Report: Godwin Out This Week

September 30th, 2020

Update.

It doesn’t sound good for Bucs receiver Chris Godwin.

Godwin, the Bucs’ Pro Bowl receiver, suffered what Ian Rapoport of NFL Network deemed a “mild strain” of his hamstring in the win at Denver on Sunday.

Rapoport said Godwin won’t play this Sunday when the Bucs host the Chargers, and his status is in doubt for the following Thursday night game at Chicago.

Obviously, this is bad but Joe would rather see Godwin come back 100 percent and not try to rush things only to reinjure his hamstring.

You can see Rapoport’s report in the NFL Network video below.

  1. Ryan Cannon Says:

Smart move. The Chargers are a team that we “should” be able to beat, without the services of Godwin. Let him rest and heal up.

Maybe Tyler Johnson can step up in this game.

  2. 813bucboi Says:

    rest up….

    next man up…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  3. yeah Says:

    And next week too

  4. Don't Be a NDOG Says:

Clearly the bucs missed one important hire on the “largest coaching staff”… a Yoga instructor! They gotta get these guys nice and limber..

In all seriousness, I have listened to both CG and ME13 talk about utilizing the TB12 diet. I am beginning to wonder if there is something in that regimen that causes muscle strain problems. I mean it clearly has helped Brady maintain his ability to play the game, but he isn’t running routes.

Godwin is a beast and I hope he heals up quickly! Go Bucs baby

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

For the best…..need to let it heal completely…..

  6. SB Says:

Hey Joe, any word on Justin Watson?

  7. Bucamania Says:

Good lord this team needs a stretching coach

  8. SB Says:

“Brady’s yards per attempt aren’t substantially lower (he’s averaging 6.91 yards per attempt versus Jameis Winston’s 7.98 yards last year), the Bucs’ completion percentage has gone up from 60.2% to 65.1%, and their red zone touchdown percentage has gone from 27.3% in the first three games of 2019 to 80% in 2020. Brady is also completing 50% of his passes of 20-plus air yards versus Winston’s 45%”. — Jenna Laine

    ……………………

And queue Ndog with excuses! Lol

  9. Goforthwface30 Says:

I don’t think it’s bad at all, everyone knew he was injured – it was a matter of how long he was going to be out. Were lucky he wasn’t gonna be gone for half the yr with lingering issues the whole yr. sounds like we can get him back at 100% in short order. I’d like him healthy for the Green Bay and Kansas City games etc

  10. Allbuccedup Says:

Now Brady can throw half dozen passes to Evans to get his stats up. Looks like when Godwins out he throws to Evans more. When Godwin plays he looks at him first.

  11. Ndog Says:

Jameis Winston was the #5 QB in the NFL in the redzone passing last season and that was without a run game. And the team was #3 in the league in redzone % in scoring TDs.

Keep spread the bullsh*t though it just shows how foolish you are.

  12. #1bucfan Says:

NDOG serious what does any of those stats means if we don’t win games and don’t make the playoffs ? Please answer.

  13. Ndog Says:

In case you didn’t know football is not a one on one sport so what it says is our QB was playing on a team that sucked around him, and the below numbers further support that:

    Since 2015 the Buccaneers were:
    30th in yards per carry
24th in rushing yards per game
31th on in 1st down % on runs
    25th in rushing TDs
    31st in points allowed
    31st in opposer passer rating
    25th in scrimmage yards allowed

AND THIS DOESN’T EVEN SPEAK TO THE HORRIFIC KICKING OVER THE LAST 5+ YEARS.

  14. Ndog Says:

Jameis Winston was asked to win games pretty much with the help of a few WRs and that’s it, yet we constantly hear well didn’t win. Well duh show me the QB that would win with that ⬇️

    Since 2015 the Buccaneers were:
    30th in yards per carry
24th in rushing yards per game
31th on in 1st down % on runs
    25th in rushing TDs
    31st in points allowed
    31st in opposer passer rating
    25th in scrimmage yards allowed

AND THIS DOESN’T EVEN SPEAK TO THE HORRIFIC KICKING OVER THE LAST 5+ YEARS.

  15. Cobraboy Says:

What is the status of Watson?

  16. Cobraboy Says:

Hey, Npup, what’s up with Jameis Christ’s “sheets” this year?

