No Real Relationship With Brady

April 3rd, 2020

Bucs GM Jason Licht.

Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht made a national radio appearance this morning. And either he was up most of the night studying tape or he hadn’t yet had any jolt of caffeine.

A very subdued (half-asleep?) Licht popped on the “Opening Drive,” with co-hosts Bob Papa and Charlie Weis heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, and didn’t really offer any new insight into his landing of future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.

The only fresh insight was, if folks are trying to connect dots with Licht’s history with the Patriots being a factor in Brady coming to Tampa Bay, it’s way overblown.

Weis asked him what his history with Brady was when Licht was the director of player personnel for the Belicheats. Licht suggested to Weis he barely knew Brady.

“I didn’t have anything near the relationship you did or any of your coaches on the offensive side,” Licht told Weis. “It was more of, you see him in the cafeteria or you see him in the weight room or you see him on the practice field and have a casual conversation here or there.”

Licht emphasized it was a “very casual” relationship with Brady.

Four things did jump out to Joe that Licht had to say:

* We all know Brady’s agent told Licht when Licht called him to begin contract negotiations that Brady’s agent said “I’m glad you called.” Licht added this morning that Brady’s agent rattled hy Brady would be a good fit with the Bucs. Meaning Brady’s agent had a laundry list of reasons why Brady should be the Bucs’ quarterback. Licht did not reveal those talking points.

* Licht noted the Bucs’ IT nerd has a system rigged for Licht and coaches to simultaneously watch a prospect break down plays via video conferencing.

* Licht admitted he’s concerned his WiFi at home might crash in the middle of this month’s draft since NFL team suits are currently barred from team headquarters thanks to the [national advertisers don’t like that word].

* Remember how Licht said on “Hard Knocks” how much Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, inspired him daily? Well, apparently that wasn’t good enough for the Bucs’ locker room. Licht discussed how much more Brady is going to motivate and raise standards in the Bucs’ locker room.

If Brady raises standards and holds teammates accountable at One Buc Palace, doesn’t that mean the team had doubts or disappointments about Brady’s predecessor’s ability to do so?

    Mr. Unemployed, Nobody’s Quarterback, Free Agent Jay-Miss WinsTOn stopped inspiring teammates in 2017.

  2. Pat Says:

    I’m quite certain that the Bucs had actual proof that Winston did not inspire his teammates. There is no longer any “doubts” or “disappointments” regarding Winston. It’s all factual at this point. He did not inspire the locker room.

  3. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

    National advertisers need to get with the program. People are searching for those words.

  4. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

    Maybe not on a Buccaneers specific blog, but a ton of searchers are typing those words into search engines.

    Assuming Brady heard it, I wonder how he liked Licht broadcasting that he (Brady) was selling himself to the Bucs when they were in talks. The best QB in history having to sell himself to the worst franchise in history?– no disrespect to Cleveland or Detroit).

  13. Joe Says:

    Assuming Brady heard it, I wonder how he liked Licht broadcasting that he (Brady) was selling himself to the Bucs when they were in talks.

    What’s he going to do, Indian squat on Derek Jeter’s patio and pout? He’s already under contract with the Bucs. It’s hardly an act of slander what Licht and Arians have revealed. If anything Brady comes across as a motivated guy who did his homework.

    Don’t think Brady wants to be remembered for his last two years of his football career the way Brent Grimes will be remembered.

    I think you took what I said a little too seriously, Joe. It was more of a joke, as you might be able to see with what I wrote at the end.

    If you are a team based in New England, let’s say, and your team has been known to cross the line now and then, wouldn’t you hire a Russian hacker for a few hundred grand to tap into various residences of NFL GM’s for the month of April?

  19. Defense Rules Says:

    I continues to amaze me how much Jameis is still on the minds & lips of so many JBFers. Can’t figure out why for the life of me. He’s yesterday’s news, and yesterday’s gone. Move on people.

    Same with you though Joe. That last paragraph was pure speculation and uncalled for IMO. I think it’s fair to say that Tom Brady is regarded by many if not most as ‘The GOAT’ and for a very good reason. Actually 6 very good reasons … called Super Bowl victories. Those weren’t ‘flukes’ by any stretch of the imagination. No losing seasons in TWENTY years of being an NFL QB. Just a guess, but I doubt that’s a ‘fluke’ either.

    To compare Jameis … or ANY QB … with someone with THOSE accomplishments in terms of inspiring teammates might be a tad over-the-top.

  20. David Says:

    No that does not mean Jameis didn’t inspire his teammates.
    JOE, you always imply one statement means a positive or negative for some one else when most the time it is just simply not true.

    I take this from it (along with other stuff I have read and that you have posted):
    1- Jameis is a great leader with a great work ethic and people love playing with him. Unfortunately, over time the turnovers started to drain the players of enthusiasm.
    2- Brady can walk into any locker room, on any team, no matter who the quarterback is there, and lift it up to an even higher level because he is the GOAT and has six rings.

  21. Mitch Says:

    Did anyone see Belichiks old scouting report, circulating today, of what it takes to build a successful offense? Cool read.

