“Tom Brady Is Going Absolutely Insane”

May 18th, 2020

Thanks to The Sickness, this is the weirdest football offseason Joe can remember.

First, Joe never ever dreamed of how much and for how many weeks the Bucs have dominated sports chatter throughout the nation. That’s what happens when you sign a six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and trade for a future Hall of Fame tight end.

It also helped that The Sickness shut down all sports but the NFL offseason.

But with only a “virtual” offseason program since OTAs and minicamp were wiped out, all NFL players can only have Zoom conference calls and work out alone in their garages to avoid getting run out of public parks or wandering into strangers’ homes.

This is not good enough for new Bucs quarterback, park-violating, home-invading Tom Brady. He’s used to working out like a madman. And recently on “NFL Now,” seen and heard on NFL Network weekdays, Maoist Michael Silver detailed how Brady is going bonkers unable to be with his new team.

“Tom Brady is going absolutely insane at the notion that he can’t be with his new teammates and coaches to prepare,” Silver said. “You see him taking some unorthodox measures — ending up in the wrong person’s house trying to reach his offensive coordinator …

“The reason that Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are so unbelievably great — there are a lot of reasons — but the prevailing reason is the insane, maniacal preparation and drive.

“So yeah, it would have been a challenge under normal conditions, it will be a bigger challenge because of these unique conditions. But something tells me that Tom Brady will channel all of that insane energy and find a way. Don’t discount the fact that Gronk is there now and what a great comfort zone/security blanket as the Bucs try to figure it out early on.”

Now this is why some people think the Bucs got the shaft playing at New Orleans to open the season. Well, at least scheduled to open the season.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees could roll out of the rack and throw timing passes to Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara without even thinking about it.

Brady? Has he even thrown a pass in a backyard to Mike Evans and/or Chris Godwin yet?

This is why some folks believe it might take a few games for the Bucs’ offense to play with a degree of consistency.

My favorite. BA and Tom can’t put together an offense together. With a person they’ll have control by game three.

  2. MadMax Says:

And the slander continues….home invading Tom Brady….you really are full of it. Im losing all respect for you over that.

  3. SteelStudBuc Says:

    But what about JBOOBOO

  4. teacherman777 Says:

    I agree!

Super Bowl Winning, Greatest of all Time, Buccaneers Quarterback, Tom Brady!

Put some RESPECT on His name.

    Brady means “Spirited” Irish-Gaelic.

Tom Brady is an Irish Warrior King!

    Show him some RESPECT.

  5. 941bucsfan Says:

Home invading brady is correct… Its not like Joe is telling a lie.

  6. Leighroy Says:

Were opinion pieces always this dull in May before the sickness? Yawn….

  7. kmattin Says:

    Enough with the lousy name-calling.

  8. Sport Says:

There will be plenty of time for Brady and his O to gel. They will he hyper focused on it even if the offseason is shortened. If we have 8 weeks before the first game, that will be enough. Real games are irreplaceable and I would expect continued improvement throughout the first 6 games under normal circumstances. New QB, new timing, great accuracy, smart decision making.

WR’s will he hit in stride
RB’s will be thrown a leading touch pass on screens
RB’s will have better blocking (continuity, Wirfs, Gronk, Brady making line calls)

There are others, but this enough for me to jacked for this season!

    Go Bucs!

    In BA I Trust!

  9. Bucsfanman Says:

Guys! Where’s your sense of humor?!
It wouldn’t be funny if it wasn’t true! I chuckle every time I think about Tom walking in to somebody else’s house.

We’ll be alright. 20 year, multiple SB winning MVP? Yeah, I’m good with that.

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis didn’t get “crab-leg stealing, crotch grabbing”…..he got “America’s Quarterback”…….therein lies the problem…….the disparity between nicknames.

  11. Bucsfanman Says:

^^^Fair point! Jameis never deserved “America’s Quarterback.” Brady, on the other hand, is the epitome of the title.

  12. El Buco Realisto Says:

It’s a shame that the sheep and so-called fans have argued endlessly about nick-names and Jersey colors, and hardly at all about how the Bucs need to fix from being the most penalized nfl team last season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“This is the no excuses of no-excuses years”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s time to herd the sheep, and put them back in the pen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. BringBucsBack Says:

“You see him taking some unorthodox measures — ending up in the wrong person’s house trying to reach his offensive coordinator …”

Huh? A guy makes the simple mistake of confusing houses in a FL. subdivision & this is the sign of a guy who is “taking some unorthodox measures”. Would you like to know what an unorthodox measure is?….paying idiots for their ignorant & shallow opinions. That seems unorthodox to me!

