Tom Brady Is Texting With Adrian Peterson, Who Explains Why His Heart Is With The Bucs

February 4th, 2021

Courting Adrian Peterson?

Bucco Bruce Arians has said he loves his former Cardinals running back, Adrian Peterson, and it seems Peterson is quite tight with Tom Brady and has a fondness for another Buccaneer.

Hmmmmmm.

Might Peterson be wearing Bucs colors next season, if Leonard Fournette departs for a fat contract and LeSean McCoy retires or heads to the Eagles, where he has said he plans/hopes to finish his career?

That’s a story for after Sunday’s Super Bowl.

Today, Joe is focused on 35-year-old Peterson telling CBS Sports Radio this week that he plans on being the Tom Brady of running backs when it comes to longevity, and Peterson noted that he was texting with Brady on Tuesday.

Apparently, Brady sent Peterson a jersey and the two were talking about the Super Bowl. Brady, per Peterson, admitted it’s going to be a tough road to victory and Peterson told Brady he thinks the Bucs defense will be the key.

Peterson said his heart has him leaning toward a Bucs victory.

The Vikings legend recounted how he used to throw balls to a little kid named Antoine Winfield, Jr., when Peterson was Minnesota teammates with Winfield, Sr.

This season, Peterson said he had a very special moment in his second carry against the Bucs while playing Detroit. Peterson ran four yards and was drilled and tackled. He looked up and saw it was Winfield, Jr.

“It was something that I’ll remember forever,” Peterson said.

  3. lowercaseg Says:

Should’ve drafted AP over GA back in the day ….

  4. Jimmy Says:

Peterson can’t retire. He’s broke. He needs the money.

  5. I CARE NOW Says:

Peterson would be awesome to see as a third option behind Ro and Key. I have wanted him here for years and would love for him to retire a Buc after Back to Back Super Bowls.

  6. Beeej Says:

If like either Adrian or Frank Gore–you just WANT guys like them on your team

  7. Mike C Says:

He is going to play as long as he can, because that man owes a TON of money.

  8. Jimmy Says:

    >>> If like either Adrian or Frank Gore–you just WANT guys like them on your team <<<

    Grandpa Gore, maybe.

Peterson? Yeah, every team needs Peterson to help teach teammates the fine art of beating children and not paying your bills.

  9. SOEbuc Says:

The BSPN national analyst are rooting for Mohomes for TV ratings. All the great sports players like Lebron and AP are rooting for Brady cus they know he’s the GOAT. So cool for the Bucs to finally be in big time spot light.

  10. Bojim Says:

    Maybe not?

  11. adam from ny Says:

we are the new america’s team…

as long as tom terrific is in the building

  12. gp Says:

@ Peterson ***“It was something that I’ll remember forever,” Peterson said.***

I would cal that a ‘passing of the torch” type statement.

  13. I CARE NOW Says:

@Jimmy, whipping your kids with a switch for acting up is NOT beating them. His story was used to help user in the sissy everyone gets a trophy CULTure.

AP is a really good dude and his life story is one that everyone should look at and learn from.

Stop spreading the Mis-information that you have been fed. Do you own research or STFU

  14. BA4President Says:

Wow, that last part is a feel good moment if I’ve ever read one

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I’m sorry, Joe….but I simply can’t think about any FAs until we have signed:

Godwin, LVD, Shaq, Suh, Succop, Gronk…..

After those guys are signed….then we can speculate….

  16. Kentucky Buc Says:

I saw a piece on Edelman coming to Tampa if Godwin leaves on a big contract. I’ve heard about a dozen others. Going to keep putting this out there. James White is a free agent. Still relatively young and should be come at a reasonable price. The best receiving back in the NFL . Relatively under the radar. Game changer.

  17. 6throundpick Says:

Bottom line: lots great players out there want to be part of the TB runs for the prize. Many will come at a discount for the opportunity. This is what New England enjoyed for years. Just sayin…

  18. Defense Rules Says:

TBBF … Excellent list of must-have FA signings. Personally would also like us to re-sign Fournette, Nunez-Roches & Minter but those aren’t as essential as the list you noted.

  19. BillyBucFan Says:

Hate to say it but if the Bucs do win, this team will look different next year. Possibly WAY different.

New England never had the same team twice.
Brady has always had to learn new receivers etc.
    Champions cost too much money.

Just continue to draft well and coach them up and it won’t really matter.
Now if they lose, I can see MOST of the team coming back at a discount to run it back. Brady already said they will be better next year.

Unless you wanna join KC, it is the most logical destination to win it all and players will see that.

  20. Hodad Says:

    Nice story about Winfield.

  21. BucEmUp Says:

Someone will pay overpay fournette, Peterson will come here for a major discount.

  22. Karma Says:

Thank God we didn’t give up a bunch of draft picks like the Rams to win now.

We may look different next year with new talent coming in to replace some free agents and it will be all good!

  23. Mike C Says:

That dude needs $$$$, he is in debt big time, THAT is the real reason he wants to play forever.

  24. Brad Says:

Longevity? Does he know Frank Gore is still playing?
Back on subject Joe. You gonna show us mock drafts next? 😉

  25. MadMax Says:

Bring him in…we’re going on a 2nd SB run…need JJ Watt too….this way we can focus on drafting QB Mac Jones, DT Darius Stills, and another CB in the draft.

  26. Seemore Bucs Says:

MadMax, I love the idea of drafting Mac Jones as the heir to TB 12. The Bucs just have to stay away from the fool’s gold that is Kyle Trask. Let him go be someone else’s mistake and be out of the league in 5 years or a third stringer somewhere.

  27. Capt.Tim Says:

I wouldn’t let Fournette walk out of the Building, without a fight.
Petersen and Gore are a step down, and thats not the direction to go.

    TampabayBucFan.
Agreed, but after review- I think we’ll lose Godwin.
Don’t wanna screw up the lines or the Pass Rush.

Im pretty Sure Tom Brady plans on being in the SuperBowl again next year!
And I wouldnt bet against him!!

  28. Listnfrmafar Says:

No on Peterson, yes on White and Edleman if Godwin leaves. Edleman will be cost effective and all cap space for others to stay. Edleman is the ultimate baller. He would be a mad man if he could be with Tommy Boy again.

  29. james west Says:

    i do concure capt tim

  30. David Says:

As a vet backup to give RoJo (& Vaughn) a little relief… sounds to me.

  31. pick6 Says:

happy to have him as a fan, but wouldn’t want him as a RB at this stage. i know we are busy collecting Madden cover athletes these days, but Peterson is too worn down and even more one dimensional than RoJo

  32. Bird Says:

    Jerry

Sure joe can. I mean he still has 15 lame monikers for the greatest qb of all time. And 3 or 4 amazing monikers for a qb that was average as hell. Not even 50/50 qb

    😂

  33. TOM Says:

I think if we lose Lenny I would prefer White over Peterson. Also I am not really sold on Vaughn at this point in time. Also losing Godwin would hurt but we still have Miller & Johnson & who knows maybe AB. And Edelman would look good in Bucs uni.