  22. 541BucsFan Says:

    I don’t know what y’all are talking about. Licht is a solid GM.

    Free Agents: Logan Mankins, JPP, Shaq, Nassib, Suh, Perriman, Humphries.

    Draft Picks: Godwin, Marpet, Kwan , White, SMB, Jamel Dean, Vea, Davis, Cappa

    He doesn’t know how to pick a RB or DE but he’s amazing at LB and WR.

  23. Destinjohnny Says:

    Well the good news is Jason is better than Mark Dominick

  24. Anonymous Says:

    Maybe Jameis will inspire player in the XFL next season well at least the opposing corners!!

  25. Cobraboy Says:

    Talking about Jameis Winston right now is about as important and meaningful as talking about Plugs Biden.

    Irrelevant.

  26. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

    Weight room? Hmmmmmm…..I thought TB didn’t lift weights. Tosses a little shade on Licht. Pun indeed.

  27. Cobraboy Says:

    BTW: I think Licht is a very solid GM, and I suspect the Glazers do, too.

    It’s the casual fan Monday Morning QB’s that whine about Licht.

  28. Cobraboy Says:

    Joe Says:

    If you are a team based in New England, let’s say, and your team has been known to cross the line now and then, wouldn’t you hire a Russian hacker for a few hundred grand to tap into various residences of NFL GM’s for the month of April?

    I would suspect the actual Draft Day location of Licht is a Top Secret with secure lines and back-ups.

  29. JimmyJack Says:

    Yes Joe the last part caught my attention too. Now both Arians and Licht have both mentioned Tom shoud bring moreover leadership…….or standards…….or culture or whatever words they use.

    Not hard to read between these lines. Winston was lacking in the leadership phase.

    I got this feeling right in my gut that if we brought Winston back both JPP and Suh sign elsewhere. Furthermore them guys leaving hurts Shaq. We might be looking at another defensive rebuild right now…….Wouldn’t do us good for the RT and RB we desperately need.

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    If Brady raises standards and holds teammates accountable at One Buc Palace, doesn’t that mean the team had doubts or disappointments about Brady’s predecessor’s ability to do so? – Joe

    Not necessarily.

    Winston was a motivator. Tom Brady is simply a better motivator…probably the best.

  31. Ndog Says:

    And the daily Jameis bashing continues for no good reason. No wonder you people don’t think Arains did anything wrong, you’re just like him.

  32. JimmyJack Says:

    Licht is approaching elite status of GMs. It’s undenyable. He won’t get there til he wins and that’ll happen this year. He traded for our defensive leader two years ago. Last year signed a Sack King. And this year signed a football God.

    If we rattle off a division title Licht is officially elite.

  33. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    No quarterback is as good as Tom Brady. Does that mean all QBs suck? Nope.

  34. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    JimmyJack Says
    “Licht is approaching elite status of GMs.”

    I agree.

    He makes mistakes, but all GMs do. He also learns from them.

  35. JimmyJack Says:

    Bonzai. Being a motivater sounds nice. But ask yourself this…..
    Did Winston’s teammates believe in him? If faith was lost in him then he really had no ability to motivate……..And I think that may have been the problem.

  36. Cobraboy Says:

    I agree with JimmyJack.

    Licht and Arians has Winston’s number, and based on the lack of recruitment, so does the entire NFL.

    Bottom line: Winston had his shot and he blew it. If he had not thrown all those ints against Houston and Atlanta and had the Bucs gone 9-7, Tom Brady would not be in Tampa.

    Winston’s last two games sealed the deal and I knew it. Had Winston been re-signed, I’d have been shocked…and not at all enthusiastic.

    I do not think resigning Jameis Winston was ever considered, and if so a few “over my dead body” comments were prolly uttered.

    BTW: IMO, Arians is “guilty” of “tampering”, because he made it clear he wanted Tom Brady well before the legal tampering period. The NFL knew it. Belichick knew it. Tom Brady and his agent knew it, which is why that call was made at 12:00pm & 10 seconds.

  37. Cobraboy Says:

    Ndog, “Look at the sheets, I be ballin'” is NOT motivation…except maybe in your world.

  38. Gofortheface30 Says:

    Cobra boy – correct. Or even better they’d have private network AND backup circuit with monitored firewalls, and the connection to the cloud server in of itself would be heavily encrypted. Licht isn’t paid to worry about that stuff anyway but I’m sure the network team at the Bucs will ensure that nothing of the sort will happen

  39. JimmyJack Says:

    Our team had a lot to proove in that Houston game. A lot to proove. And it was prime time.

    If you remember the local narritive heading in was…..Bucs was playing good but they didn’t beat anybody. That game was a real chance for them to proove their worth…….And you know what? They did. And we still freaking lost!! OJ played like a woman in that game but another player or too was awful too……And one of them is supposted to be our leader.

  40. sincethebeginning Says:

    @Bonzai I’m not sure he’s all that great at learning yet, he has drafted two kickers after all…

  41. Ndog Says:

    Just keep piling on fellas, it all comes back around always does.

