I guess but who’d be under the radar on a super bowl winning team lol how weird

  20. Kobe Faker Says:

“How do you say in Samoan

It will be a 17 game season not 7 games”

    Kobe Faker

  21. Tc Says:

He’s 340 lbs, he is not under the radar, lol!

  22. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

There no better NT in the league than Vita Vea! Perhaps Vita not completing a full season due to injury is a factor.

  23. Chris K Says:

We who see know. I’m done caring about those who don’t. We are lucky af to have Vea tossing lineman around in the middle of the field. He’s a great fit to what we do with our defense.

  27. unbelievable Says:

Eh, I suspect many more casual football fans still don’t know Vea, or at least he’s not a household name yet.

Let’s not forget the Bucs have not been relevant in any way u til just the last year.

That said, yeah bleacher report is wack.
