The greatest living Buccaneer has a birthday today. And Mr. Derrick Brooks is celebrating.
To make you feel old, Derrick today is now four years older than park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady, who just led the Bucs to the first Super Bowl since Brooks was in his prime.
Joe wishes Derrick a tremendous birthday. And may he have many, many, many more.

Never forget them sayings BUCS took a chance on a Tweener who was much smaller in size to the traditional LB’s of the time
We did the same a couple years later when we drafted a RB that was entirely too small to run between the tackles… LOL. At # 13 Overall Warrick Dunn was selected.

Happy Birthday, Derrick! Thank you for making me so proud to be Buccaneers fan from New York! I will never forget meeting you at the University of Tampa during training camp when the football rolled to the fence in 1997! You are the epitome of a Good Human Being and one of the Greatest to play the game! Especially for OUR Tampa Bay Buccaneers! I wish you the best Birthday; and many, many, many more! -Dean
