So many Bucs fans proudly think about their fearless leader as a vocal guy lifting teammates with the right words at all times.
But that’s not Tom Brady.
Veteran defensive tackle Steve McLendon, who logged 10 1/2 seasons with the Steelers and Jets before he landed in Tampa at last year’s trade deadline, told CBS-TV 46 in Atlanta that Brady is definitely not that guy.
”Tom is probably one of the most laid back guys,” McLendon said. ”He’s cool. You would expect when you’re playing against him that he’s like this super leader, like this just super-vocal leader. He’s not that guy. He’s a guy that’s going to lead by action.”
McLendon went on to talk about Brady delivering two speeches to the whole team leading up to the Super Bowl. Previously, Joe had only heard of Brady giving one on gameday. McLendon added that those were the first words he heard Brady speak to the team all season. (Remember, he arrived in October.)
”Everybody clown on Tom when he talk because he’s so soft-spoken,” McLendon told the Atlanta TV audience.
(Side note: Joe loves thinking of random Falcons fans having to endure a Bucs’ Super Bowl story on their evening news.)
Soft-spoken or not, McLendon said, Brady ”touched the soul” in that final Super Bowl speech and moved the team.

Brady made a good point about off season training. Mid-season training makes little sense. Baseball doesn’t do it. And if I play for the Bucs but live in NY how do I train at the facility in Tampa? Ridiculous. If they want another week of training camp add another week. But forget mid-season work unless it’s via zoom.

I don’t think about Tom being the Patriot’s QB any longer. I think of him as a Buccaneer.

When you have that big Diamond Super Bowl ring on your finger you can pretty much say anything you want. You’re a champion. You’ve achieved your dream after many years of sacrifice. Enjoy it because it’s often short lived.

No matter how you say it the Bucs are the talk of the world. Every day news pieces about our Bucs flood the internet and TV. How did we go from “not worth mentioning or “Tampa Bay who?” or even better “I didn’t know Tampa Bay had a team” or my personal favorite “I thought they were orange, when did they change?” Yes friends we can thank 4 key pieces that changed all of that 1 the ownership. They got tired of losing. 2 Jason he knows generally speaking what he is doing. Sure he has round 2 cough ups but nobody is 100%. 3 Bruce Arians. Man knows how to run a team and gets to the heart of a matter fast and finally 4 Tom Brady the GOAT. ALL OF THAT PUT US ON THE MAP KIDS.GO BUCS!!!

I still want to hear the transcript of what Brady said in the huddle on the second to last kneel down to win the SB.
Even the announcers admitted he was throwing language bombs. That’s the moment they realized it was just the setup for two in a row.

If you speak at a Chamber of Commerce meeting you deliver it one way. If you’re hanging with friends at a local tavern you speak another way. At the dinner table with family still another way.
Communication is whatever works best for you in a given situation.

I give credit to the team not one guy remember the bears , Gaints, and both of the saints games. First – watch the video link. Watch it. Steve is well spoken and extremely animated with his delivery. He’s engaging. Period.
Second – all he did was remove two S’s in the sentence everyone is mocking. An S at the end of “clown” and “talk” – which is absolutely done in a fun, slang way if you watch the video.
So – those of you mocking him are clueless and don’t even have a grasp on understanding CONTEXT — which is far more important.
