“Yeah, They Can Be Better”

March 24th, 2021

Improved offense?

Yeah, it always saddens Joe to turn on the TV in the morning, flip back and forth between “PFT Live” and “Good Morning Football,” and Kay Adams has the day off.

But Joe’s spirit was quickly uplifted yesterday noticing the gang on the “Good Morning Football” set was talking Bucs. In particular, the subject was can their offense improve.

Two critical free agents are still mulling their futures: one is Playoff Lenny and the other is furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing Antonio Brown. “Good Morning Football” co-host Kyle Brandt is of the mind if Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht can truly pull off keeping the Band of Bucs together, that yes, the offense can improve significantly.

How so? Brandt believes retaining Brown is the key.

“It feels like he was untapped,” Brandt said, while acknowledging Brown had 45 catches (plus 8 in the playoffs) last season.

Brown seemed that he “just showed up. Did his Antonio Brown thing. The numbers are there. … And yet there was still this feeling that ‘When Scotty Miller is on the field, the offense is more electric.’ I don’t know if [the Bucs] will bring [Brown] back but it says a lot of interesting things about how this team is built. Antonio Brown was there because the GM, Tom Brady,, wanted him there. …

“If he comes back and he’s Antonio Brown, yeah, they can be better.”

Brandt is onto something, Joe believes. Remember, Brown only played half the regular season. And in the first couple of games he was just getting his NFL sea legs after playing only one game of football since 2018.

Joe has it ringing in his head how Bucs quarterback coach Clyde Christensen told Pat McAfee right before the Super Bowl that the Bucs offense was “eight games” away from peaking.

So yeah, if all the chess pieces return, Joe also will say the Bucs offense can still improve after averaging 30 points a game, including the postseason.

I’m all for signing AB on the cheap. Nice to have especially in case of injury.

Kay adams is a little skinny peanut. Compare to a real woman in Denise Milani

  3. Winny Testaverde Says:

I believe Brown is a key piece who will make a big difference in a few critical games. Very quiet on the Brown/Fournette/Suh fronts. There are likely deals out to all 3 in some form…should be interesting. The tight end position should be interesting to watch as well with Howard coming off a major injury and Brate pricey but clutch…catching the Lombardi Trophy and whatnot.

I have free agent fatigue. Suh, Brown, 4net, repeat.

It’s all been said to ad nauseam.

Speculate on new FAs, draft picks, schedule, coaching, 2022 FA, offseason workouts, NFCS. Anything but those three.

Kay adams… “Yeah, They Can Be Better” vs. Denise milani

  6. Joe in Michigan Says:

I didn’t have to look up who Denise Milani is. Hahaha. Wendy Fiore isn’t too shabby, either. She’s a Chicago girl.

  7. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

I’d take Kay. I like spinners, not big fake ‘personalities’ that look like they should be grazing in a grassy field.

  8. Mark2001 Says:

Joe. They should call Kay the rose of Chicago….. Among, the cold, the wind, and sometimes a stench in the Windy City, that cutie sprang forth….America’s lady broadcaster.

  9. Buc4evr Says:

So when are the Bucs going to do something about AB,Suh, and Lenny? Is it that the Bucs have no more cap room or is something else going on? Inquiring minds want to know?

Senor Harry, I whole heartedly agree. LOL

Kay Adams is nice but I think Colleen Wolfe is my favorite.
