Tom Brady Writes Handwritten Letters To Bucs Employees

February 26th, 2021

Old school

It’s been said that Tom Brady is a big fan of pencils, paper and old school notes.

Now Bucs fans know those 20th-century implements are not just for football.

Tampa Bay outside linebackers coach Larry Foote had a long NFL career and won two Super Bowls with the Steelers. He also played two years of college ball with Brady, and he jumped right onto Bucco Bruce Arians’ Arizona coaching staff after retiring from the Cardinals following the 2014 season.

Foote is a fun guy and recently sat down with the All Things Covered podcast and told a Brady story.

Foote is impressed how Brady works not only the locker room and opponents — “he’s always trash talking” — but the entire organization.

“Humble guy. I think [Brady’s] got a little bit of politic in him because like, I’ll give you a little inside [scoop]. Like just people throughout the building. he’s writing handwritten letters to them, just talking about how he appreciates them,” Foote said.

“He speaks to everybody. Everybody’s comfortable talking to him. He’s signing autographs all day long. You know, people taking pictures with him. And he never hesitates. He’s always just speaking to people; he’s just that guy. That’s why it’s easy to follow him.”

What a great share right there.

Foote also went on to say Brady commands such respect that he would “get the offense up at 8 a.m. to go over last-minute adjustments” on game days and everyone would comply without a complaint.

    He’s like an Angel 😇

  8. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

People I know in New England are quite mad they allowed Tom Brady to walk.
An interesting statistic is, more people watched this Super Bowl in New England per capita, than we did here in Tampa.
That shows you the enduring Love that Brady commands, even from a team he left!
We are so fortunate to have him!

  9. Chuck Elliott Says:

Tom has never forgotten where he came from.
He has overcame adversity and achieved the level of success that his peers can only hope to emulate.
He has and continues to work for what he wants.
I’ve admired the man his whole career. Sheer will, determination, and the desire to get better is what puts him into another realm St his position

  10. Virgil Slick Says:

Bob Craft allow him to leave after Bill belichick ran him out of town to try to prove he can win without him. I wonder how that worked out ? There is a football God!!!! X Pat’s fan, always a TB fan ,Go Bucs!

  11. adam from ny Says:

how secretly furious is bill belichik ?

    #GirlsLikeToSaySecretlyFurious

  12. Youngbucs Says:

A true face of the franchise even if it won’t be for long.

  13. AlV Says:

I mean Boston is a much bigger city with more people then Tampa so it’s a no brainer more people would tune in there.

  14. Steve S Says:

I was a Patriot fan all my life and a huge Brady fan, I knew the type of leader he was. A rare commodity today. When the Pats discarded him I was disgusted. I became a huge Bucs fan in 2020, watched every game I could, watched game highlights online, subscribed to Tampa newspaper, followed fan blogs. Couldn’t have been happier when Bucs won SB. Appreciate Brady and Gronk while you have them, Belicheck and Kraft sure didn’t, treated both like trash

  15. Steve Lahey Says:

#12 Class act! Goat! Happy he got #7. Great defense w/ him too. GO FOR # 8. As a season ticket holder in Foxboro can’t wait to give him a standing ovation when Buc’s visit this year.

  16. Casual Observer Says:

Sure hope he stays with the Bucs in some capacity after his playing days. As many on here have noted, he is an outstanding human being and one of the finest leaders one could ever be associated with.

  17. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Brady is up at the crack of dawn writing letters and meeting with teamates.

JW is looking for some crack at dawn….calling Uber after a night of drinking with Ronald Darby.

  18. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

I have watched him his whole career at NE, you never heard stories like this because Belichick never let the team or staff speak. These are traits that prove how comfortable and happy he is in Tampa. Think about it, you’re a 43 yr old QB in the NFL, your coach wanted to move on from you but ownership over ruled his decision and off you go to a very talented team with a history or losing and the culture showed it. In steps Brady surely with some doubt works his ass off, gets the coaches and team to by in and poof SB champs. Good for him and Great for Tampa. Belichick can kiss his arse.

  19. Mustachechuckself Says:

We here in Boston love Tom and Gisile great role models great family Toms talents transcend his love of competition Bruce Arians is a great leader many here have followed since the Colts days. We are well versed in NFL We were heart broken but wish the Bucs greatness They play every game of Tampa Bay up here. Because TV is not stupid most NE fans know all the players on Tampa and talk of them as much as our Patriots. Bill B. Is a great coach but sometimes why he does things is head scratching If they bring back Cam Newton We will continue to watch Tampa Bucs We all are fans of the team as much into it as you great sports fans Now you know why we love TB12.

  20. Richard ciccarella Says:

Here in nj, we love tom brady, please continue doing the same things next year. U are an inspiration to all of us.

  21. Todd1287 Says:

I’m so happy he ended up where he did. Not happy that the worst decision in sports would have him leaving New England and I’m lucky enough to watch him play here! But the way he looks off the feild and how comfortable he is in tampa He’s having fun!! Nobody deserves it more. Congratulations Tampa Tom wins FK BB. BB is being exposed for the fraud he is now! Nothing without TB12.

  22. Rob S Says:

“AIV” Please look up what “per capita” means. 🙄

  23. BucDAWG Says:

Shows a great leader, teammate , and member of not only BUCS NATION but the Tampa Bay Community, thanks for the memories and hopefully a couple more years of our Captain. GO BUCS !!!!!!!!!

  24. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Richard, you love him in NJ??? Are you being facetious? Nobody loves Brady in Jets land or in NY. He beat your ass for 2 decades.