  14. Oneilbucs Says:

You right Jamies is not America quarterback and that’s a good thing not to be . This country was built on murder , slavery , lies , rape and racism and racism is still a problem just look what happened in Georgia that’s what America has always been and will forever be in this country !!

  15. Hodad Says:

Tom, and his receivers will get together soon. Fla is a state that’s almost completely open. Remember, although they’re missing time together now, the NFL has always taken the whole month of July off before camps open. That won’t be the case this year. So factor in that month of July being the start of things this year, not the month where they usually go silent.

  16. PSL Bob Says:

The real test will be Week 9, when the Bucs get the Saints at home in a Sunday night matchup. The Bucs should have gelled by that point and hopefully are on a roll. My guess is the outcome of this game will foretell the Bucs chances of winning the Division and/or how far they are likely to go in the playoffs.

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Get a sense of humor, people.

  18. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Personally though, I think ‘The Immortal Tom Brady’ would sum everything up.

  19. Youngbucs Says:

  20. Youngbucs Says:

And for the record there’s nothing racist about what’s happening in Winstons career right now. Dude is not very good at his job I don’t care what you say. Or what hof QBs you wanna compare him to. Until dude can read a defense consistently do me a favor stfu. Because it’s as simple as that his decision making I don’t care what any says.

  21. Kgh4life Says:

If the Bucs want to have early success this upcoming season, the running game has to take center stage.

  22. Buc1987 Says:

TBBF…there was a time when Joe did call Jameis names….before Winston was a Buc or perhaps even after he was drafted I can’t go into the archives too deep.

“Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, former national champion Jameis Winston, the pride of Florida State University,:”- Joe

  23. Oneilbucs Says:

youngbucs you are the 🤡 because the bucs owners will keep bringing in big names for you suckas just to sale tickets . They know they don’t have to build a competitive team long term of dummies like you . And you right it is superbowl or bust you coward internet thug. We have a quarterback that’s 43 years old when the season starts who can’t move and with no running game and a bad offensive line and with a old defensive line . Go learn about Football first you coward trying to talk trash on the internet . You must be a little kid ….

  24. Oneilbucs Says:

youngbucs and I know you have to be a white guy or a Uncle Tom when you talk about rape because he had eye witnesses that said he didn’t do it . They tried to convict him 3 times and still couldn’t find no evidence of rape .

  25. Youngbucs Says:

Oneilbucs again you’re wrong with your racist undertone. I am 100 percent a black 37 year old man. Straight from the hood in New Jersey. And guess what in my opinion Winston sucks and I’m not gonna play a race card to justify that. He sucks he’s no different than all the players the nfl spits out. You perform or you get replaced!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Youngbucs Says:

It’s funny I’m a clown and you nut huggers are rooting against your own supposed team. Even wishing for injury on our team and even to Brees So the loser can get on the field 😂get a life better yet got write a book 😂😂😂

  27. Youngbucs Says:

  28. ItzOK Says:

Didn’t the NFL announce they were allowing players to come back to the team facilities? No. They did not. Some staff members, not players.–Joe
This Wuhan FLu is becoming an absolute joke. the curve has been flattened lets get back to regular life people. If you die from a car accident or the Flu or the Wuhan it sucks but life has risks. Rip off the band aid open everything. just lock down the nursing homes at 97 percent of us are going to be fine.

  30. Oneilbucs Says:

youngbucs you are a Tom because their is no evidence that he did anything wrong . But you just another guy if Jamies did touch the woman for 4 seconds and she said stop and he stop . Now tell me if you ever did the same thing ?? I know you did or less you gay .

  31. stpetebucsfan Says:

    ItzOK

If you’re going to opine on epidemics could you share your background in epidemiology. Is your degree from Fox News…or perhaps the former Trump University.

Let me guess…you’re no doctor but you have common sense. LMAO

  32. Jack Says:

Three years ago, another veteran quarterback (Ryan Fitzpatrick) new to the Bucs and their playbook with limited reps went off on the Saints first game of the new season at the Mercedes Benz Superdome to the tune of 5 touchdowns and over 400 yards passing. That was Fitz…not Brady. Yes, veterans don’t need much reps.

  33. Curdog Says:

Just a wild guess, but I suspect Brees/Saints will be ready to go for game 1. Saints receivers and pass rushers likely to have a big day.

  34. Keegs Says:

Hey Tom, why don’t you and a few of your receivers come down to Moccasin Wallow Golf Club and play a round of golf. Full social distancing is enforced. You can start building cohesiveness. Even if it is with a golf ball and not a football.
