Stephen A. Smith On Antonio Brown Not Playing For Bucs: “It Makes No Sense”

March 24th, 2021

Has thoughts on Antonio Brown.

Screamin’ Stephen A. Smith is confused by all this chatter about Antonio Brown.

Perhaps agent-generated, talk has bubbled to the surface in recent days that Russell Wilson is trying to lure the Bucs’ furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing free agent wide receiver to Seattle.

SAS took to the airwaves of the four-letter to explain this just doesn’t add up for him.

“Antonio Brown has found happiness,” SAS said of Brown playing for the Bucs. “It’s not just about the money. It’s not just about the no-state income tax in the state of Florida. We get all of that.

“He wants his money. But in the end, him being happy, that matters.”

Then SAS made an excellent point. No, really. Wilson has been making noise of late to try to pull a Deshaun Watson and get himself run from Seattle because he is fed up with how coach Pete Carroll runs his offense.

Also, Wilson is irked that Carroll doesn’t put more emphasis on an offensive line. In short, Wilson is tired of getting blasted and beat up.

SAS asked why would Brown want to put himself in the middle of all of that nonsense when he’s got it good with the Bucs, holding hands with his bro, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady?

“You found Utopia in Tampa plus you are a reigning Super Bowl champ,” SAS said. “It makes no sense.”

Joe wholeheartedly agrees.

  1. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Antonio Brown benefits from Tom Brady and Tampa Bay, and Tom Brady and Tampa Bay benefit from Antonio Brown.

  2. Bird Says:

I watched that super bowl video last night
    Pretty bad arse

And yes …brown was getting touches at end of year after sitting out a year. Just like gronk. He will have his football legs back next year
    Sign the man.

Sign him and suh before lenny

  3. Sport Says:

AB has to be on a incentive deal. We don’t have any clue as to how many games he will play this year or going forward due to pending legal issues.

If he is our WR insurance policy, we need to double stack coverage.

    In BA I Trust!

  4. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Smith doesn’t say anything, he screams it. And if he doesn’t sign with the Bucs he will make it about race.

  5. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

SE Bucs Fan right on, SAS and Max the dolt are the uber woke crowd and have ZERO clue how they are able to have a show with how ill informed and racist they are on basically every single topic that they decide to volley in their pea sized coconuts

  6. Aceofaerospace Says:

I’ve said it since free agency started, being happy is more important than money, especially when you’ve already made millions. I believe our signings are proving that.

  7. Chris Thomas from Heaven Says:

I just want the Bucs to sign someone today. Need my fix

  8. zzbuc Says:

    Dork…..tha’s what Steve A Smith is…..a Dork!!!!

  9. Buc4evr Says:

Not sure what the Bucs are doing but AB is a number 1 and when Evans and Godwin have injuries this year AB can easily cover for either one of those guys. Come on Licht just sign him and get it over with.

  10. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Buc4evr is exactly right, AB is a #1 receiver. What made the offense so good was the threat of Evan’s, Brown and Godwin, the TE’s, Scotty & Johnson are all bonuses. Why would you messed that combo up? AB hasn’t made money in a few years and his life style and attorneys I.am sure are costly. Pay him 5 mil and be done with it. That’s a piss hole in the snow if he goes haywire. He won’t because Brady is his guy and there is mutual respect there, a bridge he cannot afford to burn.

    Does the #76 extension count?

  12. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

Been saying it since free agency started – sign AB…difference maker in year two in that system. Who are you going to double?: ME13, Godwin AB, Gronk…or a RB to be named later that can catch out of the backfield.

  13. rrsrq Says:

AB would be a bonus, (play on words) at this point, TB12 made sure you got to meet some of those incentives. I’m not mad if he returns, but still feeding a returning OJ and whoever the other RB is, playoff Lenny, KSV, James White or the rook they are going to bring in and you do know ROJO is working on those hands

    “…Need my fix.”

-Don’t you have your rosary? That’s what it’s there for.

“Then SAS made an excellent point. No, really.”

-THAT’S some funny ish right there! Well done, SI Joe.🍻

  15. Mr POUNDTOWN Says:

    Blah blah blah..

  16. David Says:

I agree. It all depends on where the Buccaneers stand with the salary cap right now. At this point, they basically need to sign him and the rookies. I just can’t imagine they have enough room to sign Lenny back as well

  17. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Brown would get not only a great QB in Seattle, but he would also benefit by being with Metcalf, who is a great receiver like he is.
Plus, he will probably get more money that we are willing or able to pay.
I dont want AB to leave, but he has to do what he has to do.

  18. SOEbuc Says:

SAS says? I would expect AB back in the next five minutes if that’s the situation.

  19. Eddie Says:

SAS is right. Look at the big picture. AB thrived in Tampa and won a SB. Good chemistry means a lot.

  20. CleanHouse Says:

These cats wanna get paid and respected and they both should be.
They should not accept any alternative narrative. They were a BIG part of this team winning the Super Bowl.

  21. Gerry Ortiz Says:

Antonio Brown only played 1/2 the season and his production was low due to the circumstances. He should be back next year with Brady to light it up for the entire season and a second Super Bowl then he might think about another team once he assumingly overcomes court in December. Being a winner with 2 years removed from any incidents which Brady can help him with and multiple Super Bowls and no court liability hanging in the way; This will bring his liability risk down and in will come multiple offers bidding on his services driving his price up instead of just Seattle. This is the best card for him to play.

  22. BUCFAN4LIFE Says:

AB’s not going anywhere . Brady convinced BA and JL to sign him , Brady let him live in his house (Mansion) and “coached him up” to not be a “Diva” anymore and just focus on his “role” and he produced and’s still a dangerous threat to Defences . Brady made AB finally “see the light” .

  23. Trey Long Says:

Seattle would be a disaster for AB.
Tampa gives him the right kind of home and supetv
With golden boy at the helm.
