Bucs Sign Practice Squad Kicker

September 8th, 2020

New kicker in the house

No, Matt Gay is not the newest member of the Buccaneers practice squad.

Calm down.

But the Bucs did add an experienced kicker to their practice squad today. He’s Greg Joseph.

Ironically, Joseph had a solid rookie season for the Browns in 2018, when the Bucs struggled at kicker after signing expensive ones. Joseph was undrafted out of Florida Atlantic. Last season, he was the Titans’ late-season kicker and was perfect in the playoffs. For his career, Joseph is 12-of-12 on field goals less than 40 yards.

    JL and his kickers.

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Matt Gay must have the plague…….I mean, he had a bad couple of games but he should be at least worthy of a PS slot.

  4. John Sinclear Says:

JL and the Kickers. Sounds like a good name for a rock band.

  5. Alexandre Nascimento Says:

Why he was cut by the Titans?

  6. 813bucboi Says:

i knew that was JL at the park scouting soccer players…lol…

Without Zen and Taoism and Yoga and Buddhism,

    no kicker can succeed.

Only a meditator can be a professional kicker.

    Its all in the mind.

So what’s wrong with him now that the Titans didn’t keep him? AND we have the guy they replaced (Succop) if I am correct.

  9. SlyPirate541 Says:

They should have an open try out for kicker. 1000 people from across the country get a chance to make an NFL team. That would be a lot of fun for the media. You could make a reality tv show about it.

  10. Waterboy Says:

Gay didn’t even get picked up for the practice squad!! What’s going on there? Seems to be a lot more to that story.

    @Waterboy,

I believe he’s lost confidence. In other words, the disease is called the Aguayo effect.

There is no try, only do—. Yoda

  13. Joe in Michigan Says:

Are the Bucs going to save money by giving him Davin Joseph’s old jersey?

  14. Joe in Michigan Says:

Never mind, it’s illegal for a kicker to wear the number 75 in the NFL. Hahaha

  15. unbelievable Says:

So why was this guy available? Sounds like he played well (I know nothing about him and haven’t looked)

  16. Joe in Michigan Says:

I saw Joseph’s winning field goal when Cleveland beat the Ravens. It went through, but man it was ugly.

  17. BillyBucFan Says:

    I agree with Teacherman.
Just look at Justin Tucker, the best kicker in NFL History.

He is an Opera Singer basically.

Tell me that isn’t like meditation.

These kickers have talent but need to smoke a cig while kicking or something like The Replacements movie.

JMark, a couple of years ago I had a professional prepare my resume. While preparing it, she asked me if I had a “life motto” that I “lived by”. I was unprepared for that question and pressured, the quote that you just cited was the only one that came to mind; so that’s what I gave her. It wasn’t until the drive home that I remembered that it was Yoda’s! A true LOL!

As good as any, I figured!
