New Slow Start Trend Emerges

November 9th, 2020

NBC Sports screen shot of the Bucs’ first-half woes

Before the Bucs faced the Giants last Monday, they were averaging a whopping 18-plus points in the first halves of games.

Think about that total for a minute.

The Bucs were jumping all over teams, scoring more than 20 points in the first half in four of seven games.

And then the bottom dropped out. The Bucs put 6 points on the Giants in the first half and look at the graphic above of their seven sad first-half drives last night. That’s represents bad playcalling, bad leadership, bad execution, bad luck and bad news all rolled into one.

How does that happen with Tom Brady at the command and a world of talent and experienced coaches.

When the Bucs last faced the Panthers, their next opponent, they dropped 21 first-half points on them. Joe certainly expects the Bucs to have their way on Sunday with Carolina’s 2oth-ranked pass defense, which couldn’t slow down Matt Ryan or Patrick Mahomes in their last two games.

    Slow start?

    More like no start.

I have not been this embarrassed since the first Falcons game of 2014.

    no start indeed….

with so much on the line, im still lost for words how this team can come out so flat….

glazers shouldve pulled a jerry jones or arthur blank and came down on the field to bust some b@!!$….

    GO BUCS!!!!

IMO, these mentally weak brainiacs spend too much time reading their media accolades.

Maybe the plays that Brady s requesting to run have been figured out. 20 years of tape. Maybe BL has tendencies (first down runs and end zone fades) that teams have figured out. The Bucs were outcoached last night.

    dewey

    and bowles?…

you can add him to that list…

    GO BUCS!!!

  6. Bucamania Says:

It’s either dump off or a low percentage throw lately. smh

Oh BL has tendencies alright. It’s called being basic and repetitive, and lacking any semblance of creativity or misdirection whatsoever. You can figure out every single play call from BL by just looking at the formation and what down it is. Works. Every. Time.

But I’m almost more disgusted by Bowles. This defense has proved it literally cannot generate pressure from a 4 man rush. So what does he do? Rushes 4 the entire game while playing soft zone that Brees has repeatedly lit up over and over.

I mean WTF? This game was colossal failure from coaching down to every single player. Absolutely pathetic.

The only guy who came to play was Antonio Brown. Go figure.

It looked like this team had finally turned the corner and then……oh yeah, I forgot…..we are the Buccaneers!

  9. BucEmUp Says:

The entire first half every possession it was a bomb play 50nyards down field. No slants no crossing routes. So vanilla, so boring. Our entire team looked dead.

Pathetic… With this roster a performance like that on SNF even Arians should be fired for allowing his crappy little goon to continue calling this offense.

Bowles I don’t know what he was thinking. He should have known better and think it will get corrected…but Leftwich should be fired and Arians should be right behind him if he isn’t willing to do it. What a sh!t show this team is. Hardly beat the giants and got bulldozed on national television….like taking candy from a baby. So pathetic. Hopefully I can find something constructive to do with my time next Sunday, because the panthers are a very well coached football team and they will beat us.

“As Kobe Faker has stated continuously for the last 2 years

Byron Leftwich doesnt deserve nor able to call plays in a Pro nor college football game

    He is incompetent and clueless

Unqualified Leftwich hire as OC by BA was purely nepotism

Byon Leftwich is the Ivanka of the NFL”
