Gronk Tips Hand On Bucs’ Future?

Returning to Bucs?

Did Gronk just let the cat out of the bag?

Bucs foot-rubbing, car-littering tight end Rob Gronkowski has already said if he returns to the NFL in 2021, it would likely be only to play for the Bucs to reunite with his old pal park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, trophy-throwing Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Well, in a video released Wednesday night, Gronk sure seemed like he’s returning. And while he didn’t say he was playing for the Bucs, he ended his short preamble to the video saying, “Go Bucs!”

Gronk and his family have a YouTube series called “The Gronks.” It’s sort of like a crazier version of “The Osbournes.” It documents parties and wild scenes the Gronkowski brothers roll through.

The video shows behind-the-scenes moments of the Bucs’ boat parade after winning the Super Bowl. It opened with a very short monologue by Gronk. It ended with this:

“But now it’s time to put Super Bowl LV and the celebration behind us,” Gronk said. “Because I have to get back to the grind to get after Super Bowl LVI, baby. Thanks again everyone and Go Bucs!”

It sure smells like he announced his return, but with Gronk, who knows? “Return to the grind” could mean all sorts of things. Perhaps he’s returning to the broadcast booth, this time working for NBC, which will broadcast Super Bowl LVI? Could be all sorts of things.

Or perhaps the Gronkowski clan has something in the works for Super Bowl LVI?

At the very least, this is a helluva tease by Gronk.

He’s com in my back to the Bucs, I have no doubt. He can still play and he means a lot in the locker room. Guys love him. So the Bucs have good reason to bring him back. He’s not going anywhere else unless the Bucs low-ball him.

  2. The Red Mirage Says:

Gronk and Brady are a package deal.

    heard it here 1st…..

  4. SufferingSince76 Says:

The guy still has it and the Bucs still need it.

  5. Bird Says:

His dad and brothers are all yahoos. Thats funny. How many cases of beer do dad and his brothers put down when they want to have some fun. Over/under at 5 cases

Anyway he came out of retirement to play with his boy in a place where they can be themselves.

    He aint going anywhere
He is a better blocker then some oline. He can go one on one with montez sweat and chase . He is worth his 8 or 9 or whatever he signs for. And he didnt have his legs until about week 8. Look for his looks and catches to go way up.

    That boat parade was epic.
Hopefully the next one will be even bigger as we start to get back to normalization

How in the world could that be interpreted any other way than he is returning….

Can’t let the Gronk leave us. He catches everything thrown to him. I know OJ Howard is younger n was ac1st round pick but truth be told I’d take Gronk over OJ any day. Gronk has played in more games had more receptions n receiving yards n TDs in one season than OJ has in the four different seasons he’s been with the Bucs. In my opinion, Gronk is durable, reliable, has courage to make the tough catches n take the hits, doesn’t drop passes, n is on point during crunch time, contrary to OJ drop passes, fumbles, is passive, fragile, n is awful at blocking. What has he done for us lately? Don’t wanna hear that it looks like he was going to have a great 2020 season. Dependability is availability. Trade OJ

  8. Beeej Says:

    STILL–NO word about OJ

  9. Leighroy Says:

Sure he’s coming back, but at what price? 7 mil annually keeps him in the top 12 TEs and would be a discount on what he earned last year.

Problem is, you’re paying almost the same for Brate and 6 mil for OJ. 20 mil for just the TE position is a lot of money for a non-premium position!

  10. Jason Says:

    Gronk is coming back.
In other news, water is wet and grass is green.

If Godwin and/or AB leaves, Brate is a big piece of the passing game priority. Him and Brady have made a connection and I really hope to see it continue. Licht won’t give Brate up for peanuts so I think our GM of the year could pull off a good deal with either contract restructure or good deal in a trade.

  12. Joe Q Says:

I want Gronkowski back!!! Brady knows how to find him for important catches, but more important is his superior blocking skills. Helping, big-time, to keep Brady up-right in the pocket is soooo important.

  13. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I agree that Gronk and Brady are a package deal.
Gronk only came back last year, to play with Brady.

  14. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

I can’t see Gronk playing on a team without his best friend Brady. Hoping Brady restructures his contract for 3 years and Gronk follows suit with his own 3 year stint.

  15. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Gronk is here as long as Brady is, or until Bucs stop paying him. The proof is in the pudding, screen pass in GB game and SB standout. OJ maybe a 1st rounder but he’s no Gronk. If he wants back, a motivated Gronk is unstoppable. Bucs need to allow him to giggle some more while face planting the competition.

  16. Don Jordan Says:

Ya know, Boston could have given Brady and the Gronk a boat parade ‘cept the Charles River is frozen over by Superbowl time. If we Pats had to lose both these great players, so glad they went to Tampa Bay. I’ve wintered and even taught a few years in Miami, but next year as this Damn pandemic is finally behind us, I’m Tampa bound. This Beantown boy proudly says GO BUCS!!!!

  17. PSL Bob Says:

That was an awesome video. No doubt he’s saying he’ll be back with the Bucs. Given the boat parade and his penchant for partying, there’s no other interpretation!

  18. BA4President Says:

I thought this was already known. He basically said a week or two ago something like “I don’t know why I wouldn’t be back”. That’s enough for me.

  19. 6throundpick Says:

Gronk will be better this season. How many were wondering if he was broken, during the first six or so games? (I read the posts.) That’s what happens when you take a year off. Gronk does a lot: improves the running game (best blocker); makes the big plays; can draw double/triple teams, making others more valuable. And he’ll be great from the start this season.

  20. Capt.Tim Says:

    All the talk about Kelcie.
Gronk proved he was the GOAT at TE.
Never been a better blocker/receiver combo in NFL history!
And he’s a Buc, and a Super Bowl champion! Again!
The guy was crushing people in the playoffs.
With Gronk and Brate- Brady is loving his TEs