  42. JimmyJack Says:

    NDog go bend yourself. We can bash any exBuc we want. Your the little creep bashing our own team. After year of bashing your own fanbase…….It’s funny after your years of crusades it turns out that you are the true hater. Phony.

  43. JimmyJack Says:

    And the true joke of it all is we aren’t even bashing. We are giving a real objection opinion. You can’t find one example of bashing on this whole page you little liar.

    No you are the one bashing………Like you always done to fair fans with critical opinions. Your a phony your a fake your a hypocrite and you are aliar…..above all you are a petty little man. Enjoy your journey I to troll hood.

  44. JGhotier Says:

    To answer your question at the end of the post…

    No it doesn’t speak doubts or disappointment re: Winston’s ability to do so, but does infer (and we are all well aware) how much better Brady is in that respect compared to that of Winston.

    Brady is one of the best ever in that regards. We all know about his playing ability, greatness and G.O.A.T status, but what’s telling and corresponds w/ my statement is that everyone has praised (some going out of their way to do so) Brady’s ability to “make those around him better”. To raise the level of expectation and example that’s very rare, compared to that of Tampa Tom. It might be his biggest strength at this point in his career.

    Stay safe and don’t let the Corona Blues get ya down.

    Cheers all 🙂

    Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston:

    IS STILL UNEMPLOYED!!!!!

    I wonder if there’s a causal link Joe????

    Couldn’t be the turnovers, could it???

    No that’s the coaches, WR’s, RB’s, OL, DL, K, and wind.

    Maybe the sexual assault???

    No, that’s racist.

    These teams must not want to win multiple titles!!!

    #WinstonSucks

  46. JimmyJack Says:

    JGhotier……I agree it does not say that much about Winston. But we should also factor in the Arians quote……..excuse me cause it’s off memory but I believe Bruce said……Tom will bring ” the leadership this team needs”………..He said something very similar to that. His quote was much more blunt and does more closely reveal that Winston did lack more then many thought in the leadership Dept. That coupled with what Licht said and a lot lot more looks like Winston may have very well been oversold to us fans as a big time leader here.

  47. Adrnagy Says:

    Ah the bandwagoneers are out! You guys have been drinking a lot of toilet water.
    Licht is horrible. Improvement yes. But making one or two moves don’t make him elite.
    Jameis has leadership. He lead Florida to a championship, motivator yes.
    He’s young for nfl leadership. Specially when you have a rookie qb in a horrible team. (Tannehill Dolphins , Mariota Titans) are some examples.

    Brady is 43 and he’s a accomplished player of course he’s going to command respect . Just not from me. He needs to earn it in a bucs uniform. Heck I don’t care if trump or a donkey walk in front of me. Earn respect.

  48. Ndog Says:

    Just keep on JimmyJack just keep it up cause everyone that knows anything knows your full of it. You are literally hanging on the words of the same guys that said the exact same things they said about Winston. So your fair opinion is nothing more than a waste of time cause you simply buy into whatever they tell you which makes you a lemming. Which I totally get cause in order to think for yourself you would actually have to have a brain, and we know thats not the case so that puts that to bed.

  49. Adrnagy Says:

    Brady’s leadership = Bill Belichick
    Brady’s success= Bill Belichick

    Tom Brady 2019 QB ranked #14

    Not necessarily.

    Winston was a motivator. Tom Brady is simply a better motivator…probably the best.

    BB, you are correct Jameis is a good motivational player, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good leader, Cheerleaders are good at motivating but would you want them to coach? Motivating and leading are different traits. While a great leader will inspire and motivate, a great motivater will only motivate.

  52. JGhotier Says:

    JimmyJack

    That’s a good point!

    I think it’s not a spite of Jameis, just that Jameis was only adequate or average in that regards. Which isn’t a negative or lacking, just average…better than bad, but not good or great. I think it speaks more directly to Brady being GREAT in that capacity. One of the best ever. He raises the bar and performance of every single player on that team.

    Comparing Winston to the G.O.A.T is usually going to be foolish and a silly comparison to make.

    p.s. I think your BA quote was almost dead on (at least from what I recall). That was definitely the sentiment though.

  53. Adrnagy Says:

    The QB brings the leadership…lol

    It’s the HC who sets the tone for the entire team. Attitude. Standards. Everything!

    Look at Bill Belichick. He let GO of Brady and his team is still solid. Nothing gone missing in New England.

    Look at last year mike tomlin team.

    Look at Pete Carroll’s team. Lost all defense , players etc. and still a solid team.

  54. Bucsfan77 Says:

    He lead Florida to a championship, motivator yes.
    He didn’t lead them, wouldn’t of mattered who was QB with I think it was 14 5 star recruits that year. I am not a Jameis hater, I’ve rooted for him every year he’s been in NFL, but I am also not a nuthugger, imo the problem with Winston is he locks on to his decided target when play is relayed in and he locks on that one target waiting for perfect timing for throw instead of going through progression and coming back to initial target. 2.57 seconds that he gave the defense time to reconize his target and start breaking on it before WI stone even throws

  55. Adrnagy Says:

    And then look at last year Jason Garrett Dallas Cowboys

  56. Ndog Says:

    Everyone just please remember take anything Arains says with a grain of salt cause he a proven liar.

