Buccaneers 38, Chargers 31

October 4th, 2020

Animal!

An unwritten law of football says when you face the Chargers and a rookie QB in your own crib, when they’re down half their starting offense and a quarter of their defense, you absolutely must beat them.

Thankfully, Tom Brady didn’t get caught by Tampa code enforcement again, as it almost looked like the Bucs would violate that NFL statute.

Instead, the Bucs won their second consecutive home game

Man, the Bucs were ugly in the first half. It looked like the defense was running through mud as Brady looked like Jameis Winston on a pick-6 and the passing game sputtered while the special teams coverage was shoddy and Ryan Succop missed a field goal.

But a sloppy Chargers team showed its true colors late in the first half and Brady pounced like a hungry cat on a mouse. A 24-7 deficit became a 28-24 lead within 12 minutes of play and the Bucs outclassed Los Angeles the rest of the way.

What a freakin’ gamer Mike Evans is, getting it done big while visibly injured. #HallofFamer. Scotty Miller came up huge, and Brady was so calm and cool — and precise — following his Pick-6.

Much love for Ronald Jones. He can’t catch, but his punishing running today — 20 carries for 111 yards — was huge. And way to go Ke’Shawn Vaughn with a tough touchdown catch in his debut.

Joe will tip a cap to Jaydon Mickens, as well, for a strong late punt return and good work overall.

And way to go Carlton Davis making up for a rough day with a game-clinching interception.

Ugly game, but the team persevered via leadership and experience of the QB.

    GO BUCS

  6. unbelievable Says:

    ROJO played great overall.

Brady has a great 2nd half after very shaky start.

    Evans is a fkn beast.

Defense better wake up next week.

Got the win, which is all that matters at the end of the day. 3-1 baby!

  7. Zwak Says:

    What a game! WOW

  8. ElioT Says:

    It’s been a while.

  9. Tbbucs3 Says:

3-1 with an opportunity to be 4-1 on Thurs. Awesome position to be in.

But Bucs need to get Godwin back ASAP cause Tyler Johnson is Kenny Bell 2.0

  10. Will Says:

Gotta win the ugly games. Great 2nd half overall. EVANS IS A BEAST!

  11. unbelievable gas bag Says Says:

    Pathetic

  16. tampabaybucfan Says:

    Rojo…….and, yes….Mike Evans is GODZILLA!!!!

  17. Cannon Says:

This was a great win for our team. In years past, we would have crumbled. Instead, the team never flinched. You can just sense how this team believes in itself.

  18. Pewter Power Says:

It was comical seeing the posts from all the cry babies during the game that was as pathetic as the first half defense. There is going to be a shortage on anxiety medication before season ends. So many quitters joined our fan base or have you always been there? Who are all these people expecting blowouts every week. Madden ain’t real life

  19. 40TDs Says:

    W baby!!!!!!

    Check the sheet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Cannon Says:

    3-1 feels pretty damn good.

  21. Bangkok Buc Says:

    Any report on OJ?
    Hope it isn’t too serious.

  22. Ndog Says:

How many throw em up balls did our QB get bailed out on today?

Not to mention the refs gifting us the game.

    OJ clearly fumbled the ball.
Shaq was clearly offsides then if your not going to call it after you clearly saw it then why did the clock stop allowing the Chargers to fumble the ball this gives us TD, which BTW is the amount we won by.

Oh yeah nice pick 6, I thought we couldn’t win with those, or is that only for the players you like.

  23. TheShaz Says:

The Chargers prepared for the Bucs blitzing and burned the team.

That last INT they switched to zone, got a rush and forced a early throw = INT

I saw on Twitter: If the Bucs were a University it would be known as “PICK-6 U”

  24. Karu Says:

    @Tbbucs3 😂😂😂😂 i hope not!!!

  25. unbelievable Says:

As for our receivers, the jury is still out on Tyler Johnson imo. Hasn’t had too many opportunities yet (but also had done anything with the few he has had).

Justin Watson is serviceable, but nothing special.

Scotty Miller is definitely developing into a real threat.

Evans is a goddamn beast as I said, but I question how much longer he can continue being the focal point while injured. We really need Godwin back for better balance.

  26. Pruritus Ani Says:

Winning on a consistent basis is a great feeling.

  27. ©MadMax Says:

    FK you haters!!!!

