Jason Licht Says Practices Have Changed

August 11th, 2020

Bucs GM Jason Licht.

Out with the old quarterback and in with a very different kind of leader.

Seventh-year Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht was on FOX Sports Radio today and gave his insight into the no-pads training sessions at One Buc Palace featuring Tom Brady.

Media only has been granted 30 minutes of viewing since they started, so Joe was especially glad to hear Licht’s impressions.

Brady has been a game changer, per Licht, even in underwear football.

“There’s definitely a different aura to practice,” Licht said.

‘There’s just a different feel. It’s very efficient. The players are gravitating to [Tom Brady] like you would expect. I was, you know, in New England for six years when he was the quarterback. So I’m not as in awe as a lot of other people here that haven’t been around him. … It’s just a different feel but we’re taking it one day at a time here. We all know we have a lot of work to do before we kick off here in a little over a month.”

Joe loves hearing this from Licht because despite all the silly culture change chatter of last season, the Bucs really needed a changed aura at One Buc Palace. The stench of losing and sloppiness and ineptitude soiled Year 1 of the Bruce Arians regime.

Joe’s ecstatic that the Brady impact is being felt the way Licht describes. It has to be for the Bucs to turn things around in a hurry.

What, Tom’s not planning to “eat W’s” prior to kickoff to motivate the Bucs? It worked great for Winston.

  2. VAbucfan Says:

We already got rid of our big problem for losing last year. We may not make it through the whole season before we get rid of the other reason for losing, looking at you Mr. Gay!

  3. bucsfan951 Says:

naturally! the bucs have an actual leader behind center. one that doesnt use google to teach himself the game of football. its a new day, bucs fans. now its time for the players to put everything together and make it happen.

“i prefer my qbs to use yahoo instead of google.” -951

    GO BUCS!!!!

  5. Sarasota Garey Says:

Winston put up big numbers his first year running Arians offense, I see Brady being alot more efficient, with less turnovers.

  6. D-Rome Says:

I was, you know, in New England for six years when he was the quarterback.

Yes, we *ALL* know and this team has done nothing under his reign of terror despite that experience.

  7. Ndog Says:

VAbucfan I didn’t know we got rid of the entire defense?

  8. VABucsfan Says:

The defense was actually in the upper echelon of NFL defenses the last 8 weeks last year. They vastly improved as the year went on! Like Stephen A Smith said, ya boy should’ve been Defensive Player of the Year last year for all the opportunities he gave to the opposing offenses! Jameis was far more responsible for the loses than the defense was. Sorry to burst your bubble!

  9. Bobby M. Says:

The players, particularly the vets, seem thrilled to no longer be force fed Winston as their “leader” due to his draft status.

  10. Ndog Says:

Ok buddy yeah I was blown away by the defense doing well against David Blough and Gardner Minshew.

This defense lost the Giants, Seahawks, Saints and Atlanta games and tried like heck to lose the Cardinals game but ok tell yourself they were good.

  11. adam from new york Says:

tommy been eating W’s since day one

  12. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Npuppy needs to go to the saints boards and tell them about how great winston is and see if they care.

    No one in here cares.

  13. Ndog Says:

Of course he has Adam not too hard to eat W’s when your defense and kicking game basically wins games for you and all you got to do is throw for 120 yards and one touchdown and get wins. Wow a lot of guys could do that what a great player!

  14. bucsfan951 Says:

thats like the jamies winston lead offense who beat the 31,17,28,23,21,18,26th ranked defenses last year.

i guess it works both ways, right???

  15. Ndog Says:

No one here cares about what I washed up 43-year-old quarterback has done on the team either.

  16. Ndog Says:

Yeah 951 it’s hard to win games your defense can’t stop anybody so that’s stat is kind of useless. Heck with this defense and kicking game every win was a freaking miracle we’re lucky we won any games they were so freaking horrible.

  17. VABucsfan Says:

The fact remains that he had 14 turnovers against divisional opponents last year, 14!!! Last time I checked, Falcons and Saints were in our division last year. So just wondering, are you a Saints fan now?

  18. Buc15 Says:

This is why we need to draft a qb next year to study the GOAT and how he operates.

  19. bucsfan951 Says:

ok, so that stat is useless when it doesnt fit your agenda. jw beat teams that defense’s didnt even crack the top half of defensive rankings!

but again, YOU can use that stat but then when its used against you, its useless.

FACTS NPUPPY!!! you cant refute the facts!!!

geez my dude, you gotta come more correct than that! youre just too easy to prove wrong.

  20. Buc15 Says:

NDOG…..bruh…..word on the street is Winston is coming back next year. This was all part of the plan to gather info on the Saints while Brady takes us to the ship this year.

  22. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Ndog – simple question hoping for an honest answer from you; were the 9 loses last year partly the result of Winston’s turnovers / poor play?

  23. SOEbuc Says:

“Puts the ball exactly where it needs to be.”-Godwin. Droooooooooolll.

  24. Hodad Says:

Went from a jackass to a goat, enough said.

  25. Clean House Says:

    Check yo sheets

  26. Mike Says:

JW pick six leader, Check yo sheet

  27. lambchop Says:

Those sheets are soiled of the JW stench. It was time we turned over a new sheet. The kind that may only have 5-8 INTs in a SEASON and not 2-3 games.

  28. '79 Defense Says:

I still wonder about Licht’s comments on Hard Knocks the WInston was the best leader he’s ever seen. Ever.

  29. No Risk It No Biscuit Says:

The stench of losing and sloppiness and ineptitude soiled Year 1 of the Bruce Arians regime. In others words……