    Just a few of the best come to mind:

    “The secondary is fixed”.
    “I took the penalty on purpose to make the kick easier”

  57. Ndog Says:

    Bucsfan77 yes he threw for 5,000 yards and 33 TDs by locking onto his target from the snap. Makes perfect sense.

  58. Adrnagy Says:

    Well …
    Bruce is not a leader.

    Koetter not a leader.
    Schiano a disciplinarian
    Raheem Morris good cheerleader
    Lovie Players coach.
    Jon Gruden a leader.

  59. Adrnagy Says:

    Joe throw something about Leftwich / Brady soon to be offense

  62. Defense Rules Says:

    @JimmyJack … “Licht is approaching elite status of GMs. It’s undenyable. Elite status? Aw come on JimmyJack, don’t start drinking the Kool-Aid just yet.

    Licht was a puppet under Lovie Smith, and he let Lovie run roughshod over this roster. That screwed us up for years.

    With Koetter as his HC, Licht became more of a REAL GM, but barely. Our TEAM-BUILDING sucked, and we were the perennial cellar-dwellers in the NFC South.

    How much of last year’s roster makeover was JL’s doing we’ll never know. But if one looks at past performance to predict future performance they’d come to the conclusion that it was Arians & Bowles who finally got us on the right track. Example: Does anyone really think that Shaq or Suh would be here if not for Todd Bowles & his brand of defense? And BA & TB had to remake the Secondary with 4 Rnd 1-3 draft picks just to be competitive on defense (thankfully Todd Bowles knows how to develop corners & safeties).

    Reality to me is that Jason has ‘grown’ in the job, but he wouldn’t even be here right now if Arians hadn’t come onboard. That’s NOT my definition of ‘elite’ JimmyJack. He’s doing ‘better’, but it’s not that hard to speculate who’s calling the shots.

  63. Adrnagy Says:

    Morgue , it’s ok .

    Whatever tickles your pickle.

    Yours might be Bruce.

  64. Ndog Says:

    It’s funny Morgus my payment for my tickets go to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers not to Jameis Winston. You know nothing about me accept I believe the best fit for this team is Jameis Winston at QB. That does not mean I am not first and foremost a fan of the team but I can have my opinion based upon my knowledge of the game and position. My excitement level is of course tied to my belief in what they are doing, so I will have to see a Super Bowl win in order to be satisfied with this decision. To me this is a short term money grab and nothing more and I believe the coach is a list and backstabber.

  65. Bucsfan951 Says:

Nor do I think that eating ones fingers on National TV very motivational. I think that pro Winston or con Winston we have turned the page and have, in my opinion, the best QB there ever was leading the Bucs in 2020. Hopefully we will all have a lot to cheer about this coming season, if we have one of course.

    Other then that I got a few others I listen to. Joe being one of em. And probably my most used source. So what? Are you gonna tell me Joe is an anti Winston? I’m just buying into his words to formulate my opinion? That’s just foolish. Most readers know Joe is/was one of Winston’s biggest supporters.

    Most my other Bucs source comes from podcasts……in which I choose to listen to only true Buc fans. Diehards that create them……..Loose Cannon, pewtercast and Buccaneer Observer to be specific…….So you gonna claim them sources tainted my brain and opinion?……Yeah. that makes you a dope.

    Ndog

    If you’re expecting a Sb win this yr or it is a bust, you must assume if jw was resigned, he would be winning the sb this yr, correct?

    If another team signs jw and they do not win the sb, is it that gm’s fault?

    Your answer: 951 the difference is Jameis has 10-15 years still to win a chip Brady has two max.

    AGAIN, I HAVE TO GO BACK TO MY ORIGINAL QUESTION SINCE IT WAS NOT ANSWERED.

  93. Adrnagy Says:

    Florida state & Florida are the same. Lol. In Florida.

    Adrnagy Says:
    “Ah the bandwagoneers are out! You guys have been drinking a lot of toilet water.
    Jameis has leadership. He lead Florida to a championship”