  28. Bangkok Buc Says:

    Ndog
Go to bed man. Its celebration time you giant wet blanket

  29. unbelievable Says:

    “Refs gifting us the game”

No ndog, sorry. It was the complete opposite of that. Missing calls against the Chargers left and right, giving them bogus spots, etc.

    You’ve lost all objectivity bro.

  30. Howard Cosell Says:

ME13 is freakin’ Leonides from 300!
Speaking of will to win…the Brady factor is obvious now.
In recent years Bucs always always lost these type of games.
Brady sets the expectation and the younger guys buy into it.
Don’t get Howard wrong. he used to hate Brady in NE….but now
Howard sees what all the hype was about.

If ME is Leonides then LVD is freakin’ Iron Man…cause he can’t be
hurt by cheap shots and because he can fly…..and maybe shoot
    lases from his hands

    3-1!
    Last time Bucs were 3-1?
That would be the 1st quarter of Grudens first year.
    That would be 2002.
We know what happened after that!

Biscuit is looking fresh and savory!

  31. Buc4ever Says:

O line deserves kudos so does RoJo. This guys is what you get with Brady. Calm professionalism and confidence he can get it done. 30-46, 369 yards and 5TDs , 1int. and no sacks. The OLine protected all day and open holes. This team isn’t even starting to peak.

  32. Ndog Says:

BTW does anyone think it is ironic that the year the NFL simply stops calling holding on the oline is the year Brady comes to the holding capital of the world historical?

    Yeah don’t think so

  33. Doctor Stroud Says:

That fumble recovery right before the half sparked this team.

  34. Craig Says:

A very entertaining game that we actually won. Last season is sooo over.

  35. Casual Observer Says:

Agree with unbelievable. D wasn’t good, except at the very end. Got to fix that by Thursday. The GOAT was outstanding. Good RBs too. Nice win.

  36. Johnson U Says:

Tom Brady is vulturing td’s from his runningbacks in the redzone to pad his numbers. What a selfish pos

love how arians is now using play action lol

    🤗 Go Bucs! 😀

  39. NDog is an idiot Says:

Feels Great to have a real QB!!! ND, JameisAlmight and a few others… we all know what they are feeling!!!

  40. bojim Says:

dog boy. How bout a yay once in a while.

  41. Buc4ever Says:

Ndog. Just go to sleep now crybaby.

  42. No Risk It No Biscuit Says:

    Bears are next!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Bears……Realisto and his puppy are getting ready to hibernate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. Ndog Says:

The only difference between this game this year and the Giants game last year is our QB didn’t gift them 6 and the defense actually stopped them at the end this time AND they gifted us one of our TDs.

  44. Cannon Says:

NDog, why get upset with preferential treatment?

    We won man!

  45. Fred mcneil Says:

    I don’t effin believe it!

  46. Buc4ever Says:

Brady threw to nine different receivers today. Dangerous offense that is only to get better when Godwin gets back. WOW.

  47. Bird Says:

    Ndog

    You look worse
And showing true colors by the way
You are a jameis fan only

    —-

It was no different then last year
    Defense gave up plenty
    Missed fg
    Pick 6

    But here is the difference.
Brady won in the end . 5 td throws
I am embarrassed for you a lot
    Wrong again.

Brady balled where …well we know what would have happened with jameis. We saw that movie over and over again.

  48. BuccoDav Says:

RoJo did catch 6 balls… should have caught at least one more, the other one I saw was a tough catch.

  49. Fred mcneil Says:

Gimme tums, protonix, prilosec, alkaseltzer and valum

  50. Howard Cosell Says:

    Ndog mad bro

  51. Bird Says:

Now the bucs have luck according to ndog

I mean what a good pathetic loser she is.

  52. Coburn Says:

I’ll admit was kinda funny when Brady said screw it I’m throwing it up to Evans.. worked for Jameis enough. Well we all know Gronk can win them too. Still… Brady makes a lot of crucial calls at the line and can’t argue with 5 TD. The pick 6 I’d say half Brady half Watson. Close coverage but didn’t cut back to the ball . Just sorted slowed to a stop and didn’t fight for it

  53. David Says:

Great comeback. The offense and defense improved greatly the second half.

  54. Ndog Says:

Simply put we downgraded at QB plain and simple. But of course the NFL is going to do all it can to gift us games, so their money train looks good. How us this not clear to everyone?

