Bonehead Play Cost Bucs Returner

August 21st, 2020

Now looking for return man.

No tackling means no tackling and this is why.

Yesterday, the Bucs were in the middle of no-tackling drills. Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians does not like players beating up their own teammates. They must stay healthy for obvious reasons. Hard to win games with players on crutches.

Well, Bucs reserve linebacker Quinton Bell got dumb and/or selfish yesterday — you pick — and injured running back/projected starting return man T.J. Logan. It was bad enough that Logan had to be carted off the practice field. That’s usually a very bad sign.

And so it was. Jenna Laine of ESPN reports Logan is now out for the year.

Bucs running back TJ Logan was carted off the practice field Thursday with a right knee injury, and a source told ESPN that it is a ruptured patellar tendon. He will undergo surgery Saturday and the source said he is likely out for the season.

Of course, Joe knows some fans will say, “Hey, the Bucs suck at the return game, so what?” Well, the Bucs think Logan had promise and he was good in limited action last year. And since it is Aug. 21, two weeks before cutdowns, outside of dudes who are retired, there likely isn’t anyone worth a potful of vomit worth signing.

Anyone have Devin Hester’s number?

Can Dare or Watson handle returns?

Can Dare or Watson handle returns?

Joe trusts Watson more than Dare. Pretty sure we will find out who among the current Bucs can return. Scotty Miller?

    damn…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  4. El Buco Realisto Says:

Might as well call Hester, He is a big name, and way past his prime!!!!!!! That seems to be important and exciting for the sheep around here!!!!!!!! It does not matter that the production has dropped off and now they will just limp around on the field!!!!!!!!!! When this doomed experiment for a one year window that was scrapped together by a desperate gm and coach fails, maybe next year decision will be based on production!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

They should make Quinton Bell be in the waiting room for Logan’s surgery.

Team-wise, it really won’t affect things that much. Player-wise, it really sucks for Logan. A real shame.

The truth is, we don’t know how he would have done at returner.

  6. Perimeter Blocker Says:

Winfield did punt returns in college from what I have seen…

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    What about Raymond Calais?…..at least he’s a KR……maybe PR…..

Both Calais & Logan were not going to make the final cut….

  8. D-Rome Says:

    I agree.

  9. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @buc bonsai

Wrong!!!!!!!!!! We know exactly what he would done as returner!!!!!!!!! Tackled from behind and hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Bell was catching him from behind, then it would have happened during game time as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dare is slow, this would be a perfect excuse for the seventh round rb to make the team.I really dont see the need for Dare.Hes like a jaquiz rodgers clone.Hes not horrible but hes not that good either.Sure he can be trusted not to make a mistake but if thats the mindset when picking your starters you should just waive the white flag befroe the season even starts.

Someone with some REAL wheels needs to be back there

  11. Cobraboy Says:

    Calais?

  12. Joe Says:

    Calais?

    Good idea.

  13. German Buc Says:

Wasn’t Calais drafted for his KR/PR abilities?

  14. yeah Says:

Give Dante Hall a call after Hester. Maybe we can get Michael Spurlock to put on the pads again too 🤣😂

  15. james west Says:

cut bell, get rid of this dumbass, don’t need his selfish BS

  16. StatGuy Says:

Didn’t Percy Harvin want to come play for us.

    This is so sad!!!

    Wheres the compassion people?

  18. jerk04 Says:

realists you have without a doubt taken over the role or moron since Ndog left or changed his name. Because he got hurt on one play he was guaranteed to get hurt returning kicks. That makes a lot of sense. Ladies and Gentlemen i give you Joe Bucs new number one moron commentator. You were already a close 2nd.

Here comes his repetitive sheep blabber.

  19. PSL Bob Says:

Scotty Miller is a logical choice, but sounds like he may have a solid role on offense. Certainly don’t want him to get banged up returning kickoffs and unavailable to fulfill his receiving duties.

  20. Doctor_Berto Says:

Feel bad for Logan but he was not a good return man

  21. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Quinton Bell is in BA dog house. He better step up big time if he plans to make the team.

  22. WillieG Says:

Quinton Bell should be released. We do not need dumb or selfish

  23. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Bell should be cut. No excuse for stuff like that

  24. Pewter Power Says:

Joe trusts Watson more than Dare. Pretty sure we will find out who among the current Bucs can return. Scotty Miller?

Remember that horrible fumble that went out at the 3 yard line in Detroit. I don’t want to see Watson back there. Seems like the standard is just picking a guy who can catch the ball and that ain’t good enough this year

  25. August 1976 Buc Says:

There is speed on the roster, who can catch a Punt or KO without dropping the ball. The answer is on the roster. Also no boneheaded plays in camp causing friendly fire helps too. Go Bucs!!

  26. Joe Says:

    August:

Do you know of any other Bucs fans in the Philippines? And how do you watch the games?

  27. August 1976 Buc Says:

Hey Joe, I do not know of any Bucs fans here yet. I am sure there is more than just my wife and I. We just moved back here in January and were able to watch the Super Bowl on a local cable TV. As you know the Bucs will be on Primetime and the #1 crews of Fox and CBS, so it should not be hard to see them on Cable TV. But I am also going to see what NFL internet packages are available, so I can see all the games. BUT when living abroad, it can be a circus sometimes just to try and accomplish something that is simple in the US. Like getting good reliable internet and consistant electricity. lol lol

  28. Bradinator Says:

TJ Logan was the Special Teams Captain last year, if I’m not mistaken. His PR/KR return abilities aside he was important to the Special Teams as a leader. It’s a shame he’s hurt and wish the best on his recovery. Calais should get the call for return duties unless he has butter fingers. The job calls for someone “shifty” and fast. Cyril Grayson ought to get a look as well. Isn’t he like a 4.3 speed guy?

  29. Oneilbucs Says:

Elbuco I feel you bro I don’t understand why this fan base just doesn’t see it . I hope we win the superbowl this year because if we don’t Bruce Arians will be back . We don’t have a plan in place and next year we have 2 major colleges conferences that’s not playing this year so who is the next quarterback ?