    ~~~~~
    It’s a good idea, Adrnagy, before you ridicule & name-call, to have your facts straight. Jameis was not a GATOR. He was a SEMINOLE.
  94. Ndog Says:
    Like always JimmyJack you don’t read. Yes the words of Licht and Arains but the point is those same guys are contradicting what they are saying cause they themselves said just last year what a great leader Jameis is. So are they lying now or where lying then, either way they are lying, according to you who is interpreting them as saying Jameis is not a great leader. So again you have nothing to stand on but that’s nothing new cause your wrong 90% of time, I’m sure you’re used to it by now.
  95. JimmyJack Says:
    Anybody saying SuperBowl or bust this year is openly admitting singing Tom was an ackomplishment……….Bucs fans haven’t been able to say Super Bowl or bust in 2 freaking decades….,…….And with Winston the sheer thought of a Super Bowl was absolutely laughable.
  96. JimmyJack Says:
    Ok NDog…….So they was lying. Nothing new in NFL circles. So which was the lie? I say Winston being a great leader(which I doubt Bruce ever said) was the lie. And it’s why he aren’t here.
    And I say it’s a big reason why Winston ain’t found a job. And also there the fact that Winston has shown little to nothing to proove he is a good leader.
  97. Ndog Says:
    951 since you are to stupid to understand the answer I will spell it out for you AGAIN? No it would not be Super Bowl or bust if Jameis was the QB, but I would expect playoffs and probably at least one win. Then from there build to winning a chip, hopefully more than one over the next 10-15 years. The reason why is cause that is how it is done. Very, very rarely is football instant rice where you pop it in and you win a Super Bowl ASAP, BUT when you bring in a 43 year old QB you better win cause you only got a year maybe two to win it.
    Now does that very clear answer help your tiny little brain?
  98. Ndog Says:
    JimmyJack let’s be very clear here winning the Superbowl is the only acceptable outcome yet no one expects it and that is why this move will be looked at in history as a idiotic move
  99. JimmyJack Says:
    So you can say he was a great leader. I can say he wasn’t. No proof either way. Only reading tea leafs and looking for on field examples..,……And let’s just skip the examples K…..We both know Winston has almost exclusively poor ones that are well documented.,……and Dare I say factual.
  100. JimmyJack Says:
    No numbnuts……winning the Superbowl is not the only acceptable outcome…….not for 2020…….the reason why is the ole time saying…….learn to walk before you dance.
    You want insta SuperBowls go play Tevmo……..Sure they happen…..and may we be so blessed. Otherwise a step in the right direction is success for this tortured franchise. That being playoffs…….or dare I say playoff win.
  101. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    Adrnagy Says:
    “Florida state & Florida are the same. Lol. In Florida.”
    ~~~~~~~~

    Uh, NO they most certainly are not, to those fans, LOL.
    That’s like Alabama & Auburn. — They are in the same state, too.

  102. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    JimmyJack Says:
    “winning the Superbowl is NOT the only acceptable outcome…….not for 2020”

    ~~~~~~~
    NO DOUBT… man, I don’t understand that statement. We haven’t sniffed the frikking playoffs in 11 years!!!!! — Can we enjoy a winning season & playoffs first?.. and take it from there?
  103. Bucsfan951 Says:
    Ndog
    *too stupid. If you’re gonna talk ish, you might want to come correct.
    Why the name calling? Yes, your second response made more sense. Your first response, not so much.
    Bro, you need a huge or something. You’re seriously cracking in front of us all. It’s actually quite disturbing.
    Seriously, I’m concerned. 1-800-273-8255. I’m gonna just leave that there for you. Stay safe, my friend!
  104. JimmyJack Says:
    Demon….Don’t get me wrong. I’m all in favor of a cinderalla title in 2020. But if not I’ll blgrin and bear it…..I don’t got a problem doing it the hard way. Shame others just want the easy way out.
  105. Ndog Says:
    Winning the Superbowl is the only acceptable outcome and anything else is a unmitigated FAILURE.
  106. JimmyJack Says:
    To be fair to NDog….I think I did the nametelling first. But in my own defense I believe he deserves it.
  107. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    JimmyJack Says:
    “You want insta SuperBowls go play Tecmo……”
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    Ahhhhh, you are playing my song now, man.
    Those are some fun frikking memories there.
    The ‘ole TECMO days.

  108. JimmyJack Says:

    So we have nothing but unmittigated FAILURE with Winston at the helm…….Enter Tom and then ole numbnuts is talking SuperBowls. We freaking literally changed one singular position and you are talking SuperBowl?

    You basically have chopped off your own legs on this on bro…..Please flop back into the water like the dead fish you are right now. Swim away all wounded-like. Don’t worry we let ya.

  109. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    JimmyJack Says:
    “Demon….Don’t get me wrong. I’m all in favor of a cinderalla title in 2020.”

