“Bruce Arians Can Coach Anything And Anyone And Make It Better”

April 8th, 2020

“Jason, watch what I pull off this year without those damn turnovers.”

Bucco Bruce Arians is the Bill Belichick of offensive football.

That was the great and telling compliment given Arians on national radio by a Hall of Fame player who spent a season around the Bucs’ head coach.

Running back legend Marshall Faulk was talking about the Arians-Tom Brady union yesterday and he didn’t hold back.

“It going to be amazing,” Faulk told The Rich Eisen Show. “Here’s what Bruce does; Bruce is going to allow Tom to do what he wants to do and he’s just going to make it better. See, most coaches can only coach their system. Bruce Arians can coach anything and anyone and make it better. So whatever Tom likes, Bruce is going to learn that and say, ‘Tom, here’s what I think about what you want to do.”

Byron Leftwich is a great fit to be in Brady’s ear, per Faulk.

“It’s just a great marriage, man,” he said. “I’m happy for Brady that he got a guy like Arians that knows how to deal with players in general, but definitely veterans.”

Faulk, who was with the Colts when Arians was their quarterback coach, explained that Belichick is renowned for altering his defense week-by-week to dismantle an offense. Arians, per Faulk, is a guy who can do that on offense, and he will do it with Brady.

    He’s a great couch.

Anything and anyone that wasn’t Jameis Winston.

  3. Joe in Michigan Says:

If this is true, have BA put MJ Stewart at Safety. Voila, that position taken care of!

  4. Dapostman Says:

BS. Stop with this Arians adjusts to his players nonsense. Arians expects the players to adjust to his scheme. That’s why his scheme hasn’t changed in 20 years.

  5. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Ya except VH3 as the #1 DB last camp how did that coaching job go? And the last qb he put his hands there is that too

  6. JimmyJack Says:

Dapostman…….Read the whole story. This is Faulk saying it. He’s been a part of Arians offense and knows first hand.

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

What a croc here Joe. Why you are making me have my vodka early here. Arains is a great coach aye? Arians is desperate and trying to get a ring going out the door. Roll the dice..But I have this feeling its not going to work. Defensive lineman have a bullseye on our 50 million dollar man.

  8. Joe in Michigan Says:

I was so happy when we cut VH3, he was never any good (well, maybe for a few plays) and then displaying a lack of effort that would’ve made Brent Grimes proud.

If BA is so great at adjusting, where was that last year? Don’t worry, I’ll wait…

Some act like Arians systems in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Indy (Twice), and Arizona were all the same. They were not.
Some act like the only part of Arians offense is no risk it no biscuit. Read his book, it is not.

Watch the film through the years. Not every offense was the same.

  15. TampaTown Says:

    Except for Jameis Winston

  16. Craig Says:

It worked for Jameis for a couple of weeks, we do know that Brady has a better mental retention quotient.

  17. Will Says:

All these ex greats and talking heads keep saying Arians is going to do this and that. They all seem to either forget or haven’t heard that BL makes the schemes for week and calls the offense. BA has said he trust his coaches and allows them to do their thing without interference from him but he has veto power on game day.

  18. Youngbucs Says:

They hate you now Bruce. You got rid of their golden boy 😂

  19. BucEmUp Says:

Bruce Arians isn’t Bruce Arians when Byron Leftwich is calling the plays. At least we won’t have to worry about that anymore Brady will be calling all the shots on the field if he doesn’t like what WeakLink calls in from the sidelines

From week one to week seventeen it was OBVIOUS the Bucs had finally upgraded the coaching staff. Young guys finally developed (with the exception of VH3). The offense moved at will until Winston decided it was time to make a bad decision. The players clearly responded and by the end of the year I saw a hungry, well coached team that couldn’t wait to get rid of the one guy who just couldn’t get it together.
Brady enters the picture and now we’ll finally have that “coach on the field”. It is going to be so great.

  21. TheBradyBunch Says:

Arians did a really good job. Going into last season I figured 4 wins as they had no cap space and weren’t able to upgrade a 5-11 team. If they had a real NFL kicker they would have been 9-7. Arians is the best coach we have had in Tampa in a long time.

  22. Sport Says:

Pretty clear BA has assembled a great staff and we should see great strides this year across the board.

    In BA I Trust!
