New Uniforms Unveiled Next Week

April 1st, 2020

They are gone.

They are coming.

Either people will rejoice or people will be peeved. In the same offseason where the Bucs waved goodbye to their best quarterback in franchise history, the Bucs are also ditching (thankfully) the same awful alarm clock-font uniforms uniforms Jameis Winston was stuck with during all his Bucs days.

And the Bucs announced yesterday that the new uniforms will debut next Tuesday, April 7.

If the new uniforms look remotely like the uniforms Paul Lukas of UniWatch.com got a peek of recently, Joe hopes Bucs fans will be happy. The artist renderings based on Lukas’ description indicate the Bucs are returning to something like the classics worn during their glory years.

There was no good reason to ever change those uniforms in the first place.

Last night Lukas also Twittered that although he has not seen the third alternate jersey the Bucs also plan to unveil next week, he was led to believe it’s a solid pewter getup.

    Yeah, color rush pewter uniforms would be cool. Based on the renderings released after Lukas saw them and described them they were quite underwhelming imo. The white ones especially just look like the Falcons uniforms. Was honestly excited after the video that big changes were being made and maybe some orange was going to be incorporated into a cool new design. Instead it looks like just pewter and red. At least it looks like they will be using the charcoal pewter and not that god awful, rust/brown pewter from back in the day. Not sure why all the drama though when they are just going back to the former uniforms. They should have just announced they were going back rather than making a big deal like this. I think it made us fans feel like something new and fresh was coming.

  4. Pa fan Says:

    Not what he said. I do think many on here will be eating crow. Winston will succeed elsewhere and sjove it back at usm we chose a 43 yr old qb at end of his career and dropper a guy not even in his prime yet. This is why Tampa will NEVER be able to sustain success other than for small periods of time. I mean Young..Dilfer..Williams..all let go to kick ass elsewhere.

    Im telling ya Tampa fans history always repeats itself and this my friends is no different. Enjoy these 2 years. Cause the next 10 after them is gonna look similar to what we just witnessed the past decade and a half!

  5. Tbbucs3 Says:

    I don’t get the universal praise for the creamsickles. It’s the only thing people who aren’t Bucs fans know or like about the Bucs.

  6. ou812 Says:

    The Bucs waved goodbye to their best quarterback in franchise history???

    Why? What happened to Tom Brady ??? Clearly the best QB in Bucs history!!!

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    How about a mask……Buc logo….colors?………would sell quite well….

    And, how does a new uniform have anything to do with JW?……I guess we are going to see him worked into most every article…..

  8. MadMax Says:

    ^ april fools, jokes on yuze….

  9. ItzOK Says:

    I hope the new uniforms have the current bright red color. When you compare today’s uniforms against the SB uniforms the red is much nicer. I personally don’t like the dark metallic uniforms that were trending in the 90’s. They look very dated to me and i cant stand the eagles dark green, the chargers went dark and all of them need to revert back to the brighter colors. Thank god the Chargers went back to powder blue. If they mix the red with classic SB era uniforms I ill be happy. They also need to stop with all the color black or any border around the numbers just keep it simple and white, it really is so much cleaner a look. Never ever should they wear the original creaminess. They are horrendous and if our current team wears them they will all contract the Kung-flu and our season will be lost.

  10. BradyBucs Says:

    The uniforms were stuck with Jameis Winston all during their Buc days.

  11. BrianBucs Says:

    Can’t wait to see!
    Hopefully just a modern tweeked version of the Superbowl ones.
    When they go on sale, watch how fast the #12 Brady jersey sells out

  12. Anonymous Says:

    Buncha Fashionistas in here. Who cares what they wear. Just win.

  13. diggler Says:

    Looks like Atlanta. Gonna be a huge miss.