    ~~~~~~~~
    Oh HELL YES, my friend.
    You never know… Vegas has us tied for 6th best odds.
    You NEVER know.
    But yea, 10 or 11 wins and a playoff win, would be frikking great right now,
    and take it from there!
  110. JimmyJack Says:
    ***Excuse Me”***
    Tecmo Super Bowl!!
    Bro you have to be kidding me, you are literally praising the Bucs for taking the easy way out. Getting a guy that has ALREADY won 6 Superbowls is the easiest way out possible.
  112. Bird Says:
    Giys ….Why do you guys even give Ndog the time of day
    I mean What a dang baby
    He is literally crying on the computer keys right now as he is typing
    He claims facts yet they were all wrong and jameis is gone
    Bucboi pulled up comment after comment from last year that was laughable
    I mean to say this :
    “Winning the Superbowl is the only acceptable outcome and anything else is a unmitigated FAILURE”
    He also said the other day :
    “That for the first time he is not proud/happy to call himself a buc fan “
    ——-
    Ladies and gentleman i give you the fully grown baby Ndog
    Thre N stands for never right
    The dog is short for go Noles
  113. Bucsfan951 Says:
    Ndog
    “ but I would expect playoffs and probably at least one win.”
    But aren’t you the one who puts down the defense, running game, and kicking? So now they’re good enough to win a playoff game?
    Help me understand where your head is at…
  114. Ndog Says:
    Yeah the difference is now we will actually have a defense and will more than likely shore up both the oline and running backs spots. So Jameis had to deal with the complete rebuild while Brady gets to walk into the best team we have in 14 years. Yeah really fair comparison, smh.
  115. JimmyJack Says:
    Yes NDog…..Now that we have Tom everything will be easy. That’s what I believe because you told me so. You are right!!?
  116. Bird Says:
    Great point
    Yah super bowls won the “easiest way out “ really suck
    😂
  117. JimmyJack Says:
    We have been rebuilding for every year Winston has been here. JPP and Suh likely weren’t coming back if Winston was still here.
    Next year Tom will be running the same team Winston had…….. let me repeat that……Next year Tom will be running the same team that Winston had.
    So who are you gonna credit a turnaround to? Change at QB? Or our new rookies? Or is it Hard? It’s the same freaking team numbnuts!!
    GO BUCS BABY!!!!
  118. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    Normally, T.m.a.x. would rake me over the coals for saying that I would be happy right now with 10 or 11 wins, and a playoff win.
    WHERE ARE YOU, T.m.a.x.?
    Are you ok?
    In these times, it’s a little unsetting when someone disappears for awhile.
  119. JimmyJack Says:
    Haeg**
  120. JimmyJack Says:
    The easy way to bSuperBowls!!!!!!! I can’t stop laughing.
  121. Bucsfan951 Says:
    1. Well actually have a defense? What has the Bucs done to improve their defense since the season ended?
    2. Shore up both lines? Again, who have they added in addition to last year?
    3. So last year and previous was a rebuild yr but this yr is not?
    Again NDOG, I ask you, so now they’re good enough to win a playoff game? What the difference from last years o and d line compared to this years? How about running backs? What about kicking?
    And don’t tell me the draft.
  122. Tampa Bay Demon Says:
    Ndog Says:
    “Getting a guy that has ALREADY won 6 Superbowls is the easiest way out possible.”
    ~~~~~~~

    Maybe so, if Brady actually did something unthinkable like taking the Lions or the Jets over the top. But there IS a reason that he wanted to come here, Ndog. There is some serious talent here than can help HIM reach that goal again too.

  123. Ndog Says:

    951 yes the defense sucked the first 10 games last year but clearly were getting better. You can say whatever you want and you think you are tricking people but simply put you’re not fooling anyone. The first 10 games last year we didn’t have JPP and our corners had zero experience plus Hargreaves sorry a$$. By the time the defense got it’s crap together we went 5-1 then we lost Evans, Godwin, Miller, and Jameis broke his freaking thumb and WE went to crap the last two games. So it is very responsible to believe with the team back together in full and some improvement in the draft we would improve and grow together as a football team to reach the playoffs. But this organization screwed it up for the almighty dollar now if we don’t win it all in two years all the building, all the pain will be worth nothing cause they could not see it threw till the end. Which is exactly what poor organizations do.

  124. DBS Says:

    You have to remember. T.m.a.x. wanted to Free Winston. He got his wish. He is happy. The rest said if they were Winston they would not want to come back. Or they think he should leave this team. Well he is gone. Now they are pissed.

  125. Youngbucs Says:

    DBS exactly

  126. JimmyJack Says:

    Oh NDog you get me a break.

    Now you listen hard and you listen now……..Yeah did Hergreaves suck? Absolutely.

    Did we have injuries? Absolutely.

    And guess what muchambo? Those things happen to every team every freaking year. It’s not exclusive to the 2019 Bucs!!! It a freaking excuse. Every team has a few players that suck. Every team deal with injuries.

    The 2020 Bucs will be no different. But let’s e it to a hypocrite like you to find some two faced narritive to peddle.

    Why don’t you watch this team win next year and weep? Squirm and find a new narritive to peddle. It’ll be fun. Dang your dense.

  127. Bucsfan951 Says:

    Opponents defense rankings:

    1. Cards 28th
    2. ATL: 23rd
    3. Jags: 21st
    4. Colts: 18th
    5. Lions: 26th

    You mean the 5 wins in that 5-1 against those defenses? Jw not going up against big time defenses within that time. Well the 1 loss with the saints when they have the 13th ranked defense.

    Actually, what made those games wins was Winston didn’t have many turnovers which turned into points. Only 27 points scored by the opponents in those 5 wins. THAT WAS THE KEY TO THE 5-1 GAMES. LESS TURNOVERS AGAINST SUBPAR DEFENSES!!!

    So NDOG, with those 27 points in those 5 games, that only leaves 94 points scored off of jw turnovers in the remaining 11 games. That’s only 8.5 points per game for the remaining games…

  128. JimmyJack Says:

    Whoah is me about Winston!!!! My dumbass stood here on these boards telling everybody the Bucs would prove them wrong against the Texans. The team played great and Winston choked. Made me look like a fool.

    And to double up on ity dumbass went to that last game and suffered with the fool gagging up the ball in OT…..and I didn’t even saw the TD. My back was already turned heading to the corridor.

