Interesting Pass From Buccaneers

August 15th, 2020

Censored?

What is this, the Kremlin in 1979?

The Buccaneers held a practice yesterday and the team’s in-house media crew was permitted to attend while outside media was locked out. Zero complaints from Joe. As Mark Cuban bellowed many years ago, teams would be very wise to limit outside media while simultaneously propping up their expensive in-house media. It was a smart call by Cuban then and the wisdom holds true today.

So typing after Friday’s practice, team reporter Carmen Vitali declared that Tom Brady, in his first day facing the Bucs defense, was picked off by second-year safety Mike Edwards, so she wrote at Buccaneers.com.

“Immediately after that pass – we got the first interception of Brady. It was safety Mike Edwards that did the honors, making a great read and jumping a route just as Brady fired a pass off toward the sideline. “

Joe read this and eagerly was awaiting the video of Brady getting picked. After all, the Buccaneers’ A-list video team shares all sorts of highlights and fun. But the video never arrived.

Joe thinks this was a calculated move to not embarrass Brady and/or give the haters and national talking heads a bunch of easy fodder.

Why else would the team not share what might be one of the highlights of Edwards’ young career, and surely a spirited moment for the entire Bucs defense? A bad camera moment?

Joe sure hopes to see this video. Way to go, Mike!

Imagine the defense if this kid can step up… I’m drooling thinking about it

  2. CalBucsFan Says:

Highlight of his career? A practice interception?? Geez, I sure hope we barely even remember it when his Bucs career is over!

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Conspiracy……

  4. hammerhead Says:

    Q says there’s a cover up 😂😂😂😂😂

  5. m0j0 Says:

It wasn’t an interception. It was deliberate. Brady looking to get in his head and give him a boost of confidence… 🙂

  6. '79 Defense Says:

After the article you wrote yesterday about the (relative) importance of this first practice against the defense, I was wondering why you didn’t have a follow-up on it. Now I know.

  7. SufferingSince76 Says:

    Not worried at all.

  8. SOEbuc Says:

These early round DBs secondary has a ton of potential to learn from Todd Bowels. Edwards didn’t have a great rookie year and this offseason has been terrible on DBs, but I’m going to have an excited eye on him.

  9. Clean House Says:

Brady’s got to work out the kinks- I mean come on he’s only human right?
Maybe Edwards deserves some credit for a good play-

Maybe Brady is not super human?

I mean give me a break people

  10. Cobraboy Says:

Expect perfection in the first pactice with a new team without pads?

    Okay…

  11. DoooshLaRue Says:

It’s got to have something to do with the conspiracy against JayMiss….. right Ndog?

    Oops…. forgot…..

    He gone!

  12. Leighroy Says:

I’m sure Brady has never been intercepted in practice. Let alone in mid August! Can’t wait for this “burial” of the video to be 1st story on PTI.

This is a nothing event like the rain at 5pm, south Tampa flash flooding and motorcyclists throttling their engines in Ybor City.

  13. Oneilbucs Says:

I just hope that Brady doesn’t have to throw 45 times a game just to win .

    Sounds like Jameis…just saying.

Anybody want to go jump off the sunshine skyway? Jk it’s alright we got Brady right? Go Bucs! Just don’t catch COVID.

  16. DoooshLaRue Says:

I just hope that TB12 realizes that he is blessed and that he just needs to stop making mistakes and get better.

Maybe he can Google how not to throw interceptions, then check his sheet.

    God is good.

  17. TampaTown Says:

Wow! What ya know, the media censoring the real news.

  18. Bucnjim Says:

You know things are going your way when you have to dig for mistakes. This teams mistakes would smack us in the face every sunday and not just the QB! When a team is full of leaders both on and off the field mistakes are very hard to find because of accountability.

I get the media has become the new whipping boy especially for the cult members but jeesh.

It’s NOT THE MEDIA censoring this IT’S THE BUCS!!!

Now for the slow on the uptake…get this…the Bucs have the RIGHT to censor whatever they wish…it’s their team…PRIVATE video. Whether we like it or not could be debated but it IS their legal right.

IT IS NOT the legal right of OUR GOVERNMENT to hide stuff from us…they are not a private concern like the Bucs.

The MEDIA is not a monolith…they HIDE NOTHING. You can find whatever you want…of course you may feel like Bruce Springsteen…”57 channels and nothin’ on.”

DooshBag :wash your mouth out piggy!

  27. All lives matter Says:

It’s not like we never saw Winston throw a crapload of picks in practice. Plus remember our defense knows our offense. Edwards jumped the route. You only do that if you’re sure what the route is going to be. Against other teams, their defenses won’t be as sure and less likely to jump routes.

  28. Buccfan37 Says:

A live pick off in a game that counts and is televised will bring out the same excuses.

The black player intercepted the white QB twice…wonder if either was a pick6
    ________

And the white QBs have 51 Super Bowl wins vs 3 wins for black QBs …..and one of those is half white….

So what’s your point Big Racist?

  30. BigHog Says:

Only 48 of those white QB’s won THE SUPER BOWL ..3 won the NFL vs AFL Championship.

  31. BigHog Says:

And the way slaves (men and women) interacted with the Anglo-Saxon (slave owners) there is no telling how many mutts have won a Super Bowl!!! You’ll have to check their sheets!!!

  32. Jeremy Yawn Says:

I bet Tom Brady was told to throw an interception so it would make the defense feel good about themselves
