    yes, but only if he plays good!!! lol

  2. Bucsfanman Says:

    It depends on the options, “not sure.”

  3. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

    Joe can you explain why your doing 1 hr flash poles at odd hours? Seems as though you’re tryin to isolate the sample size/population. Just curious.
    Very simple. Joe finds them interesting versus the 24-hour kind that Joe always has done. Nothing more than that. However, there really is no “odd hour.” Traffic here rolls 24/7. –Joe

  4. Youngbucs Says:

    Come bucs grow a pair let him walk

  5. SteveK Says:

    Hell No!

    Can’t stomach more losing, excuses, and meaningless yards and pints bc they are marred by turnovers.

    If we lose in 2020, for the love of god can we please lose by a different outcome? If I have to hear “I’m ballin’, just gotta be better” and we keep losing while our QB turns it over more than anyone- then it’s going to be a long ass year.

    End the madness.

    Start fresh.

    Insanity is thinking this many turnovers could be a recipe for winning football.

  6. Sierra048 Says:

    NO!

  7. Jean Lafitte Says:

    If that’s not polarizing enough then I don’t know what is anymore.

    Fans don’t trust him to get better and are frustrated and tired of waiting.

  8. ATrain Says:

    What is the only thing that hasn’t changed in the last 5 years

    Losing

    AND WINSTON

    Bucs changed coaches
    Kickers
    Main defensive players (GMC out ) Defense is much better
    Special teams

    I will go back to the GMC argument “Can’t let me walk TOO Good blah. Blah”
    BUT We are better and the Panthers well…

    SO 5 years with Jamies and the only thing that has improved is the EXCUSES from NFog and MaxiPad

    I believe I saw many posts Last year Take the 5th year option “Prove it year”
    What did he Prove? More INT than anyone / More Pick 6s
    Let me say it for the EXCUSE CROWD More Yards (great stat for Jamies means nothing else)

    Now some what to give him a contract WHY for 5 more years of this????

    INSANITY the definition of

    I love this website, but I am a little grumbly why the poll at 6am?

  10. RustyRhinos Says:

    Just missed the poll. So I will add #242 -NO

  11. Jim Says:

    So it was split 99 to 99, then Joe voted?

  12. Colonel_mp Says:

    Come on you 42 Not Sure folks. Get off the fence and pick a side.

  13. T REX Says:

    One hour flash poll at 5 am and then Joe tells all his fsu buddies to go vote and it’s still only 50/50.

    Winston needs to go. We don’t need a divided fan base. Winning would have cured that but the guy is a loser.

  14. Ndog Says:

    Look at all the CLUELESS whining their vote didn’t win. 😪

  15. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

    Joe- The way I look at that pole is that 58% are either undecided or don’t want him back and only 41% want him back. From the article yesterday I don’t think you agree with my interpretation. Is that how everyone else interprets it?

    Look at all the CLUELESS whining their vote didn’t win. 😪

    NDog, yes, technically there is one more “yes” than “no” but that does not mean at all that “yes” won. There are 42 “not sures”. When you consider that, it ultimately means that this poll is kind of a wash, which is part of the problem. I doubt there is another team questioning their starting QB that has fans so split.

    Ask yourself this, if there was no “not sure’ response, do you legitimately believe that all 42 of those votes would go to “yes” or even the majority (22 of them in this case)? I seriously doubt they would. For that reason alone, this is not a win for either side.

  17. MidwestBucsFan Says:

    I like when these 1-hour flash polls open up. It truly shows how the fan base is, in fact, 50-50 divided in their opinion of this guy.

  18. Lol Says:

    Prime Boomer time for a flash poll

  19. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

    It may be interesting to run a 24 hr pole where you put a series of questions with 50-50 Jameis vs rivers Jameis vs Brady. Put Jameis against all the possibilities. It would show where the fans value Jameis at.

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Traffic may happen 24/7, but the timing of these things is very questionable. Why not 6 pm or such?

    Ive missed both of the last two! I’m retired, I sleep in!