    The dude freaking gagged under pressure. We weren’t winning squat with him and fools like me that thought he could got smacked right on the mouth…………And your clown ass is still gonna peddle excuses down my throat.

    At this point I am freaking glad Winston is gone. St Pete was right. You nugglers are gonna make us hate him on the way out. Thanks numbnuts.

  129. Ivan The Insider Says:

    N-Clown,

    I noticed how you refused to debate my points about how Fitz was on pace for 4,900+ yards and 34 TDs/24INTs in the SAME Offense that Winston played in for 2019.

    CRICKETS.

    You have no response to how that proves Winston is nothing special.

    “Winning the Super Bowl is the only acceptable outcome” – Ndog quote

    LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

    Oh man… really?? …. really?

    Holy crap. For the love of God, have your mom wash your Jameis Winston doll more often because you must carry that thing around so much it has been super germy.

  130. Ivan The Insider Says:

    NEWSFLASH:

    The JBF poster known as “Ndog” and likes to call people he can’t win a football debate with “Clueless” has actually made these statements…

    – “Mike Evans is pure trash. Completely overrated.”

    – “Opposing Defenses were disguising their coverages against Jameis, unlike other QBs, and that’s why he threw so many INTs.”

    – “If the Bucs don’t win the Super Bowl now it will have been a complete disaster to let Winston walk.”

    YES, FOLKS… These are actual statements coming from a guy that claims everyone else is “clueless” about football.

    You can’t make this stuff up.

  131. Ivan The Insider Says:

    Ndog,

    The Tampa Bay Buccaneers *ARE* seeing their plans of multiple years through to the end… it’s just not with an inconsistent QB. The rest of the team is the same.

    Why can’t you give the rest of the TEAM credit outside of Jameis? How do you think your QB was able to throw for over 5,000+ if the OL didn’t do a good job of protecting him? And the WRs doing a decent job of getting open and making catches?

    AND I ASK AGAIN… for 457,819TH TIME…

    If Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to setup in and put up HUGE NUMBERS (multiple games for 4+ TDs, multiple games over 400+ yards passes, multiple games with 100+ QBR)… then why isn’t that some sort of indicator that many other QBs could setup into this STACKED Offense and also put up big numbers? AND… maybe… just maybe… turn the ball over less.

    What’s with your obsession with thinking Jameis Winston is THE ONLY QB that can have success with our TWO Pro Bowl WRs and one of the most expensive O-Lines in the NFL?

    It’s truly baffling to me.

  132. Ndog Says:

    What would you guys do without me? You wouldn’t have anyone to teach you about the sport called football.

    And yes Ivan by you posting those things yet again shows you are a liar. Seriously how do you live with yourself. You get on a blog and lie about people, what kind of loser are you?

  133. Bucsfan951 Says:

    Ivan

    Don’t forget to add how he says this years bucs are good enough to win a playoff game when it’s the same exact team as last yr’s team. The same defense he blames for everything. Or also the run game or kicking that is playoff quality now.

    Funny how it’s the same team from last season.

  134. Ndog Says:

    See there is no point in talking to you guys cause you don’t read or you simply are to ignorant. You are going to believe want you believe I am going to believe what I want so it is what it is.

    Peace out this is a waste of all of our times, but especially mine since you are all CLUELESS!!!!

  135. JimmyJack Says:

    NDog Winston led a team against Houston that was good enough to beat them. You can’t take that away.

    We did have the better team that day. And we didn’t have the leader the make it stick.

    No matter how hard you try you can never erase that from his resume.

  136. DBS Says:

    Well he’s leaving again.

  137. JimmyJack Says:

    And in the NFL it all comes down to one freaking game. This aren’t the 1897 World Series. You don’t get nine game. In the NFL you get one.

  138. JimmyJack Says:

    Good NDog……Get out of my face. You disgust me.

  139. JimmyJack Says:

    Hey on a good note y’all…..My Tom poster and tee shirt just arrived.!!! Still waiting on my socks of little To.m faces but save the best for last I say!!!! Tooooo-oooo-ooooom.

  140. Bird Says:

    Bye Ndog

    No-one literally cares like you think
    And to call someone else a liar and a loser is cracking me up
    😂

    Thanks for the laughs on a Friday
    Its about time for a drink !

  141. Adrnagy Says:

    Vomit in your face. The original two face fan.

  142. Soggy Says:

    Ndog get over yourself, man you suck.. If someone does not have the same thoughts as you then you call them names, and most the time you are talking bucs future, like you know better than everyone, I read your post and your predictions are mostly wrong so do everybody a favor and get off our backs.

  143. SteveK Says:

    Winston Apologists,

    Jameis is a free agent. Where is he signing?

    Do Cam Newton and Joe Flacco get jobs first?

    We upgraded at QB and Jameis’ inconsistent play sealed his fate.

  144. Tampabuscsbro Says:

    Man these Winston defenders are really something.

    The hell do FSU fans do to make them this radical? I just don’t get it. We made a mistake by parting ways with the turnover prone QB that has had an off the field disaster the year before last and on the field disasters happen this year almost every game.

    Then again to them Turnovers don’t matter/Winston is the unluckiest QB to ever play the game of football so it’s not his fault.

