The Return Of Jack Cichy

January 1st, 2021

Back with Bucs.

Former Bucs linebacker Jack Cichy was in the right place at the right time.

The Bucs today, suddenly, found themselves down two linebackers for who knows how long. So a former Bucs backup who just happened to be on the Belicheats practice squad was available, and Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht jumped at the chance.

Cichy, who plays mostly inside linebacker, will take place of Devin White who found himself on the COVID list after apparently testing positive for the virus. White is out for Sunday and he’s iffy for the Bucs’ playoff game, provided he passes all necessary COVID protocols.

Cichy already knows the Bucs defense and, per Mike Reiss of BSPN, will be on the Bucs’ active roster.

Cichy is known for getting hurt as much as he is known for any big play. The Bucs’ sixth-round pick in 2018, Cichy dropped that far because he missed his senior season at Wisconsin with a knee injury.

Joe found seven items related to Bucs rosters moves involving Cichy. Every one dealt with an injury issue.

If he was signed off a team’s PS, does that mean he does not have to go through the Covid protocol before practicing?

Or will he sit this game out and be available for the playoffs?