  14. JP09 Says:

    There should be 3 uniforms, Godwin, David & White all got a chance to see them and they were asked which one was their favorite 1,2 or 3. If they look like the Lukas mock ups I like them. I’m excited to see the all pewter’s too, hopefully they went went red numbers and name tapes on them

  15. rrsrq Says:

    So JW leaves, Bucs get new unis, likely a new RT, a new shiny RB and a defense that that plays together for a second year under the same coaching staff, mmmm. Last winning record was a consistent running game. Don’t get me wrong, let’s go with the GOAT, but all things being equal, there will always be that what if…

  16. D-Rome Says:

    This is, by far, the most overrated story of the Bucs off season. No one would care one bit about the uniforms if the Bucs were winners.

  17. Pelsbuc61 Says:

    New unís, new QB. New day in TB!

  18. SteelStudBuc Says:

    I’m excited… I boycotted the alarm clock number jerseys, refused to buy any… looking forward to next week’s unveiling

  19. '79 Defense Says:

    D-Rome

    I totally disagree. They were blasted by nearly everyone before they ever played a game in them.

    The reaction of the current ones when they were introduced would not have not been how great they were even if they had won the SB the year before. They still would have been ridiculed.

    AGREED 100%
    And in 2021, throwbacks with the creamsicles for 2 or 3 games.

    ~~~~~~
    Nah, we still would, lol.
    When we next win a Super Bowl, I want to look like we did in 2002, not like we do now.
  22. Joe Says:
    What happened to Tom Brady ???
    Joe hasn’t seen him play a snap in a Bucs uniform yet, old or new.
  23. Joe Says:
    This is, by far, the most overrated story of the Bucs off season. No one would care one bit about the uniforms if the Bucs were winners.
    Sure they would. People would just hate them a bit less.
  24. DanBucsFan Says:
    Sign Winston to be the backup. That would be interesting. I know its not gonna happen, but why not? If he is not getting interest from anyone else then it sounds like a perfect fit. He watches Tb12 for a couple years and is a better than average #2 Qb in this league by far, if our 43 yr old starting Qb gets hurt then Winston can get his chance to show out. several reasons that this would make sense, but im sure $ would be a major issue.
  25. gofortheface30 Says:
    Oh you can bet that people will complain. Thats just what they do. If the atrist’s renderings are correct – then they are beautiful, and a modernized/cleaned up look from super bowl era uniforms which everyone loved, but theres going to be a lot of people in here that will need to pop about 20mg of cialis for their poor little wet noodles
    ~~~~~

    No doubt. Hope that is the case, and they are gonna be gorgeous.
    Can’t wait to wear that style BUCS jersey again!

  27. TheBradyBunch Says:

    The unis were already leaked by Lukas. The white unis are beyond bland. In the video with White, David and Godwin I honestly got the sense they they too were underwhelmed and had to fake excitement.

  28. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    ^^ Disagree, TheBradyBunch. — The white ones are actually clean & gorgeous. I can’t stand the white ones we have had with this last uniform.

  29. Bruce Blahak Says:

    too close to Falcons…Orange originals were unique and flashy. I don’t get the connection to losing. The accomplishment of the 1979 team was a remarkable turnaround. 10 points from the Super Bowl without Williams and L.Selmon in the 2nd half….playoffs 3 times in 4 years…Winners!

  30. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Who knows what the final product will be, other than 54 45 14…

    What was leaked isn’t necessarily the final product. Just sayin

  31. Cobraboy Says:

    Am I alone is despising those gawd-awful “color rush” abortions? All pewter “color rush?” Yuck…bland and boring.

    I suspect my creamsicle dream will be smashed on the rocks.

    But if they go back to the original pewter and red, I’d be totally OK. Just get rid of the alarm clocks and shoulder color.

  32. D-Rome Says:

    ’79 Defense,

    The reason why I feel that way is because when the Rays new uniforms were unveiled before the 2008 season they were ridiculed by most. The Manta Ray logo was replaced by a Ray of Sunshine or sunburst. Whatever you want to call it. Well, that all went out the window as soon as the Rays started dominating the AL East, won it, and went to the World Series.

