No Pitch Count

August 18th, 2020

“Bruce, you wouldn’t tell Bob Gibson to quit throwing, would you? If Clyde Christensen ever tells me to quit throwing, I might punch him.”

If fans were allowed at training camp practice this year, an NFL Network talking head can promise they would have not seen a certain a stunt.

Per James Palmer, fans wouldn’t see park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady ripping through the Bucs’ defense and then have a coach come up to him and say, “Sorry Tom, you’re at 80 pitches. Even though you are throwing a no-hitter, time to hit the showers so we can have a sh!tty reliever blow the lead.”

That will not happen at Bucs training camp.

“He is not getting his throws limited,” Palmer said of Brady’s rifling passes in practice. “He is out there slinging it. Maybe more than what I have seen him at practices up in New England the past couple of years.”

You can see Palmer’s full report in the NFL Network video below. He is embedded with the Bucs by The Shield’s house organ for a full month.

Palmer added one reason Brady is throwing so much is to get his timing down. Oh, and check out what unit the Bucs are absolutely stoked about using in the red zone.

And enjoy a special guest appearance from the NFL Network’s It Girl, the one and only Kay Adams! You are welcome.

This is nuts! How can you not love this hype. It’s real! TB12 is here to win.

    We are now the hunted!

It’ll be fascinating to see how defenses play us. I hope they keep stacking the box. This QB will catch that S up!

    Go Bucs!

@SB – agree. Let’s assume health. These Bucs have never played under circumstances like PATS, being the “Hunted”. Brady as Bucs QB changes the Bucs team from Hunter to Hunted. Brady has a BIG Lift to change team mentality – and believe he can do it.

Am a wanna-be-believer, but still am hopeful skeptic. Too many reasons to share….but so excited for the season to freaking start!!!!

Let TB do and practice how he wants. Does anyone else here have six rings in a display case? I don’t, and neither does anyone else on the planet!

    @REDZONE BA

I’ve never bought into any teams being hunted. If this was NBA/NHL maybe, but there are only 16 games, these teams try to win weekly no matter who they’re playing.

That doesn’t mean they don’t focus on different skill players, and Brady will be one of them for sure, but as the article mentioned, he’s usually not surrounded by so many talented catchers which should help, and they’ve been hunting him for years and he’s been… you know, a decent QB lol

A day without Kay Adams is like a day without sunshine!!

Was not talking about Brady. I recall he has a bunch of rings. The bucs team however is not used to being in this position. I suspect we were the “homecoming game” for a lot of teams last year. I think that’s why we surprised the Rams at home and the Seahawks at home. Those situations will not happen again. Perhaps lauded is not the right term. But I do believe that the intensity will be different this year from opponents.

  17. BA Redzone Says:

    Hunted ,not lauded. Autocorrect!
