“I’m Optimistic”

January 27th, 2021

Status of injuries.

So what is going on with furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing Bucs wide receiver Antonio Brown and star rookie safety Antoine Winfield?

Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht shed a little light on their statuses for the Super Bowl.

Licht appeared on Peter King’s NBC Sports podcast and King asked him if Brown and Winfield will play against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.

“I do know these guys desperately want to play,” Licht said without showing his hand. “Their mindset is right. I am optimistic at this point. We will see.”

Now to Joe, that seems to be in conflict, at least a little bit, from earlier chatter that Brown would be OK for the Super Bowl and maybe Winfield, too.

Brown, of course, had a knee injury against the Saints earlier in the playoffs and Winfield blew out his ankle in practice last week.

The way Joe sees it, these two have no reason to be on their feet until next Sunday, outside of running in a pool or sitting in a whirlpool.

I really hope Winfield can play. I’m not as worried about Brown.

Diversion, they’re playing. They need to play Brown so he doesn’t have another moment.

Both have had outstanding seasons. Get both healthy for the big game. Need every advantage.

Was he asked about the science behind Cynthia Frelund ranking the Bucs secondary last in the NFL coming into the season or that her science said the Bucs would not make it to the playoffs, or beat the Saints or Packers?

Im confident those two will play.
Im waiting for info on Whitehead. Hes an important part of our run stopping defense.
From personal experience- it looked like a “stinger”, the way he was flexing his hand.
    Painful, but usually recover Quickly.
But that is a best case scenario. Could be shoulder or collarbone.
    Keep your fingers crossed

We need our safeties…..both of them for this game……that, plus Vea will make our defense totally healthy from start to finish.

AB would be icing on the cake….but we’ve proved we can score without him.

I would love to see what models frelund actually uses. She seems to be wrong much more often than right…

It’s the Super Bowl!! If they can get to the stadium they’ll play!! GO BUCS!!

So desperately need both Winfield and Whitehead back for the SB – I seriously like Edwards and Adams as back-ups, but this is the pinnacle, need all the weapons available – Brown is the same – love Scottie, but AB is just a cut above