  33. PSL Bob Says:

    I still don’t understand the team’s reluctance to allow the fans to vote on several alternative uniforms and then go with the most popular. I’m certain the fans would not have voted for the ones the team is now abandoning.

  34. '79 Defense Says:

    D-Rome

    I see your point, but I just think why would a team choose to have a uniform that nobody likes– and is made fun of by fans of all teams- when you can avoid it.

    As I’ve said before, it’s the one thing that this team can actually control and they messed it up it a big way. I’m just glad they are doing something about it.

    I hope you are staying safe! I have not felt this way about fellow warriors since Vietnam.

    I do not believe that the public is yet up to speed on the dangers or that they think it’s just NYC.

    If any other docs, nurses, healthcare are reading…

    I THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!

    Agree about what if….what if JW didn’t have a moron for an agent…blowing off about 30 million.

    What if JW had marched into BA’s office a week or so after the season and threw himself at BA’s mercy…took whatever the Bucs offered…and said to BA…PLEASE give me another chance. I respect you and I want to redeem myself in YOUR eyes?

    Is that a real what if? #FireJW’sagentNOW

  37. SOEbuc Says:

    Pa fan…I’m not one a fan to cry over others post’s, but ten years ago was the last time we made the playoffs in 2010 at 10-6 with Raheem…Soo. And you must not notice the young defense Jamel Dean (5 starts and 17 PD), Vea (need I say more), White (gonna blow up this year), SMB (tied rookie pics), LVD is gonna resign next year 3-4 years unless major injury. Oh yeah, and if that guy who got 19.5 sacks shows up again this year, he’s coming back. They’ve said the Godwin money has already been set aside and Mike Evans isnt an UFA till 2024. I think we’re on the straight

  38. SOEbuc Says:

    *straight and narrow going forward.

  40. Clutch Buc Says:

    There won’t be orange until at least 2021. You can’t have more than one type of helmet under the rules. So we can’t have alternates. So as of now, next year which is when they have at least agreed to add another helmet per team. This is why nobody has alternates that don’t match their current helmets. Creamsicles will come next year. 👌🏼

  41. adam from ny Says:

    they don’t have to do anything with the unis to influence the ability to use the orange throwbacks…

    because…

    the nfl is changing the ruling of using one hemlet in the next year or so…

    so be patient fellow bucs fans, the throwbacks will be resurrected once again for select moments in the near future…

    it’s just going to take a little time for the rule to be change, kick in, and teams will then have the ability to once again have multiple helmets…

    as for the new white jerseys – i hope they aren’t as bland as the rendering, and with simple black letters and numbers…that’s gonna be just too bland…

    the triple layered red numbers on the white jerseys was definitely the move…

    all these jersey teases through social media is crazy – just bust out the freakin’ jerseys during this covid19 freeze up…

  42. Mike Johnson Says:

    great PR by the Buc mngt staff. Most of us ole heads could care less about new uniforms. They can play in diapers and baby pins for al we care. We just want the franchise to produce wins, get to the playoffs. We been losers for so long, its starting to show in our comments. To hell with new uniforms. Win..thats all we want.

  43. Snook Says:

    Leaving out the orange in the trim of the numbers (like the Super Bowl unis) is a mistake. We’re basically going to look like the Falcons but with gray pants.

  44. Wesley Says:

    If they don’t have at least orange trim, they will be a total fail. But surely the Glazers have listened to the fans and will in fact incorporate orange.

  45. adam from ny Says:

    imagine they pulled a fast one and they are really bringing back the creamsicle home and aways…

    and an all pewter color rush…

    that would be wild if they do away with the red all together

  46. adam from ny Says:

    i’m thinking to get an all pewter authentic color rush jersey…

    with the number “19” on it…

    and on the nameplate it will say “COVID”…

    think about it…

    i will have the sickest jersey in town
