Mindset

August 22nd, 2020

Head in right place.

Joe is confident Bucs fans have heard Lavonte David speak many times.

And if you listen closely to David’s words, there seems to be a constant theme for him over the years.

“Mindset.”

Joe really feels for David. All of the various headcases and losers David has had to deal with in his Bucs’ career, it is a wonder David’s mindset isn’t in the toilet by now.

Well, James Jones believes in mindset too. And the former Packers receiver and current NFL Network talking head believes park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady and foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski bring the perfect mindset to the Bucs.

Yes, the Bucs are loaded with weapons. And thanks to the signing of Brady and the trade for Gronk, the Bucs are getting hyped through the roof. On any other team, Jones said this would be playing with fire, as too many players would be reading the headlines and the blogs and seeing their grills on NFL Network and FS1 and on the four-letter.

But for Brady and Gronk, Jones believes he hears in their voices that this Bucs team had a world of work to do before they can start talking playoffs.

In other words, for Brady and Gronk, until December (or January) rolls around, each day is another day at the construction company building brick by brick.

In fact, Jones said Brady and Gronk bring this mindset to the Bucs from the Belicheats. And Jones added, it is needed with the Bucs.

Jones calls it a “championship mindset.”

You can see and hear Jones along with former Texans quarterback David Carr discuss Gronk’s return to the NFL with the Bucs in this NFL Network video below.

Normally I would be freaking out over this hype but I feel the mindset of this team has changed. Last year the browns and the 2017 team talked a big game but nobody on this team is crowning themselves. With all the coverage people are keeping an even keel and I find myself too. This team is going to put it all together finally as one team. I am beyond excited to roll into the empty super dome and pound those loser saints into the ground.
