“Don’t Shoot Your Load Too Fast Because We’re Not Playing Until 8:15 P.M.”

January 7th, 2021

Cameron Brate

A few interesting nuggets from a veteran Buccaneer were delivered today on a national platform.

Harvard man and seventh-year Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate joined Movin’ The Chains on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Tom Brady’s former teammate and host Jim Miller, and co-host Pat Kirwan, the ex-Jets executive and linebackers coach.

The message now at One Buc Palace, per Brate, is “don’t make the game bigger than it is.” Brate noted that might be easier than expected in Saturday’s playoff game because the biggest game of many players’ lives will be played before zero fans. No wild crowd to distract and get players overly fired up.

Still, Brate said players will need to careful not to get too amped up. “Don’t shoot your load too fast because we’re not playing until 8:15 p.m,” he said.

With COVID protocols, players largely are stuck in their hotel rooms all day until the team bus takes off for the stadium. Brate said he’s grateful there’s a full slate of playoff games on TV to pass the time.

As for Tom Brady, Brate took fans inside the locker room and said Brady gets a lot of needling from teammates, often jokes about his lack of athleticism.

“We rib him probably harder than anybody else,” Brate said. “He can definitely take a joke.” And Brate added that Brady dishes it out extremely well.

Brate also told America that rookie right tackle Tristan Wirfs is so impressive not just for his play, but for how cool and calm he is as a rookie, and he has been that way from Day 1.

As for the humming Bucs offense, the veteran tight end said it has been so diverse over the past few games and been in such a good rhythm, it will be hard to stop. Brate believes it took coaches and Brady time to figure out all the pieces and where the strengths lie, and now it’s peaking at the right time.

“it took coaches and Brady time to figure out all the pieces and where the strengths lie, and now it’s peaking at the right time.”

    Music to my ears.

  6. Cannon Says:

but if you shoot your load early enough, you can recover and shoot it again

    *taps forehead*

  7. 68%fraud Says:

I’d shoot my load as soon as I woke up if I was him. Regenerate and keep himself on..edge, all day and really unload all over the field.

  8. Pistol Pete Says:

Dude…serious flashbacks to my ex-wife and a post-corporate Christmas party with that headline…..

Jeez Joe, I thought this was a quote from my wife!

  11. uncommon Says:

Hope Brate gets a TD in a playoff game. He’s been here through a lot of losing as well and has been one of the best Bucs over the past half decade or so.

  12. Dewey Selmon Says:

Always rub one out before visiting a prostitute. Get your moneys worth!

  13. adam from ny Says:

  14. Wesley Says:

Does Joe and Brate know what “shoot your load means”? That phrase is derived from one thing only.

  15. I CARE NOW Says:

Do they realize what is going on in DC right now? I hope they shoot they’re load early and often.

Preferably right in the eyes of those flabits.

Totally ruined my excitement for this game. Not sure I care now.

  16. ClodHopper Says:

Sitting in a hotel room all day watching tv. You ever sat and watched tv all day then tried to do actual work in the afternoon? It’s like trying to move a train!!

Can’t think of a better way to kill their motivation that don’t involve drugs or shooting your load.

  17. BucEmUp Says:

Brate believes it took coaches and Brady time to figure out all the pieces and where the strengths lie, and now it’s peaking at the right time.

Gee, you dont say….Lets hope they dont forget being a night game

  18. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I CARE NOW…..it’s very apparent from your political statement, which made it through moderation, that you are a bit dull.
Let me help you out just a little bit though. “They’re” is a contraction meaning they are. So, when you write, “I hope they shoot they’re load early and often,” you are really writing “I hope they shoot they are load early and often.” I’m quite sure you brighter than that and meant to write, “I hope they shoot their load early and often.” Please also bear in mind that the word “their” is often spelled “there” and has a completely different meaning. I’m here to help. In the interim, bone up on the 25th Amendment to that “there” Constitution.

  19. Colonel Angus Says:

Need to stay hydrated, can’t be shooting blanks come game time.

  20. Delawest Says:

    Go Bucs!!

  21. SB : Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

I am as offended by ” Shoot your load” as I am by “Redskins” lol.

  22. Jason Says:

Wait. Tantric football is a thing? Who knew?

  23. Goldenbuc Says:

WFT are a poor man’s Saints team, this game could be a practice run for when we see them later on in the tournament.

Offense has an efficient qb, an Ohio state wide reciever, shifty hb, and a security blanket te

Defense has a ferocious D line, with a very good defensive backfield.

    Chase young or Cam Jordan

We cannot allow this team to get into the backfield.

    Go Bucs!

  24. Mclovin Says:

    Lol @rob in LOL

  25. Bucked up Says:

    Redskins!

  26. REDZONE BA Says:

WFT will be a practice run. Expecting Seahawks as next opponent. Russ Wilson in Seattle – That is when we need ME13….not vs WFT. Save him, please…..

  27. buc15 Says:

    Wait…nevermind too late

  28. 941bucsfan Says:

Shootin your load before you show up, always gives you a better performance in the long run. I agree

  29. Diggler Says:

All I know is with all these receivers with their soft hands, Brady will be JACKING his balls deep into them.

  30. adam from ny Says:

word is the washington football team is going to be called…

    the “washington woodchucks” next season…

how much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a woodchuck could stroke wood ???

  31. Billy-43 Says:

    @Redzone
You do realize there is only 1 way we play Seattle next and that is if ALL 3 Wild Card teams win.

    Ain’t happening.
My guess is LA beats Seattle and we play NO.
    Otherwise its Green Bay.

I actually want to play NO because not only is it difficult to beat a team 3 times in a single year, we have to be playing our best to win it all anyway.

Plus, I would rather play in a dome than in a blizzard.

  32. BillyBucFan Says:

Well that sounded stupid my bad.
Seattle would have to win and the Bears beat the Saints, which is the part I don’t see happening.

Would love it though if we somehow played the NFC Championship at home too. Lol.

We could play the Rams again at home I think has the best chance for that to happen.

  33. JimBobBucsFan Says:

Brady’s “lack of athleticism”. 😂 Like for example his throwing arm. Right!

  34. Buc You Says:

You can’t tell me Brady doesn’t get in a clarity wank right before each game. How else do explain such crisp and intelligent decision making?

  35. TampaTown Says:

Brady already said he has a no hanky panky rule on game days.

  36. View from 132 Says:

I hate it when that happens.

  37. windbaggery Says:

Be careful about shooting your load too fast.
