Best In The NFL

Dancing for turnovers.

Most NFL coaches are obsessed with one stat: turnovers.

NFL coaches are convinced that if their offenses can play mistake-free football, they will win. That’s not always the case but Joe understands how this gets old school coaches worked up.

This also makes Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett all the more valuable. Not only can Shaq put quarterbacks on the ground and chase them off their spot, he is the best pass rusher at getting turnovers (specifically forced fumbles).

Since the start of the 2019 season, no pass rusher has caused more turnovers on quarterback pressures than Shaq. He has 12.

A sack is a fantastic thing but if a pass rusher can force a fumble off a sack, that’s game-changing stuff there.

For those who wanted Von Miller over Shaq. Von just went back to Denver for 18 million salary for the 2021 season.

Those Turnovers are caused by Shaq. Not JPP. Not Vita Vea. Not Suh.

Glad we resigned Shaq – the most important piece of keeping the band together. Pot Belly and All!

The broncos must hate themselves right now

  3. Buc50 Says:

    Spot on geno

  4. Bird Says:

Look at the other edge rushers. Floyd and bowman and others. They cost almost same as shaq. We got a deal.

  5. 813bucboi Says:

    licht will bring back suh….

we just have to worry about depth….imo, thats our only weakness….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  6. Pickgrin Says:

Pretty sure “Turnovers Caused by Pressure” includes interceptions as well as forced fumbles.

This is yet another reason why paying Barrett all that $ was necessary. He’s best in the league at directly causing turnovers.

  7. Swampbuc Says:

For the idiot who called Shaq potbellied and wanted him gone……..

    Do they get any dumber?

  8. Chris Thomas from Heaven Says:

Bucs making all the right moves has given me tears of joy for over a year now

  9. Adrnagy Says:

Once again , ppl in here talking not knowing football. Let’s start with how shaq got free to pressure qb? I’m assuming base on your intelligent comment , vv,suh, jpp and blitz where not on the field. Oh that’s right. Shaq was the only player in the line of scrimmage. ….lol

Put stats of the last 4 yrs. then we can talk.

  11. Louis Says:

Now that we have made major inroads to re-signing our free agent players, the attention to the draft is paramount. Finding ball players who love football, and coaching them up means thoroughly scouting the college ranks. This draft class will be filled with eventual backups and debth able to step up. This will be the legacy of the 2021 draft class. No starters are immediately needed, but they must be ready when they are the next man up

  12. PSL Bob Says:

I knew if we got within $2 mil of what the general market was offering (consensus was $20 mil), he’d take the deal and run. To me it’s a win-win. He gets a big payday and can stay in a system he knows and loves and the Bucs get to keep the star pass rusher fans have longed for over all these years.

  13. No Risk It No Biscuit Says:

Great that we got him back.

Now we need to get the real #93 Suh, Succop and James White rb. Let Lenny walk.

    Go Bucs!!!!

  14. Steven007 Says:

Adr, geno was simply pointing out the fact that Miller, who’s older and coming off an injury and hasn’t been nearly as productive as Shaq for the last few years, is going to get paid more than Shaq is here. I’m pretty sure he’s aware of the fact that the defense works as a unit and neither Shaq nor JPP could generate much pressure without that push up the middle.

  15. JoeB Says:

Over-under on how many times he strip-sacks Jameis this year?

  16. August 1976 Buc Says:

Why bring up 4 years when discussing Shaq, when his first 2 years as a full time starter are in Tampa. Why be dismissive of Shaq just to keep making points. Shaq’s value is obvious. 31.5 Sacks in his first 2 years as a FULL TIME starter in the NFL. That many sacks has been done by on a few players in the history of the NFL in a 2 year period of time. And then all the other things he contributes to like this post by Joe. Why would Shaq get 17 million a year from the Bucs? So many players and coaches speak highly of Shaq, Are they just full of it? Are they just blowing smoke? Why did so many think Shaq was going to leave? Because he was going to get paid well. Shaq is an excellent player and one of the BEST in the NFL. Thank you J Licht and Brady for an amazing offseason in 2021. GO BUCS!!!!

  17. SOEbuc Says:

Ok Joe. Let’s move on from Shaq now and talk some other business. Love they’re keeping them together and I think that was a great contract with $4M in incentives. One thing scary about guys that break the bank they might slow down in preparation or play. Show me the money Shaq!

  18. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Adrnagy I’m interested to see just what signing will ever make you happy.

  19. TOM Says:

All I want is the best player for us going forward.
You wanted Winston, I wanted Brady. I have won rounds 1-9 of a 10 round fight.
I doubt you win round 10 either. Just your skill set of evaluating compared to mine.

Ardnancy, whatever her name is, sounds like a 14 year old girly boy constantly trying to not understand football. Climb back in that libtard transgender ideology hole of yours and leave football to the men.

  24. David Says:

So glad he’s back. Everyone was trying to say it was vea , and I love Vea, he was fantastic. Or JPP … and they can’t afford Shaq … and we can draft someone or sign someone else… No.
It’s a combination of that entire line just like it’s the combination of the O line. The units worked awesome together.
They just got better and better. Now they have an off-season. I am telling you… This team has a chance to be historically good.
    Offense- 35 points a game
Defense- 18 points a game or less

With today’s offenses, that would be phenomenal for the defense. And the differential I predict is +17 per game.

    LFG!!!

turnovers are the most important stat in the game joe. doesnt matter if you throw 5000 yards.
