Bucs Just Got A Total Freak

April 23rd, 2020

Spectacular athlete.

This video is absolutely wild!

Joe wouldn’t believe it if he didn’t see it. Joe was tipped off tonight by someone who works at One Buc Palace that there is a video floating around of new Bucs right tackle Tristan Wirfs jumping clean out of a pool.

Now a couple of years ago Brent Grimes did the same thing and people went nuts. True, Grimes is a helluva athlete. But he’s a little dude.

Wirfs is huge. He’s 6-5, 322. Dude ran a 4.85 in the 40 (at 322!) and has a 36.5 vert.

Just check this cat out.

    That’s insane, what an athlete!!

  2. Rob Says:

    Wild

  3. FSUbucfan Says:

The video of him breaking Brandon Scherffs’ clean record with 4 reps of 450lb Isn’t too bad either. #GoBucs

  4. Jeagan1999 Says:

That is a big, explosive dude!

  5. Cobraboy Says:

He’s like Vita Vea on the offense.

IMO, this is a truly outstanding pick. I do not understand how this guy—who I never ever thought was possible—would fall to even 13. I thought he and Wills were the best of this draft class, with Wirf maybe a little more beastly.

  6. nano107 Says:

    This guy is a freak
Beat ton and him are in a different league

  7. ©MadMax Says:

@Cobra, exactly what I was thinking while watching film the past month or so. Cant wait to see him and V go at it in practice….Big V will be able to teach him a lot!

  8. JimmyJack Says:

I enjoyed his highlight reel. Looks like he enjoys finishing his blocks.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Our line just got much better with Gronk & Wifrs…….

  10. David Says:

He’s a beast. A mauler in the run game. From what I heard from the so-called experts, he can improve and needs to make sure to finish his pass blocking.

  11. Guinness8 Says:

With Green Bay taking Love, Aaron Rodgers will be our QB when Brady retires in 2 years.

  12. ItzOK Says:

Great athlete who received arguably the best OL coaching he will ever getin college. Yet people dont think he has the feet to play tackle and should be a guard. Seems odd we traded up for that. Hope he works out.

  13. martinii Says:

I thought he was closer to 6’5″

  14. Tom S. Says:

Wirfs is an absolutely incredible athlete, but if his film matched the supreme athleticism he shows in the combine or in a pool he’s not the 4th OT off the board.

That said if Wirfs can master his craft and make better use of his physical gifts then he can become a long term starter, though it may be long term RT or RG.

  15. CPN Says:

Very happy with the pick. Yes, we traded a fourth for Wirfs. However, the 49ers could have traded to a number of teams… and then we would be out an OT for this draft.

    I love it

  17. DBS Says:

That’s why some people are at home playing GM and are not employed in the NFL.

  18. Bucsalltheway Says:

Too bad tackles dont have to jump ….lol

  19. James Walker Says:

    WTF?

  20. Tom S. Says:

DBS I’m pretty certain some people at home playing GM could do better than 34-62 over 6 seasons while moving on from the 1st overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft that is looking for work because he’s unsigned by any of the 32 teams in the NFL. Unless you’ve forgotten the track record of the guy currently paid to play GM here…

GREAT PICK, ITS A BEAUTIFUL TIME TO BE A TRUE DIE HARD BYCS FAN

  22. Scorpioedt@gmail.com Says:

It was a 2% chance he fell to 13

  23. Scorpioedt@gmail.com Says:

That’s based on ESPN draft analysis

  24. Bobbo Says:

    This is awesome!!!

  25. DBS Says:

Tom. Let me know when you get an NFL job. Licht was not alone on the Winston pick. Every team rates players. You don’t have any idea this was not their man. Just because someone was taken first.

  26. Go Bucs 72 Says:

    That is insane!

  27. Ship Thief Says:

This was the guy I wanted all along!
    This young man is tuff!

  28. Natron Says:

    OMG !!!!!!!

  29. Tom S. Says:

DBS if the Bucs fail to make the playoffs in this Superbowl-or-Bust year his odds of being an NFL GM after his Bucs contract is torn up will be as good as you or I.

I’m not sure if you noticed the past 12 years of terror for this franchise but Licht had a heavy hand in the past 6 and he’s pushed everything in for one more shot to keep his career going. If he fails at this, and relying on a 43 year old, even if he’s the GOAT is a bit of a risk, he’s finished.

  30. Koryc Says:

What the fill in the blanks. I’m fit as hell (or so I thought)

  31. ©MadMax Says:

Steal of the draft!! No doubt.

He was slated to go top 5….no way he goes outside of the top 10!

I hate missing on Simmons and Clyde, but we got Wirfs 🙂

  32. BigHog Says:

We need to shake up this O/Line …this guy is versatile, I”d put him next to left tackle D Smith at left guard, Marphet moves back to right guard, Heag, the guy from Baltimore holds down right tackle …while Capps and Jenson fight it out over center …there’s my shake up !!!

  33. Mike Johnson Says:

Jury still out on this guy. But we missed our RB. KC of all teams just got superbowl bound again. They got that RB out of LSU in the 1st rd. He is a beast. Watch him run amuck in the NFl.

  34. ATLBucs Says:

BigHog. Then we would have a weak right side of the Line. If he goes to RT we can be strong on both sides. Marpet does good at LG

  35. Thomas J Bowery Says:

JACKPOT!!!!!!!!! NOW GO GET DOBBINS OR AKERS, A BIG SLICE OF DT WITH A SIDE OF SAFTEY AND A LB FOR DESSERT. B/U OL WOULD BE NICE.

  36. Capt.Tim Says:

We are great at Center, and both Guard positions.
Now I feel good about both tackles.
    Well done, Jason Licht.
First pick is perfect for our needs.
Now, we need a RB and a safety. Dont think we can count on Justin Evans anymore- which is a damn shame. That kid had game.
We also need a Dt for depth. And a Slot WR.
We are off to a great start.

  37. nfl fan Says:

TB12, RG87, now TW projected to go #4 and fell to BUCS T #13, even the drafting God is smiling at the BUCS. TB12 is a champion and lucks and grace follows champion. If cannot find WR, get AB (AB respect TB12, TB12 can tame this chap), get Edelman, Patriots is rebuilding. All in for 2020….Go win now