OJ clearly fumbled, Shaq was clearly offsides, those to calls go against the Charges that changes the entire game and they were both crystal clear!

  55. NDog is an idiot Says:

    NDog is such a Pansy!!!

  56. Buc4ever Says:

Jameis… LOL. Brady still has it and it showed today. No fear.

  57. FairMinded Says:

Totally different mindset to this team from top to bottom. An absolute joy to watch

  58. Ivan The Insider Says:

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ NDOG UPSET!!!!!!

Any “Bucs fan” that’s not celebrating this amazing comeback win right now is NOT a Bucs fan. It’s just that simple.

Ndog has shown his true colors. He’s a Winston fan, not a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.

    LOL. What a loser.

  59. NDog is an idiot Says:

    NDog = POS

  60. bucsince79 aka bumaneer Says:

3 & 1… Kudos to Herbert he has a bright NFL future,,, ME13 is a beast!!! Great Game winning INT by Davis…

  61. FairMinded Says:

Hey Ndog I was a huge Jameis supporter but that’s past tense bro. Biden says…Just shut up man…

  62. Howard Cosell Says:

  63. Ivan The Insider Says:

    NDOG,

    LMAO!

    Downgraded at QB???

WAKE-UP CALL: After 4 games we’re scoring more points per game AND we’re 3-1.

You may be the biggest loser on the entire Internet.

  64. ©MadMax Says:

Sumbtch ndog has a problem…needs her diaper changed and cant stop crying about it.

  65. Drunkinybor Says:

Haters are never satisfied they can go root for the saints. Every Sunday you can get beat by anybody. Great halftime adjustments won this game. What a huge difference a real coaching staff makes. Brady was so calm and surgical in the pocket the second half. Can’t wait to see this team put together a complete game and everything come together.

  66. DBS Says:

Poor Npup. This is killing him. Drag your jazz to the Saints loser and watch your lover play. Oh wait he’s not is he?

  67. Surfslowson Says:

I will take any win, this was ugly. Previous Bucs teams would have lost this game but not this year.

  68. jcscycles Says:

Crazy ex-girlfriend morphs into Mr. Buzzkill. I think someone is rooting against our beloved Bucs. Shame on you, bad dog!

  69. Patrickbucs Says:

NDOG I swear is mentally unstable, I am not kidding. It’s concerning.

  70. Coburn Says:

Correct me if I’m wrong but Brady has yet to have a game where he has as many INT or more than TDs… Also yet to have one of those 4 INT games. Coming to a brand new team without much of an offsseason. Be may not match the yardage or TDs by end of seasoN but hr won’t be throwing almost as many INT as TD… not at this current pace. He might throw one a game in average which is high for him

  71. Ivan The Insider Says:

Can you imagine Ndog sitting in front of his TV each week to watch the Bucs games…

Sitting there with some drinks & snacks…

And every time Brady drops back to pass he ‘prays’ that it will be an INT so he can claim all of Winston’s INTs weren’t his fault.

    What a pathetic loser.

  72. Surfslowson Says:

@NDog you are a blind troll!!!!! The refs gave the Chargers calls all game. Our entire defensive line was being held all day and never got a single call. Obvious pass interference on Evans, he was tackled before the ball got to him. There was also a missed offensive pass interference on LVD.

  73. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Gee Joe, Rojo had 111 yards since none of his big runs got called back and he actually had a whole game to wear the defense down!! Where’s your boy??? Oh yeah he’s hurt!! And what’s his numbers again? Oh yeah ONLY one good run!! And who was it that said to sit Rojo and keep giving it to Fornette?? Oh yeah that was you…… How about Scotty Miller?? Who was it that cussed the coaches for even having him on the field because of his love affair with his boyfriend Winston? Oh yeah that was you too!!! …… And just to rub it in a little more have you EVER seen Winston mount a successful come back and look that poised and play that perfect while doing it??? Naaaaaa never happened!!!….. I read this because I can’t find bucs news and you do a good job of getting inside info out… But aside from that I’ve never seen a sports writer as bad at judging players and falling for glamour players as you!! The pewter report people are far better at breaking down actual football play and players themselves!!! If you want to be successful at judging players you need to stop buying into the hype every time!! ANYONE that knows or maybe played football could see that Miller was running really good routes and Winston was just missing him throwing too high AS USUAL and that Rojo has a better set of running ability than Fornette when there’s bad blocking….. So, yeah!!

