Bucs Dump Kyle Love

September 3rd, 2020

Bucs rookie DT Khalil Davis

The veteran depth on the Bucs’ defensive line took a hit this morning.

Kyle Love was cut. The 33-year-old defensive tackle, who played in two Super Bowls and was Gerald McCoy’s backup in Carolina last year, was launched after about three weeks with the Bucs.

Before this move, Joe was supremely confident rookie sixth-round pick Khalil Davis out of Nebraska had already made the team. Now Joe is 100 percent sure. Davis was lauded multiple times by coaches for his pass rush ability, and don’t get rid of a young DT with true pass rush talent.

Final cuts are due by Saturday at 4 p.m.

With Khalil Davis have a great rookie camp as a passing DT and Rakeem Nuñez-Roches playing at a high level with added strength and weight, no need to keep Kyle Love. Should save just around 1 mil in cap money.

  2. Hodad Says:

Well we had to save some cash somewhere, and I’m glad this shows they believe in Davis. My question is why are they still paying Justin Evans?

  3. Allbuccedup Says:

    Good

  4. Sarasota Garey Says:

This probably puts us back in the positives for cap space, we should try and sign another db.

You can’t cut an injured player under contract – you need to work out an injury settlement.”

  6. ocala Says:

The Bucs have the most talented roster in the NFL. Now, lets see what Arians, Bowles and Brady can do with it.

  7. 813bucboi Says:

i think we still need a vet safety for depth but our roster is very solid….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. Sick of the lies Says:

There should be a JBF post on how the Bucs have Dumped on their revenue stream err the season ticket holders! F.. you Bucs!

  9. TOM Says:

Andrew Adams is the vet safety. I know its not the name recognition we’re looking for but he’s been pretty decent when called on. I believe J Evans days are numbered.

  10. adam from ny Says:

wow sounds like davis is gonna work out…

we need this type of late round draft success

  11. Casual Observer Says:

As stated. Cap savings plus Davis is really good.

They’ve proven themselves to be just another globalist agenda-driven bolshevik corporation. I figured this out after seeing last year’s cheerleading squad.

This is pretty much true of all of our sports leagues now apparently. All of the owners can survive a season or more without fans. Whatever it takes until the middle class is sufficiently demoralized and destroyed. This has been planed for a long time. More proof will take place on the field when they force their social marxism on anybody willing to watch.

    Need the money for Fournette.

Bush save your ignorant dribble for your favorite fever swamp message board. We are trying to talk Bucs football here.

  15. Wayne PEREZ Says:

Bush and sick of lies it’s not the bucs it’s our so called dictators making the rules the bucs will lose about 10 million a home game

Tom right on. Adams is a quality depth player. He’s reliable doesn’t get out if position and can even mix in a big play here or there. He reminds me of Minter that way.

I also think we are in good share at CB with Bunting as CB3……He can fill in on the boundary if needed and something tells me Bowles has guys flexible enough to hold down nickle when needed……..And if we are all in I’m looking at trade deadline to add a player at CB if our guys cant hack it.

If ya ask me Edge is the weakest spot on defense…..and offense. I’d really love to see them add a good quality rotational guy. It’s a position that’s more then just a backup…..OLB #3 is a position that will be taking important snaps all year…….I have no confidence in anybody on the current roster to play that role. Maybe somebody will suprize.

    So laughably stupid.

    You are on a roll!