    Also what did happen to the one dude whose name starts with a T and ends in X? since we got brady the dude seems to be radio silent. He probably got his wish and is done with the bucs. good for him.

  145. Bucsfan951 Says:

    Baby girl with the “I’m taking my ball and going home” attitude.

    She’ll be back… she always does!

  146. Adrnagy Says:

    “I love Jameis Winston, I loved every minute working with Jameis Winston, I really believe he’s going to get the right chance at the right place,” Christensen said. “Maybe like Ryan Tannehill where it takes backing up, who knows what the scenario will be, but he will rise to the top. I think he’s a starting, upper-echelon quarterback in this NFL and I do think he’s going to get these interceptions under control a little bit.

    “In some ways I feel like I failed him a little bit, as a coach you take that personal. I didn’t get it done, I didn’t help this kid. This kid’s better than 30 interceptions and we didn’t get that done and that I’ll have to live with.”

  147. Adrnagy Says:

    There’s still ppl in earth with integrity unlike two face fans and two face Bruce.
    And I mean it. How come ppl still trash a man when is down ? Bcuz there garbage. But once you rooted for him.
    It’s how you moved on what is makes you a two face.

  148. Ivan The Insider Says:

    Notice how Ndog STILL won’t answer my question about Fitzpatrick nor will give any credit to the rest of the team?

    What a total CLOWN.

    And Ndog, I wasn’t lying about what you said. You DID state that Mike Evans was an overrated WR. And it wasn’t just how he was playing in that one game.

    You also made of the dumbest statements in the history of this site about defenses disguising their coverages and how that was supposedly a big reason Winston threw many INTs; implying that didn’t disguise coverages for other QBs like do for everyone. One of the DUMBEST statements ever to try and excuse Winston’s INTs.

    And, of course, my other statement you made was 100% true as well as can be seen in this very thread and others… you claim that if we don’t win a Super Bowl within 2 years we destroyed the entire team’s future… all because we let Winston walk.

    You’re a real piece of work. You can state “you’re clueless!” to other people all you want, but without any FACTS & DATA to back up any of your claims then you’re WORTHLESS.

  149. Ivan The Insider Says:

    ADRNAGY,

    We’ve moved on because Jameis Winston is no longer on OUR TEAM that we support.

    He was a very controversial player (on and off the field) and he was so frustrating to watch play for 5 years. Many us are VERY HAPPY we decided to try something else.

    We have two Pro Bowl WRs, arguable the best duo in the NFL. A very similar Offense (with some players changed) that a Ryan Fitzpatrick put up some MONSTER NUMBERS with.

    We believe someone else deserves a chance to leverage the talent that we have on this team, and that someone else is going to be Tom Brady. He’s certainly moving towards the end of his career because of his age, but let’s see what he can do.

    WHY do you take the Jameis Winston situation SO PERSONAL??? Who cares what some coach said or didn’t say about him. He’s now a FREE AGENT and can sign anywhere in the league where someone will sign him.

    The 31 other NFL teams can all watch 5 YEARS of tape on Jameis and make the decision whether he’s worth signing or not.

    No one has signed him yet and see that value in him. Why aren’t you upset AT THE NFL instead of just at Arians or the Bucs front office/ownership?

  150. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Ndog is “bawlin.”
    Jameis be “bawlin.”
    Why hasn’t Jameis been signed? Will the other shoe drop, meaning yet another transgression?
    If not, #32generalmanagerscan’tbewrong
    Dude has had 5 full years to prove himself. He has no pocket presence, hence all the fumbles. He has no ability to read a defense and he thinks he can throw into any tight window, hence the interceptions.
    He is a turnover machine and will be somebody else’s problem holding the clipboard and wearing the visor.
    But, Ndog continues to think we are all CLUELESS.

  151. Adrnagy Says:

    Ivan, keep believing in your stuff. And let me Others believe.
    Nfl will cancel this season. So let’s see your grandpa next year. Also , you should start believing in a long term plan.

    After all … it’s a free country.

  152. SufferingSince76 Says:

    It is very easy to determine who are true Bucs fans on this site and those who are not. True Bucs fans are optimistic and exchange thoughts and ideas about what the various moves by management may mean. The others are arrogant and reek of negativity because no one else will believe they are the smartest people in the room. Tmaxcon is the only one with any integrity and that’s why he no longer posts. The others are trolls and should be ignored.

  153. D1 Says:

    Ivan,

    Why so personal?

    It cant be because of winston. He simply hasn’t earned that level of loyalty. But it’s been gifted upon him and he , imo, rarely if ever rewards his loyalists.

    Just think of all the sh@t burgers these folks have eaten over the years. Eating their own words over and over again doesn’t seem to faze them in the least. It’s like these folks have a complete and utter contempt for their own words.

    If this was a relationship, the answer would be “lack of self respect”.
    Maybe it is not a bad idea to view it thru that lense. Otherwise
    I’d say its a character issue.

  154. SufferingSince76 Says:

    My bad.

  155. Sydney Says:

    There’s not going to be a 2020 season, people. Isn’t that obvious by now? Do the math. Think about it.
