Shady’s In Town!

August 1st, 2020

Shady is now plowing through the Florida heat.

Shady is in Tampa!

New Bucs running back and future Hall of Famer LeSean “Shady” McCoy is in town, but not (yet) at One Buc Palace.

How does Joe know? Because Shady Twittered out proof.

It looks like Shady has been working out at Skyway Park in Tampa, which a lot of Bucs and ex-Bucs players do. And Shady posted a video to Twitter showing what a few rounds against the Tampa summer weather will do to a 32-year old body no matter how good of shape he’s in.

For years Shady had training camps at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., the Eagles home complex in Philly and St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, N.Y. where the Bills train. Those locales are not exactly the furnace Florida is in the summer.

Now last year Shady trained in St. Joseph, Mo., the Chiefs’ training camp home (under normal years). It’s sort of an exurb of Kansas City (think Sarasota to Tampa). Trust Joe, it get can roasting hot in western Missouri along the Missouri River. Joe’s been there. A summer day of high humidity and 100 degrees is not unusual this time of year.

But it is not relentless like Florida.

And if one lives in a moderate climate and plops down in the middle of Florida on an August day, it can be a shock to the system — as it seems to be for Shady who is already getting himself acclimated.

It always seemed that Shady used to have some of his best games galloping through the snow. That won’t be the case in Tampa.

Hopefully, Shady can slice through the thick Florida air just as well as the snow.

Hopefully he has something left in the tank

Which Shady are we getting..? He of Eagles fame or he of Chiefs depth chart dweller?

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Joe is so excited that we got a has-been running back, lol.

  7. Casual Observer Says:

He is a decade younger than our GOAT. Maybe that will motivate him to excel again. Seems like a good signing.

  8. Joe Says:

    has-been running back, lol.

“Has been” ran better than Bucs No. 1 RB. 🤔🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  9. Aceofaerospace Says:

It’s not like we mortgaged the future to sign him. If he helps the youngsters and maybe helps us win a game or two, it’s all good.

  10. SOEbuc Says:

The FHOF vet RB receiver that Tom Brady has to have to win according to many. Just like the joke that Tom Brady and Mike Evans won’t be able to connect 40-50 yards downfield.

    Welcome to Tampa Shady!

  12. Big Stinky Says:

SIX WASTED YEARS with turnover PRONE QB’S. Haven’t been this excited to start a season since Sapp and Rice were hunting QB’S. The Glazers and Licht have ALL but ruined football for me but I can be happy for a moment at least. Couldn’t stomach another year of watching SHAMELESS play QB. Shady is the sprinkles but the cherry on top would be a veteran CB.

  13. Barlow Says:

Oh man stagnant Tampa bay heat. Sucking wind and that’s one of our advantages but it wears you out

  14. JimbobBucsFan Says:

    Yeah, welcome to you, Shady.

You should help everyone in the running back room to elevate their games. You will also help in whatever role you get to play in the games from week to week.

In BA I Trust. Play offs or bust!

  15. Crockett69 Says:

    Yeah man quit ripping Joe

  16. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Now get Clay Matthews! These last minute veteran moves will be key for this team. Happy to have McCoy!