  25. JimmyB Says:

When your the best, complacency to your greatness is forgotten from those who benefited most after time. Those are the idiots and losers,

  26. Beej Says:

Brady reminds me of a good military commander—his people AREN’T following him because he orders them, or they’re aFRAID of him…they believe in the guy and believe they can’t lose with him at the helm

  27. Wesley Says:

    He was obviously raised correctly.

  28. Oneilbucs Says:

Tampabaybucfan What you mean about Jamies looking for crack ?? I can read between lines I know you are a white person for saying some trash like that . Tell me what Fitzpatrick is looking for or big Ben ?? Brady got caught cheating and it was just a couple of years ago yall were calling him cheating Tom . Now yall for got about that and now he can just say how you doing . And every body on this site just marvel at him !! Lol lol lol 😁😆😆😆 !!

  29. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

ONeil if someone is making racial slurs Joe should ban them from the site. Brady hot a 4 game suspension for deflated balls. Tyree Hill broke his son’s arm and got nothing. (And NO it’s not about race) , players are hyped up on steroids, pain killers, cocaine and everything under the sun. Every year there are domestic violence cases. I think Brady was pretty severely punished for his outrageous crime. Give me a break.

  30. Oneilbucs Says:

I know you can’t see it are you don’t care but I know what he’s talking about when he mention crack towards Jamies . Their has never been anything drug related about Jamies . And yet he brought up a drug that has destroyed poor black comuintyes. I know what he’s saying . And as for Brady I see on this site yall are going to make the superbowl all about one guy just like the media did to the Patriots !!!

  31. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Oneil, 8 SB’s, common denominator Brady. It’s apparent your problem is that he is white. He does win superbowls.

  32. Oneilbucs Says:

He don’t have 8 bro and again Brady don’t play defense . Go back in see how many bad defenses that Brady played with in his hold career and you will see my point . And when it comes to color of a quarterback I can care less about that . But I will always call it like I see it when it’s right in my face . And again the quarterback I want is Kyle Trask for the future of the team . I think he can learn behind Brady with this type of offense running the ball and and short to long passes he will develope good and fast . Kyle Trask !!!

  33. 6throundpick Says:

Tom & Gisele are the gooderest. Big Cheers!!

  34. Kaimaru Says:

Oneilbucs, I agree with you. It was a racial slur. As far as your comment about his defenses. Only 3 times in New England that he had a defense DVOA in the top 10. So you are factually wrong on that.

  35. kaimaru Says:

Oneilbucs, I agree with you. It was a racial slur. As far as your comment about his defenses. Only 3 times in New England that he had a defense DVOA in the top 10. So you are factually wrong on that.

  36. gp Says:

    @ Oneil
    Chill dude!
It’s obvious that the “crack” in reference is not the “crack” that you seem so concerned with.

  37. Oneilbucs Says:

Kaimaru Bro the Patriots has had a good defense all of Brady career in New England . If they wasn’t top 10 over all . They were top 5 in scoring wich is the stat that matters most. A lot of people believe that a scoring defense is how points the defense score . But the true meaning is how points they give up a game . It’s been times where they give up yards but they didn’t give points . And that’s the stat that counts .

  38. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

I feel so lucky as a Bucs fan since ‘96 and a Brady admirer since 2001 when they upset the stinking Rams, that we have this guy leading the team.

  39. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Oneil I count Philly as a win and Belichick lost that one for him. How about 10 total SB’s. I to recognize that as a racial comment and uncalled for. My point was you favor Winston over Brady and the reason has to be something other than playing ability because there is no comparison. Of course a team needs a good defense to get to let alone win a SB. How about the elite defenses he beat? Carolina, Seattle, Rams, Philly? Without def Manning never beats Carolina in SB, he threw for 143 yds. Again, defense did not score 30+ points against GB, KC, both Atlanta games & especially Washington.

  40. lambchop Says:

I took crack to mean booty since Winston’s off the field issues have revolved mainly around chicks. There are probably more F’d up white dudes on hard drugs than black.

When you think of the stereotype of a heroin addict, does a black dude come to mind first?

Someone posted something online about JW and crack. OMG, let’s have a meltdown. Everything isn’t racial, sometimes it’s just ignorance and stupidity.

  41. lambchop Says:

Also, the person who posted crack was using word play to reverse “up at the crack of dawn”. Chill the F out. I HIGHLY doubt he thought to slander JW first and think, hmmm, I can reverse the slander and make Brady look good at the same time.

  42. Oneilbucs Says:

Listnfrmafar What about the first superbowl Brady only threw 3 touchdown passes in the hold superbowl run . The first superbowl was the defense and they won with a 48 yard field goal . The Seahawks was bad coaching . They can run that play 10 times and the Seahawks will win all 10 times . But for the Jamies thing to me is just because I don’t hate Jamies are wish him the worst are bash him like every one does on this site . I have been move on from Jamies . But I will never bash him or wish him the worst in life . I just wish the rest of yall would move on and stop compareing him to a guy who been in the league for 20 years. And I will tell you this as well if we do the next quarterback the same way they tried to develop Jamies he will fail to. We can’t keep blaming the quarterbacks . This franchise has never develope a quarterback in the history of the franchise . I give Brady credit he don’t take chances and I’m glad we won . But I still want a young quarterback that we can develope. Go bucs !!!

  43. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Oneil, Oneil, Oneil, you really need to get your facts straight. Brady came in first a 1st round pick Drew Bledsoe after he was injured. When Bledsoe became healthy again Brady still remained the starter over the 1ST ROUND PICK and won a SB. See where I am going with this? Came to Tampa, NO OTA’s, new team, new coaches, new play book. Replaced a 1ST ROUND pick QB that played with basically the same team and AGAIN won a SB.