  17. tickrdr Says:

Weren’t the Bucs #1 in TURNOVERS too.
    Asking for a friend.

    tickrdr

  18. Ndog Says:

Yes they were and that is what happy when the other team is ahead, cause you can’t stop anybody and knows what you are going to do cause you are in predictable situations AND can’t run the ball.

  19. SB Says:

Brady’s yards per attempt aren’t substantially lower (he’s averaging 6.91 yards per attempt versus Jameis Winston’s 7.98 yards last year), the Bucs’ completion percentage has gone up from 60.2% to 65.1%, and their red zone touchdown percentage has gone from 27.3% in the first three games of 2019 to 80% in 2020. That is all you need to know right there npup. Calling Jenna Laine stupid huh

  20. unbelievable Says:

Sucks, but I’d rather see him come back full healthy for Green Bay.

Time for Miller and Johnson to step up in his absence.

@SB- you’re doing quite well in the pickem league my friend! I had an absolutely awful week 1. Hoping to make up some ground.. but then I forgot to make a pick before the Thursday night game which certainly doesn’t help! D’oh!

  21. Ndog Says:

Oh yes she is one of the most clueless of them all. Have you ever heard her ask a question?

If she your measuring stick then you might as well go to bed.

Prime example comparing 3 games when in Jameis first 3 games, which by the way the offense was new to EVERYONE, is ridiculous as he faced the 49ers who just went into the SUPERBOWL with a dominant defense that year, a Luke K. led Panthers defense that had been together for years and the Giants where Jameis dominated. Whereas this year we played the Saints who whipped our butt, the Panthers who are in a new system and lost an all time great ILB and the Broncos who were starting 2 rookie corners and were missing their HOF OLB and the other OLB is just coming off a torn ACL.

Yeah that’s apples to apples, again proving how horrible she is at her job

    CONTEXT MATTERS!!

  22. #1bucfan Says:

NDOG again stats are for players who are playing for pro bowl and not champs. We have the same exact defense as last year. Winston was the QB last year an yet we didn’t make the playoffs and he lost games for us. Now we have a QB who can take us where Winston can’t. Yet your still mad. You might wanna tighten up bro. The team quit on him cause of his turnovers. You wanna blame everyone but Winston again tighten up bro. Winston played great at times but he’s not consistent. Tom Brady is and he has the 6 rings to prove it. What does Winston have 1 season with 5k yards ok cool. The only stats that matter at the end of the day are wins and loses. That’s what makes you a starter or a bench warmer and where is he at on the bench.

  23. adam from ny Says:

there are signs all this week at ray jay for fans all around the stadium…

    it says:

“WHEN GOING TO CONCESSIONS OR POTTY, PLEASE MOVE ABOUT SLOWLY, SO TO NOT PULL A HAM STRING”

  24. adam from ny Says:

    kicking issues have waned…

now the bucs are a hammy strained team

    #MoonsOverMyHammy

  25. Ndog Says:

1bucfan if you are seriously sitting on this page try to convince anyone that the defense the first 10 games last year is anywhere close to the defense this year then apparently you didn’t watch the games last year or you just really don’t understand sports at all.

Last year we had White, we had Bunting, we had Dean and we had Edwards all playing significant steps if not starting the first half of the year and we also had no JPP. Now you tell me all those guys with the full year of experience and JPP is not different than this year and oh by the way last year it was a brand new defense which they were all learning together again with four rookies playing the vast majority of the snaps at their positions. So you mean to tell me more experienced players, better players in the same defense is not a much better unit?

Again if you think that’s equivalent then why are you on a football blog because you don’t know nothing about football?

  26. Daminator Says:

    To ndog

Five years of no playoffs. Five years with no hope for playoffs. Five years (almost) the leader of our team with horrific character. Now we hope for the playoffs and more. Supporters of this team find your whining and negativity as disgusting as Winstons character.
Now we have a team we can watch with our daughters without embarrassment.

  27. Ndog Says:

Yes what horrible character, helping out kids in our community, helping out kids in his home town. Creating a hotline to help people with COVID, donating to restaurants in Tampa in need while closed due to COVID while playing for the Saints.

  28. Cajun 69 Says:

Ndog. Maybe it’s time for you to move To New Orleans wear you can pay to Winston..And the Saints because your a crappy!!! Bucs fan lol
