Aaron Jones Bothered By Season-Ending Hit From Jordan Whitehead

February 4th, 2021

Damage revealed

How hard was Jordan Whitehead’s bone-crushing, fumble-forcing hit on Packers star running back Aaron Jones in the NFC Championship game?

Joe will share the words of Jones himself.

“I’m feeling all right, better. I ended up cracking my cartilage that condensed my sternum and my ribs,” Jones told SiriusXM NFL Radio today. “But I’m feeling a lot better. I just gotta rest and let it heal up and get back to work.”

Jones lamented that his last carry as a Green Bay packer might be a turnover.

“Even to just get out there and take one carry for negative yardage is better then ending your career with a team with a fumble,” Jones continued. “But I couldn’t even get back out there, you know, so that bothered me.”

Of course, the bad news is Whitehead dislocated his shoulder soon after and is questionable for the Super Bowl.

Regardless, it was a fair trade if Whitehead can’t go. That hit (here’s the link) was a game-changer in the Bucs’ historic win at Lambeau Field.

Whitehead injured his shoulder on the next series, not on that play.

  2. Shane8754 Says:

Hawaiian Buc, correct….I think it was AJ Dillon that he upended when he hurt it

  3. Reddington Neck Shores Says:

That wasn’t the hit he got hurt on but he comes with some serious force to be sure! Hope he is a go. Go Bucs!

Remember if anyone is offering to sell you a paper ticket, it is fake.

    HawaiianBuc is correct

Thank you. All tickets are electronic now? I was wondering if you can head to the stadium and get tickets like we used to.

  10. SB Says:

Bird is correct. It was the hit on Jamaal Williams that whitehead got hurt on.

  11. Mitch Says:

I have seen three or four national shows say he was injured on this play. I would expect that from them. Didn’t really expect it from Joe (second time he’s done it too).

The play he was hurt on was memorable. He flipped Jamal Williams and took a quad to the shoulder. Aikman and Buck commented on how Jordan could run through a wall… a few seconds later it showed Jordan on the bench in pain and one of them commented that it looks like the wall won that time.

How are people getting this so wrong?

  12. Robert Says:

agreed mitch……they jinxed him. when i saw him hit him in the quad square on, I was like dang…….that quad has to win that one. He laid into that guy though and flipped him like something on a movie.

    hope he heals quick!

  13. Nutterbuccer Says:

Dislocated shoulder….I’m hoping he can play through that. Take a cortisone shot and be ready to rock. LFG!!!!!!

  14. Joe Says:

    ARE YOU FLIPPIN’KIDDING ME JOE?!

Not the next series, the play after v Dillon. Not sure why its so hard to find a replay of the hit of the year on that play. Anyone got a link?

    I agree to a point.

I stand correct, next Packers series, very first play after the comparatively mild hit on Jones.

@Thisisouryear…sure, would be great to go, and be a bargain for $1,500. If I were young and invincible, i’d find a way to be out partying like no tomorrow until Sunday, and then watch it at home–as upper corners are going now market wise for $7K each. You just might find a last minute bargain as prices drop, IF they don’t sell them all on the resell market. That said, other momentos are official coins toss coins on Fanatics dot com, and official programs for $18.But as you are warned and probably know, do not go anywhere near paper tickets or those selling them near the stadium. Again, best bet is some folks can’t go last minute…dump their tix for cheaper, and grab an Uber and enjoy the game. I wish you luck. I’d have paid the $18K each to sit in my normal seats had there not been the COVID. Bummer.

  22. BradyBucs Says:

    Thisouryear,

It doubtful you’ll be able to get tickets for $1500.

I’ve been monitoring prices closely and minimum upper deck prices just to get in were about $7500 a week ago but as of now are down to about $4300 on StubHub. They’ll drop into the $3Ks before the game most likely but I just don’t see how they’ll get down to $1500. Outside chance at $2500 as the bottom price at last minute most likely.

  23. james west Says:

Always liked the dude and his play style, he lays the wood, brings the hammer, and nails em, just like my boy, friendly fire Mr John Lynch, glad he’s a buccaneer, hope he plays sunday

  24. Waco Says:

They may go down to $2500, but the “fees and taxes” per ticket is around $1500. So that makes them $4K each. I had two $6K tickets in the cart, total at checkout was just under $15K ridiculous, I didn’t buy them.

    Go Bucs!

  25. SufferingSince76 Says:

These ticket prices blow me away. I went to the Super Bowl in New Orleans between the Cowboys and the Broncos (‘78?) and my ticket cost around $50!! I could almost touch the ceiling of the Superdome, but today’s prices are outrageous.

  26. Ericb Says:

Defense keep on hitting thrm HARD!!!!! MAKE THEM NOT WANT THE BALL IT IS WORKING!!!! We have been coming out really aggressive against NO and GB and we need to continue to do it MAKE THEM PAY its gonna take hard nose defense to stop this speed on offense that KC has…that is how you stop speed HIT THEM!!! I SAY HAVE 2 game plans on offense for 1st half then switch it to second half bc KC is good at adjusting..they have very good OC And DC…keep the run game going and keep patty off the field LFGO TAMPA BAY ALL THE WAY