  21. D-Rome Says:

    Joe can you explain why your doing 1 hr flash poles at odd hours?

    Joe likes the half hour and one hour flash polls because they tend to favor bringing back Jay-Miss. The 24 hour polls tend to show a different result.

  22. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Didn’t get to vote, but I would have voted to start him in 2020 on a franchise tag.

    That could change if the right QB becomes available in free agency or the draft, but thus far it hasn’t.

    There is a QB I like in the draft, and I think he might fall to us. If it happens, I would take him over oline in the first round, but still start Jameis.

  23. NPRSageBoy. Says:

    Another early morning one hour poll with Joe looking for JayMiss Apologists.

    This is literally hilarious. How in THE HELL would a shorter poll favor EITHER side in any way, shape or form? It DOESN’T. — How in THE HELL would you know whether one side was in the house at that time, as opposed to the other side? — Some people in JBF, even smart ones like listed here, say some pretty ridiculous things.

  25. pepsi Says:

    a flash poll from 6am to 7am?

  26. CrackerBall Says:

    Why create a poll, but leave it open for an hour. Leave it up there for a few days if you really want a sensible sample size.
    Reality is too many fans are too passionate and will vote on their phone, and then at work and then at home. The shorter window is Joe’s attempt at cutting that option. But also, Joe has done full-day polls, and will continue to do short polls at different times. –Joe

  27. D-Rome Says:

    Bonzai,

    Just curious, which QB do you like in the draft? I agree with you that Jay-Miss will be the starter in 2020 no matter what the fans, some Bucs coaches, or some front office people at One Buc say.

  28. Hodad Says:

    Didn’t see the poll in time to vote, but let’s just say it’s 50 50 on wanting Jameis back, or gone. If the same poll was given to let’s say Tenn fans on whether they want Tannehill resigned, what would the results be? I’d wager better then 50% want him back. Mahomes, and Watson? 99.9% of fans would want them resigned. That’s how you know you have a QB worth bringing back. JW isn’t worth it. Half a half of stadium, is a quarter stadium. That’s how home field will look if Jameis is resigned. The dudes bad for business, and the NFL is a business. Half of the fans want him gone, that’s to big a number to ignore.

  29. WestChap Says:

    Well, at least we now know how the 240 in Tampa surfing the web at 6am feel about QB… just as torn as the rest of us.

  30. John Sinclear Says:

    Nothing rolls here at those hours. Add another “no” to the list.

  31. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

    Great time for a flash poll Joe! (NOT) Guess you want to manipulate your poll to fit your wishes.

  32. Vic Says:

    The people blasting the time of the poll are like self-centered toddlers. All those UK fans probably found the time refreshing, and the early risers in Tampa are young and old. I know my kid is on the website eating breakfast at 6 a.m. Are those not real fans???????????

  33. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

    Go back and read the responses to any of your “Jameis” threads Joe. Read all the “get rid of Jameis” responses vs “keep him” responses to each article. Add them up, then you will see a much truer poll.

    Pretty much a wash, though

    Peace, out

    So are you saying that all the folks that want Jameis back are people that have responsibilities and actually get up and do something with their life?

  35. SteveK Says:

    Ndog,

    People they put QB before team are disgusting. Losing is awful and turnovers are horrendous.

    You are blind as hell to turnovers and the historical win/loss numbers associated with it.

  36. ATrain Says:

    I have a question for Jamies Fans and JOE

    What other QB has taken 5 years to develop?

    What other team had change coaches three times trying to find the right fit for a QB ?

    WHAT happened to last year was the proving year? I know there were several articles on her le stating that

    Jamies has had time to grow and get better and By stats he got worse.
    Last Year There was more yrds thrown for and less INTs

    You can’t say he got better

    SO why keep him WHAT shows you Jamies is a Franchise QB
    ( 5000 yrds is not a reason)

    AND NO can’t blame Defense they got better #1 run defense
    Kicking was better (although it still needs work)

  37. stpetebucsfan Says:

    I’m not sure why anybody views Joe’s attempt at a “different” polling methodology with any suspicion.

