The Best?

January 1st, 2021

Strong words from talking head.

Sometimes, only sometimes, these network hollering shows make you think.

And Joe doesn’t mean thinking about puking.

On the FS1 hollering show “First Thing’s First,” the subject was best quarterback-receiver duo. The usual suspects were debated. Mahomes-Cheetah, Rodgers-Adams, Allen-Diggs, you know the drill.

Joe initially wondered why park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t there.

You know, Brady-Evans, Brady-Godwin, Brady-Brown, Brady-Brate… but then it hit Joe: The Bucs have so many weapons, Brady doesn’t need to target one guy. He’s got several.

TV executive Kevin Wildes, who Joe never heard of before typing this here story, is now part of the hollerers on this “First Thing’s First.” He said the obvious answer is Brady-Gronk. Wildes noted that Brady and Rob Gronkowski have the most touchdowns of any duo as a passer-receiver. So until that number is topped, Brady-Gronk is the NFL’s top quarterback-receiver duo.

Of course, this brought audible moans of disgust from noted Brady hater and NBA apologist, Nick Wright.

You can see the segment below in the FS1 video.

Joe thinks Wildes is onto something here.

They say “when you have 2 QBs you don’t have any”……..but…….when you have 4 good receivers….you have 4 good receivers……in our case we have at least 8.

Evans, Godwin, AB, Gronk, Brate, Miller, OJ & Johnson,,,,,an abundance of riches.

  2. Casual Observer Says:

TB fan. Totally agree. I think the WR trio is the best in the history of the NFL – as a group. And, as you mention, the TEs aren’t too shabby either. Our RBs are below average on pass catching – but you can’t have everything – or we would never lose a game.

Easily the best post of 2021.

  6. Kentucky Buc Says:

Haha. Man you got it wright Gofortheface30. Nick Wright is an ass. These guys that make a living bashing better men such as Wright, Sharpe, Kellerman are vermin. I can’t even watch their shows. We are watching a guy making history every time he steps on the field. Doing things that have never been done at his age. It’s the old don’t know what you got until it’s gone thing.

  7. ModHairKen Says:

QB-WR or QB-TE — the issue isn’t TDs or number of receptions. It’s Championships.

Rodgers is the most overrated player since Marino. So is Brees. Every year, it’s their “year.”. And every year they lose, but it’s “someone else’s” fault.

Champions find a way to get the job done.

    My guy,

2021 isn’t even 12 hours old. Not sure that means much.

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Making the playoffs is not enough for me. I want a ring! Or at least home field advantage in the Superbowl!

  10. Buc1987 Says:

Making the playoffs is MORE than good enough for me.

Maybe going through Green Bay just got a lil’ bit easier?

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

Unlike Mahomes (see his follow up tweet) Brady could care less about stats. All these great so called QB’S for whatever the reason fail to consistently get back to the SB. I doubt even Mahomes gets back this year. Brady’s success comes from spreading it out and it is apparent he has an abundance of marmalade on this team.

Lol! “The best in NFL history!” ……You need a rectal-cranial-inversion.

  14. Swampbuc Says:

Nick Wright is so smug. Did Brady beat the sh!t out of him in 6th grade or something? The other day I was wishing James Harrison would have been in the same room, I believe James would’ve snapped his pencil neck in half like a twig.

  15. New Bucs Fan Says:

Nick Wright is still trying to get Brady’s missile out of his backside from the AFC championship 2 yrs ago! Wright, Kellerman and Sharpe sound like childish morons when they knock TB12 every day on their shows!!

  16. alton green Says:

come on all you guys. Sharpe and Kellerman are getting what they want. People talking about them. That’s called marketing. cheap as it is. as far as Sharpe goes i think he is the #1. He has to be the ugliest ^$%^$ i’ve ever seen.

  17. Buczilla Says:

    @Gofortheface30

ROFL I have watched about 5 minutes of that Wright dude and it was way more than enough to despise him.

  18. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

    Ew, Nick Wright. No thanks.