  74. Bird Says:

Ndog , matt gay and jameis walk into a bar

  75. ElioT Says:

    Suck it NDog.

You sound like a poor little puppy who just got his n*ts clipped.

    GTFO beeeotch.

    Go Bucs!

  76. Coburn Says:

Yup Evans getting tackled, lvd OPI, the generous spot which luckily was a missed fg anyways.

  77. Coburn Says:

I’ll admit I didn’t think Miller would amount to much either… But he’s shown up big at times.. he’s the big downfield threas. Just need him to build confidence and consistency. I do love seeing those shorter throws being placed a bit lower where it’s nice and safe. Too many of those were unnecessarily high which is worst thing you could do with all the defenders behind.

  78. firethecannons Says:

Brady threw another pick six trying to get it to Watson
WTF? is it Byron or Watson or Brady

  79. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Fire…. It’s the route and the predictably…. Watson also ran it HORRIBLE!!! …. Brady yelled at him after that

  80. Coburn Says:

Could be all three. I think teams have seen that one too often.. tight coverage so prob shouldn’t be thrown. Route cut wasn’t crisp… Sorta just slowed to a halt at top of route

  81. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Coburn …. Yes the receivers needed to bring step ladder with them on their routes when Winston was under center!! His inaccuracy is what always killed me!! …. It is nice to see sick good ball placement

  82. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

Finally given the opportunity, RoJo produced! How do you like dem apples, Lee?? He still has bricks for hands, but displayed great burst, vision, cuts, and strength. Far better than Lenny, who had two great runs this season and nothing else.

  83. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

He needs to curl harder back to the ball…. He just did it lazy!! He did it to Winston multiple times too he just doesn’t run that route well

  84. NDog is an idiot Says:

Just passed NDog on his scooter on I-75. Was told he’s high tailin to New Orleans to offer his tail !!

  85. Joe Says:

Finally given the opportunity, RoJo produced! How do you like dem apples?? He still has bricks for hands, but displayed great burst, vision, cuts, and strength. Far better than Lenny, who had two great runs this season and nothing else.

Joe will take a game-sealing 30-yard run for touchdown over several drops and lousy open-field running any day. Sorry. Still not impressed.

  86. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Rojo would have run that to the house to Joe…. He had a wide open hole dude!!! …. You’re not impressed because you don’t understand it!! The guy you’re responding to made all valid points and because Fornette out ran one linebacker without having to break any tackles to do it… You would start him…. Wow man.. Just wow

  87. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Also while he did drop pass see also caught 6

  88. Buczilla Says:

Mike is a tough mf’er. Scooter came up big after some mistakes. The defense mostly played like a$$, but came through when they had to. The refs were very kind to us today and finally, after years of cringing when my qb goes back to throw, I can watch a game and enjoy the best ever go to work even after he made a dumba$$ mistake. We should have blown this team out, but I’ll take a win any day, no matter how ugly.

  89. BuccoDav Says:

    Joe Says:
Joe will take a game-sealing 30-yard run for touchdown over several drops and lousy open-field running any day. Sorry. Still not impressed.

Sure, Joe. RoJo did all the work in that game, too. That was a good run by Fournette, but even you could have run through the hole he was given.

  90. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Bucco… THANK YOU!!! Rojo is the harder runner with more ability…. Fornette goes down soon as someone touches him!! The pewter report guy pointed this out too

  91. Soggy Says:

Been gone for months now and I come back here to read ndog still bashing this team, NDOG is a Bucs Terrorist

  92. Buc_U Says:

N-dog sounds like Skip Bayless after Lebron wins a game..lol. Dude you must be smoking some strong stuff if you think the refs gifted us the game because they could have called holding on the chargers damn near every pass play. There was an obvious offensive PO on Carlton Davis. But let’s say your theory is correct and the refs did give use favorable calls…..WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MATTER?!? WE WON THE GAME!!! Get out of here and let the real fans celebrate.

  93. NashvilleBuc Says:

There were plenty of blown calls on both sides as usual. This was a fairly won game. NDog STFU and go root for Jaymiss and the Aints.

  94. Youngbucs Says:

Somebody take ndog for a walk 😂