    Anecdotally at least it seems pretty obvious that JW reaction is pretty much divided 50-50…and has been for quite awhile. There are ups and downs but it’s largely 50-50…this poll is just the perfect picture…40-40 with another 20% unsure.

    The problem with JW is not believing that he’s capable of great things..it’s the realization he’s also capable of horrid things and it’s hard to keep watching games while holding your breath every time JW drops back to pass.

  38. Joe Says:

    What other QB has taken 5 years to develop

    Throwing for 5,100 yards and 33 TDs tells Joe he is not just developed but a proven top-shelf NFL QB.

    The constant bellyaching about picks is like whining that Barry Bonds had a lot of strikeouts.

    ~~~~~~
    Soooo true. I would say that has been true for ALL of us at times, right down the line, whether you are an ardent JW fan (like I have been) or NOT…..
    How many times when he is dropping back to pass, that we are literally all holding our breath….. lol, wow.
  41. thisisouryear!! Says:
    Joe- Respectfully in your response about the yards and TD’s. Why does it not mean anything to you that Fitzpatrick would have done the same the season before with our receivers if Jameis would not have come back. To me Jameis coming back ruined that season. Both Fitz and Jameis couldn’t mentally handle the controversy.
    ______________
    Total horse manure and what’s said is you know it. Turnover directly affect wins and losses. There’s multiple sources to cite for this. AT this point you are trolling and hey, it’s your site. But I won’t take you seriously at all if you try to downplay those turnovers(which directly affect wins and losses…way moreso than strikeouts). I’m not even sure if you truly know football at this point or has the FSU thing just clouded your judgement?
    Joe, you may wanna pick a guy who’s legacy isn’t absolutely tarnished by the fact that he was on steroids. Plus he only had like 1750 or so over 22 seasons. That is not even enough to put him in the top 25 of all-time most strikeouts.
    Unfortunately I used to believe in Jamies, now I’m leaning more toward trading for Oakland’s Carr!!!
  46. Tye Says:
    Out of the 42 ‘not sure’ votes, most of them likely WANT someone else but they vote not sure because of fear of replacing JW with someone they don’t like…
  47. Tye Says:
    That’s why many vote to tag him… Not to keep him long term but to ease someone else in by 2021… So many of those votes aren’t an endorsement to WANT him!
    ————.
    Nope. More like if Barry Bonds had a bunch of errors, not punch outs.
    Punch outs are not an error like a turnover in football is.
    Strikeouts are like incomplete passes, but great try Joe.
    Do you agree that the amount of turnovers is a major issue. It’s why we lose. It’s not just something that can be swept under the rug.
    What QB could pass for all those yards and TDs, if they know they could turn it over more than they score, and turn it over more than any other SOB in the game today.
    Barry Bonds was a great player before the juice, and he was the best hitter of his time- bar none. He didn’t know what was coming, but was all juiced up. He still put in the work and had to hit the ball.
    Jameis is like Chris Archer: lots of K’s (yards and points), but extremely inefficient: walks, pitches thrown, home runs allowed. Kind of like Winston: slacks, penalties, turnovers. Not so good after all.
  49. Slugglife Says:
    Joes accusing people of whining.
    Devon white says hello.
  50. SteveK Says:
    Sluglife,
    It’s not whining. It’s pointing out the culprit to losing: turnovers. Whether some are just obsessed with: FSU, Jameis, or yards and points without understanding the turnover cost to achieve them, there is a flaw in the ability to objectively points the team.
    This same line of thought is also leads to overblamong of defense,
    Coaching, wind. Etc.
  51. ATrain Says:
    Joe said:
    Strikeouts do not lead directly to points Turnovers do especially when they are pick 6s
    Inconsistent play which has been pointed out by many Football Minds
    So by Joes standing Jamies is one of the Best QBs in the league
    WOW Only NFog and MaxiPad would agree No one else
