Groin Problem For Jamel Dean

December 9th, 2020

Bucs cornerback Jamel Dean officially is past the concussion that got him yanked from the Bucs-Rams game 2 1/2 weeks ago and kept him out of the Chiefs game, but now he has a new groin issue that caused him to miss today’s practice.

Bucco Bruce Arians said this afternoon that Dean has a “very, very sore groin” and “hopefully we’ll get him healed up.”

Joe’s always extra sensitive about Dean getting hurt. He had a long injury history in college and had various minor issues last year during his rookie campaign with the Bucs, when he missed three games.

Joe can’t say Dean would be a big loss if he can’t play Sunday, as Dean’s play had fallen off in recent weeks. Still, Joe would love to see a healthy Dean out there.

He knocked Sean Murphy-Bunting out of the starting outside cornerback job for a reason, and Dean’s much more a playmaker than Murphy-Bunting or replacement veteran Ross Cockrell.

Teriff. We have to use some of that Donovan Smith money for a prime CB.

I won’t miss JDean. I’ll take my chances with Ross Cockrell and believe had we kept undrafted rookie Parnell Motley, he would be starting over SMB and JDean. Dean is too fragile, passive, and timid. His style of play is similar to former Buc’s corner Myron Lewis and Sabby Piscitalli. JDean is often confused and out of position against mediocre receivers.

meh, I like it when guys appear hurt and they come in and ball out.

    no pun intended

It has appeared for weeks now that Dean was injured. his ability to change directions has been very poor. He also has been avoiding contact. Watch him on film you will see. He will avoid contact at all costs. he even will take bad angles to avoid having to tackle.

He’s not good enough to play injured. It’s a shame mike edwards is not good enough to play slot and move smb to the outside. Defense is getting roasted no excuses, kinda sad the dolphins have a better record I would not have expected that.

    Tbbf- nice one.

Backfield peeking, rodgers pick sixing, occasional burnt toast emulating, very very sore crotch having, Jamel Dean.

Pewter…Winfield can play nickel, SMB outside.
